Crabtree & Evelyn Somerset Meadow ~ new fragrance

Crabtree & Evelyn Somerset Meadow

Crabtree & Evelyn will launch Somerset Meadow, a new fragrance collection, in April.

Effortlessly conjure up the perfect Spring day with our new Somerset Meadow, an elegant fragrance that captures the green freshness of wildflower-strewn fields delicately blended with notes of ivy and water lily.

Additional notes include bergamot, blackberry, fern, white blossoms, geranium, musk, willow and moss.

Crabtree & Evelyn Somerset Meadow will be available in 60 ml Eau de Toilette, 12 ml Parfum Gel and in matching bath & body products.

The Dandy is intrigued by the notion of a ‘willow’ note.

I do wish C&E would bring back their lovely Iris, it was quite the nicest soliflore they had and sorely missed by me.

Hey ho, I’m hoarding on line.

    Yours ever

Pretty certain they reformulated their solifore stuff though – and Sandalwood in the men’s range is definitely different now. Still love C&E for soaps though. I wish they’d bring back the Swiss skincare eau fraiche too.

I keep reading this as Somerset Maugham.

I used to wear their Carnation fragrance. One day, it was gone from the shelves. When I asked an employee what had happened, she replied that it was an older woman’s fragrance. At the time, I was probably in my late 20s or early 30s, and I had been wearing some version of a carnation fragrance since I was 18 or 19 (the first was an oil from a hippie vendor at a college fair). Not that my age mattered — it’s just another example of older people (especially older women) being treated as if they are invisible.

I wore their Freesia scent for a while and enjoy their soaps, but haven’t fallen in love with any of their fragrances lately. Still, this seems worth a try when I next pass a C&E.
