Six Scents Series 4 ~ new fragrances

Six Scents Series 4, Buk

The Six Scents Fragrance Initiative will launch Series 4: Characters this fall. As in prior series, perfumers have been matched with designers and a percentage of the proceeds will go to charity.

#2 Modesty ~ by designer Giuliano Fujiwara and perfumer Rodrigo Flores-Roux. “Frozen Metal, Cypress, Kephalis, Labdanum, Opoponax, Resin”

#3 Buk (shown) ~ by collaborative design house KTZ and perfumer Guillaume Flavigny. “Bergamot, Purple Ginger, Safran, Black Pepper, Curcuma, Gardenia Olibanum, Myrrh Oil, Sandalwood, Jasmine, Cedarwood, Patchouli”

#4 Nappa Noir ~ by shoe designer Raphael Young and perfumer Calice Becker. “Ylang, Violet, Tobacco, Coffee, Patchouli, Iris, Speculos, Cistus, Styrax, Leather, Birch Tar, Saffron, Vanilla, Serenolide”

#5 Second Skin ~  by fashion & accessories label VPL and perfumer Marypierre Julien. “Steamed Skin, Karmaflor, Suede, Eorgywood, Nirvanolide, Amber”

#6 Un Beaute Accidental ~  by Swedish fashion brand Vth Avenue Shoe Repair and perfumer Nadege Le Garlantexec. “Grapefruit, Nutmeg, Bergamot, Sage, Leather, Tonka Beans, Cedarwood, Gaiac, Vetiver, Patchouli”

I will update with sizes and concentration when I can. A sample pack (six 2 ml sprays) can be ordered now from the Six Scents webstore ($35).

(via sixscents)

Update: the “Steamed Skin” accord in Second Skin is described by the brand as “a synthetic note created to give the idea of freshly clean skin, the beauty of when you just get out of the shower and your skin feels fresh.”

Wow ! This is the first time i have heard of Six Scents ! At first glance it looks really cool ! And I love the sound of “Nappa Nior” . I would love to order the sample set for me here in Australia , but if one more box of perfume turns up at my door I’m in serious trouble!! Sigh*

Ha, I know what you mean.

Seriously, there should be a Big Brother series for perfumistas…. Sampling would be so much cheaper :(

Thanks Robin. Every time I see a brand I never heard of, I immediately look for samples, as I (to quote my brain) “definitely need to try that”. My wallet thanks you. :P

Ignore my comment, my wallet thanks you much less sarcastically now. I just did my research and it seems to be more fluff than something I desperately need in my collection. I’ll just sit pretty and wait for my sample packs from Rosine, SSS, and OJ :D

Gosh sorry for writing so much :( :( *cringe*

No worries! Hope you’ll love something from the samples you already have coming.

I have to say that “steamed skin” as a note sounds kind of awful (Second Skin), but as a whole, the collection sounds intriguing and worth a try.

I am hoping that is a translation issue & they meant something more like “warm skin”. And would assume Eorgywood should be Georgywood.

Might not be; this is the set of notes from a perfume from one of the previous series:

#4 “Ascent” by Rad Hourani & Christophe Raynaud: Semen top note, baby-powder, leather and Frankincense.

Interesting. To me Serge Lutens Iris Silver Mist (a fragrance I do love) has what can only be described as a semen note after the carrot opening. A little disturbing.
