Dolce & Gabbana The One Sport

Dolce & Gabbana will launch The One Sport, a new fragrance for men, in February. The One Sport follows 2008′s The One for Men and 2010′s The One Gentleman.

The One Sport is a fresh aromatic patchouli fragrance with watery notes, cardamom, rosemary, musk and Sequoia Forest accord.

Dolce & Gabbana The One Sport will be available in 30, 50 and 100 ml ($45-73). Expect it to reach the US around March.

Oh, interesting. I kind of liked previous from D&G The One series I wonder how about this one. I thing I’ll give it a try when it shows up in Sephora, but I’m not expecting anything special though… I’m not really into sport fragrances.

This one is an easy miss for me…don’t like any of The One scents, don’t like sport scents.

Wow, I wonder if the crease in his joggies was deliberately made to look like a bulge? I mean, this being D&G and all… Ok, mind out of the gutter, I kinda would like to smell this sporty flanker :hangs head in shame:

Oh, I do think so! Probably took some help from photoshop.

Good Lord! I was so distracted by the abs I didn’t even notice until you mentioned it.

Actually there’s something rather strange about the lower abdomen – I suspect this body is a photoshop version of Frankenstein’s monster, LOL.

I do like The One Men and like better its flanker Gentleman. Hope this one is as good as its predecessor.

Moore, I prefer The One rather than The One Gentlemen (but prefer it just a little bit more.)
We’ll see soon what D&G hide in this bottle

I like it too, but it’s very subtle for its type of fragrance. I like better Gentleman cause to me that’s the perfect substitute to A* Men wich I love, but doesn’t fit me.

Looks like they got a new spokesmodel? I don’t think that Matthew McConaughey, anyway…

    • Posted on 6 January 2012

It is model Adam Senn, & there will be tv ads.

Well, it is really no longer “The One” now, is it? Love the model, have never liked the fragrance or flankers. Perhaps “The One More,” as in “one more turn of the crank?”

The original men’s smelled off and rancid, like boiled onions to me. Tried to ‘get it’ a few times and it always read the same way. I can easily bypass a sport version of it.

Sequoia Forest accord? Lol..isn’t that just pine?

Lol @ “The One More”. Haha.
I kinda thought I liked that Rose The One last time I sniffed, Idk, or maybe it was just I felt like I had to like it since the sales ladies are always excited to spray that one for some reason. I liked the subtle rose concept as I only like a touch of rose, not a bouquet in my scents.

Uhhh, why would sequoia forests smell like pine? Pine forests smell like pine. Im pretty sure sequoia forests smell like sequoia.

Omega, I had the opportunity to visit Muir Woods years ago and was AMAZED by the wonderful scent. It’s always been my answer to those poll questions, “What place (or novel scent) would you most like to see captured in a perfume?”.

Of course, I’m sceptical that this “sport” scent has any of that magic.

I may add, I don’t like sport scents either…so this is an easy pass for me as well. One of the worst I think was that Burberry Sport..eeek. Sport colognes I see as aquatic, after shave splashes. And I don’t really care for those.

Nowadays they use the term “Sport” to look more appealing to men. I generally don’t like sport frags either, but like to try them cause I’ve already had some surprises.

Holy, hot da…what were we talking about, again? Real abs or no, all art can be appreciated on its own terms, franken-airbrushing and all. Although, this ad is not as cooingly adorable as the “Fleur de Male” ad.

Anyhow…I love rosemary in men’s scents. It straddles so many different realms — herbacious, astringent, savory, sometimes soapy-creamy in the way sandalwood can be. I think it also gives texture and depth to “marine” notes.

I wonder if the “Sequoia” accord is similar to a sage/mesquite kind of smokiness? Piney, but with earthiness? There’s some promise here.

      “Franken-airbrushing” is a classic, NLB – LOL!

It’s been a long time since I visited Muir Woods, but I remember the scent as related to pine or balsam, wonderfully fresh and soft. But who knows what this Sequoia accord smells like!
