kind of a cute idea for the Apple-tini crowd.

Suspect that they’ll be somewhat obnoxiously fruity/floral things….but maybe I just have a bad attitude because I’ve never seen an Avon scent (with the exception of vintage Timeless) that didn’t go horribly, HORRIBLY wrong on me. (did I mention: horribly?)

I will try them as soon as they are available on the Avon store a couple of blocks away… Citrus chill soundss good, but I find the bottles too goofy! :)

In spite of the “-tini” part of the name and the association with alcoholic beverages, I feel like these are aimed at a much younger demographic than you or I.

          I think you’re right!

Yeah I guess you are right… I gotta go now tell those pesky kids get out of my lawn! ;-)

The one nice summer scent Avon ever made that I absolutely adored and was quickly discontinued was I believe called California something??

I wore that scent an entire summer Can’t remember how many years ago, but each and every person I interacted with always complimented that scent!!

It was the freshest lightest crisp citrus scent ever made. It’s never been duplicated that I know and wish Avon would’ve never discontinued it!! Oh well, I suppose these days with everything moving so quickly so fast if you find something that smells great and you love it’s best you stock up on it because chances are it’ll be discontinued forever.

Seems like this is the week for booze-fragrance hybrid products, what with these and the perfume-inspired wine abominations from the other day.

I thought the short-lived trend of adding “-tini” to the end of product names was over around 2007 or so? (“Styletini”, “Partini”…I’m sure there were others.)

    “Fruity/floral.” You don’t say!

The Rose Fizz one sounds like it would be something I would actually enjoy. If only it didn’t come from Avon.

It’s a shame they have that ‘image’ because they are at the cutting edge of technology as far as skincare is concerned, for instance. They produced one of the very first AHA creams in the 1990s: Clinique Turnaround was the first one, I believe, and Avon Anew was the second.

      • Posted on 17 June 2011

I remember that — I used Anew for a short time.

Unfortunately, they’ll have that image for as long as they remain a direct sales company. I got really sick of MLMs because even if you only wanted to buy one thing, it was like the sales rep would practically stalk you and constantly contact you to inform you of their latest “sale” every single week. Email I was okay with, but when I started getting texts at 7 am? That was when I got fed up with it. Now if I want to buy something, I just get it off ebay, usually at a fraction of what they cost new.

I find these bottles very attractive. Not sure about the scents.

PS. The descriptions on the UK site are slightly different:

Citrus Chill: Juicy mandarin and blood orange muddle with guava leaves, passion flower petals and apple blossom for a refreshing spirited finish.

Rose Fizz: A splash of watery pineapple and a sprinkling of mango and peach combine with pink rose petals and dewy violet leaves for a sunny, playful scent.

Plum Twist: A lively mix of crisp cranberries, tangy pink grapefruit and juicy pomegranate mingled with red velvet rose rich plum and a touch of cinnamon for a flirty warmth.

The power of marketing–the UK scents sound much better!

Seriously. Reading their descriptive of the Rose one makes it sound not only more appealing, but like it would smell quite different than what is described in the states.

Interesting — I’m always surprised at how short the descriptions are, maybe I should start checking the UK site!

    The Aussie catalogue reads
Rose Fizz- A timeless yet exuberant fruity floral scent.Top notes of pink guava, mid notes of pink rose petals and base notes of blonde woods-adding a touch of warmth and sexiness.

Citrus Chill- A flirtatious citrus floral scent. Juicy and luscious mandarin, feminine passionflower and crystal musk creates a chilled citrus fusion.

Plum Twist- A bold, lively cocktail that’s deliciously fun and flitry. Seductive cranberry, luscious plum and prauline drizzle which keeps the fragrance youthful.

What a laugh- all the same ingredients for each country- im sure!!
