These sound great! Just the thing my winter-weary soul needs.
Wish I didn’t have to wait another month for them, though….

I adore tea scents and already have several but I can’t wait to see if these are worth adding to the collection. I’m not normally a JM fan as there’s something in the ones I’ve tried that is headache inducing but I’m willing to risk that in order to sample these.

Those sound nice! I don’t really care for mint in my frags, might have to go for the lemon! I am always looking for light, summer scents it seems.

I’m not sure there are tea notes in the milk & lemon scents? I think they’re just to layer…but I’m not at all sure.

I can’t wait to try them! Earl Grey & Cucumber sounds very interesting.

Will have to try for sure … the Sweet Milk especially sounds good to me.

If you layer the Sweet Milk with the Sweet Lemon, will it curdle?

Robin–don’t know if you already heard, but JM is also coming out with “Sakura Cherry Blossom” as limited edition, this March: http://www.luxuryclubthailand.com/list/limited-edition-sakura-cherry-blossom/

I often like JM scents and enjoy te scents as well. Still, these notes aren’t really speaking to me…may just be my second day of being locked in the house by ice syndrome….Or the fact that i haven’t forgiven JM for discontinuing my favorite Honeysuckle and Jasmine!

Wait, so the jo malone collection of fragrances are all Eau de Cologne? Why are they so expensive? Aren’t eau de colognes the weakest of the four concentrations?

    • Posted on 2 February 2011

Not necessarily..the concentrations are not fixed by law, so really companies can use whatever term they like. .I would guess these have at least the lower range of most EdTs (5% concentration) if not more. And I know it’s relative but I don’t think of them as terribly pricey.

I’m with you, AP. The JMs do have a EDC-ish sort of simplicity, I think, which is why JM pushes the idea that they can be layered. But for me the purchase of even one full bottle – of anyting – is a big decision, so I’m disinclined to buy TWO Jo Malones to wear at once.

And they do seem a trifle pricey to me for EDC-style fragrance. Or at least, they seem uncormfortably poised between expensive and inexpensive. I’m not making much sense, I know – I can just never decide if JM fragrances are worth it! Buying decants is the obvious solution.

This is cool. I am still not sure whether I like tea scents or not, too little exposure to them. I guess I will not be rushing in to get these.

And where’s honey? I love me some honey in my tea!!

These all sound lovely but JM is very hit or miss with me. I will sample them, for sure, but I’ll do so cautiously. I was so looking forward to Pear and Freesia and it was a shampoo-ey disappointment.

PS I don’t want to layer! I just want to spritz and enjoy :-)

    • Posted on 2 February 2011

I agree! Haven’t gotten into layering and suspect I never will. Tea in fragrance doesn’t seem to be my thing, but I would try the mint and milk ones.

Maybe these will help make up a bit for the fact that I had to stop drinking tea a decade ago – crossing fingers!! :-)

I haven’t tried any JM scents, but the Assam and Grapefruit and Sweet Milk sound really interesting. Love almond.

All these sound really nice. TBS had a Lemon Tea frag that I loved about ten or so years back, but I’ve still not found my HG tea frag. These sound definitely decant worthy for me at the very least.

They all sound good…mint, basil, cucumber, bergamot….However, I have not found one Jo M to love as they are too light for me

Oh my god! I definitely have to try ALL of these. I love tea fragrances, and I love anything tea! Assam and Grapefruit sounds very nice, because I love to sip on some assam:) I just hope grapefruit goes well with it. Earl Gray & Cucumber? That’s sounds suprising. I adore earl grey tea, and this is funny. I am from Poland, but now I live in FL. A friend of mine who is british told me they eat cucumber sandwiches along with a cup of earl grey. Well the funny thing is, that’s what we used to do in Poland when I was little! I guess that is our european tea tradition:) Also the Sweet Milk, I love milky notes… ummmm. I also love mint tea, and I love lemons and my tea with lemon… if I like all of these Jo Malone frags, I will have to get them all! Hope they are as good as they sound:)

I just got three new scents today…Sakura Cherry Blossom, Earl Grey and Cucumber and Fresh Mint. The two teas smell JUST like the tea you drink. The mint is very refreshing and is definitely a hot weather scent. The Earl Grey comes on quite harsh, then dries to a true bergamot scent. It mellows to a VERY light scent which is sweet. I am getting used to it. I absolutely love the Cherry Blossom. It is very delicate but you can continue to smell it. It is a very clean scent which is not sweetly floral. Someone said it was powdery, but it isn’t. It is less sweet than Lotus Blossom. I ordered the Sweet Milk, so we’ll see how that does in combo with the Earl Grey.

The first things that popped into my mind when I read the headline were “dilute” and “expensive”.

  22. Posted on 25 February 2011

I tried these today. And first, to be old-school and fusty, “high tea” or “meat tea” is a meal consisting of a hot dish (meat, fish) and bread and butter. “Afternoon-” “low-” or “cream” tea, is served in delicate porcelain cups with cress, cucumber or smoked salmon open sandwiches. I will now get off my soapbox, carefully dust it and store it under the box cozy.

The tea fragrances are delightful. Assam and Earl Grey are meant to be combined with the either the mint, milk, or lemon. I loved the Earl Grey, which was both transparent and enveloping. “Sweet Milk,” I hoped would be both literal and linear. It was not. It smells a bit like cooked cereal (which I love) but quickly fades to what I think of as the “Malone base” –a slightly astringent white flower blend. Sweet lemon and mint are well done, but not my, ummm, cup of tea.
