Clarins Eau des Jardins ~ new fragrance

Clarins Eau des Jardins

Clarins will launch Eau des Jardins, a new fragrance in their aromatherapeutic ‘Well Being’ line (formerly known as the ‘Feel-Good Fragrance’ line), in May:

Uplifts, Refreshes, Captivates. A surprising combination of essential oils and plant extracts with aroma and phyto-therapy benefits. The sparkling freshness of fruity zests, a captivating note of wild rose and the scent of comforting wood. All the charm of a dream-like garden combined with the skin care benefits of beech, sorbier and blackcurrant bud extracts. Moisturizes, soothes and ensures beautifully soft skin.

Additional notes include grapefruit, lemon, bergamot, orange, mint, laurel, cedar, patchouli and musk.

Clarins Eau des Jardins will be available in 100 ml. (quote via garden.co.uk, additional information via vogue.fr)

I have to say, this sounds VERY nice–and I’ve never seen sorbier, known in my part of the world as dogberry, in a scent, or anything else, before (although I know it isn’t being used as an element of the scent but as part of the putative “skin care benefits”). Eau Dynamisante was so offbeat and interesting, but I never tried the others; maybe it’s time to stop by the Clarins counter.

It sounds nice to me too…will try it when I see it!

This does sound really pretty! I have a bottle of Eau Dynamisante, which was my fav morning after a late night fragrance for a long time…. I didn’t care for the one in the blue bottle, but normally Clarins aromatherapy products are pretty good. I’ll give it a shot for sure.

      Me too.

I would wear Dynamisante the same way! Or if I had a meeting I dreaded. It was the first time I realized how much scent affected my mood. Now I use Eau d’Hadrian the same way.

    Me three.

Eau Dynamisante was fantastic. Is fantastic

    The blue one is so-so

Eau Ensoleillante was just another Biotherm with orange and possibly melon, can’t remember it that well.

Eau des Jardins is definitely sniff-worthy.

But is it unisex, like the others? To me it sounds feminine. Not that rose is not used for masculine fragrances, but still.

Good question, and I don’t know the answer — but regardless, once you put ‘jardins’ in the name, men aren’t so likely to buy it, I’d think.

No Jardin in the name for men? But the Hermes “Jardins” range were all unisex…

True. Still think for your average macho male (who would not wear Hermes series anyway) it’s a turnoff.

I have the obligatory bottle of Eau Dynamisante in my travel bag for the summer, or those bleary ‘oh good grief, wake up’ mornings, when it’s always good. But for me, the real gem in the range is the Eau Resourcante in the blue bottle. It’s a calming fragrance and it’s gently rosey and floral, and I find it actually does calm me down when I’m stressed. (Oddly enough I’m not keen on rose fragrances usually.)

The new Eau de Jardin sounds interesting – I must try it. I like the sound of the cedar, patchouli and musk in the base.

Guess I’m the only only one who likes Eau Tranquility. I wore Dynamisante for years, & at some point, the patchouli note started to dog me…..I just stopped liking it —then switched to Tranquility which I get a lot of compliements on, but my sisters, & all of you don’t like.
Is Ressourcante similiar to Tranquility? Like maybe the European version? I’ve never seen it & it was supposedly launched in 2003.
Is Les Jardines another version of Sunshine? which has pineapple in it & I can’t stand smelling like a pineapple.

I’m afraid I haven’t tried Tranquility. Jessica will have a review of the Jardins next Friday…

Oh goody – I like Clarins & I’m glad they’ve come out with another scent. Sounds like a ‘feel good’ fragrance for sure.

I like them too, but was not impressed with their “fine fragrance” entry — the Par Amour.

Like you Robin, I don’t have much to say about their Par Amour line.
I did love Elysium which Clarins discontinued in 2001 or 2 ??
Eau Dynamisante is very lovely and so I look forward to this new release. I was using some of their Tonic shower gel ( yellow in color ) last night- it’s great smelling stuff and I thought if only they would release a scent, like this smells .Well, you never know …………

Oh, I love Eau Dynamisante, worn it for years, it’s fantastic on a hot day from the fridge too….
This scent sounds pretty good too. Does anyone know what laurel smells like? Maybe a herbal green-type note?

Tried this yesterday in Paris and am totally captivated by the scent. It is truly uplifting, young, playful yet with depth. Will look for it in the shops tomorrow, in different country now. After Eau dynamisante and Tranquillite this is a very welcome addition, well done Clarins!!! You have created an absolute winner!

Well , I do love Eau de Jardins which I finally tried. It’s not unique and not very olfactorily challenging but it IS uplifting and very pretty. Lasting power is quite good too. I feel like getting a bottle ! :D
