Stella McCartney Stella Sheer 2010 ~ new perfume

Stella McCartney Stella Sheer fragrance

Stella McCartney has launched the 2010 version of Stella Sheer, a lighter, limited edition take on 2003′s Stella fragrance:

An exclusive scent infused with the sheer beauty of organic rose. Each year, Stella McCartney reinvents her namesake fragrance with lush new notes, creating a limited-edition take on her iconic rose scent. This year’s Sheer Stella is enriched with a natural organic rose, grown by an Ecocert awarded cooperative in the Persian mountains.

The limited-edition Sheer Stella bottle was designed by British artist Philip Jones, an internationally renowned London-based painter.

The notes are listed as rose and lush accord.

Stella McCartney Stella Sheer 2010 is available now at Sephora, $62 for 100 ml Eau de Toilette. (via sephora)

I’m hoping someone in Blurbsville is going to get around to filling out the rest of the notes? Because if nothing goes in between ‘lush’ and ‘accord’, that’ll go straight to the top of the ridiculous accords in perfume list.

Oh, I hope not — I love the idea of “lush” accord! Would also like to see “smells-expensive accord”.

My first thought was, It smells like a lush? I’m imagining then that it smells like rose, cheap whiskey, white zinfandel (the box kind), and Marlboros.

Actually, I’d like to change the white zin to Nighttrain or Boones Farm.

Would that mean that it fits in the “rich lady” category of ‘fumes?

Nighttrain – the perfect note for evening wear!

Although I do assume they’re telling the truth about that!

The bottle sure is pretty. I don’t want another ‘sheer’ or ‘nude’ Stella though – I want a more intense, in your face version! ha

Ditto…Stella Absolute is all we’re going to get in that direction, I’d guess.

That bottle IS pretty and will be worth a sniff just because of it when I eventually encounter it.

Truly gorgeous bottle. I’ve worn the original Stella for a few years, but have never found the flankers enticing (Sheer, Nude, etc) save for the beautiful bottles. I’ll give it a sniff, but I don’t expect to like it enough to buy it. Shame, though!

I loved the original Stella. It isn’t me at all, and I kept buying bottles of it and giving it away. I finally settled on a rollerball bottle of it, so I can just have it on my desk at work to sniff at.

It is a really lovely bottle — most of the summer Stellas have been. Not tempted either though.

You know, I really like the original Stella, and I think the Stella Rose Absolute is great stuff. For all that Stella helped bring the masses back to roses, and a pretty decent quality rose oriental at that…. can’t they actually develop *another* fragrance that may also be a fantastic mass market fragrance? Flanker-schmanker – I am sure all the Stellas are passable, but I don’t see why she doesn’t make the efffort to do something new and innovative again! My rant is over. Now I will reapply my Stella RA.

I was hoping that Stella Nude would be something really new, but no.

I would like to try this. Rose is one of my favourite notes.

I confess to having a completely unreasonable dislike of Stella McC. I have the impression that she’s full of herself and has been well before becoming a designer, a profession not untouched by pretension and ego. Won’t sniff any of her perfumes as I never intend to give her a penny. Any other candidates out there for the title of Most Annoying Designer?

So many candidates that I can’t be bothered to care, seriously! I wear the perfumes I like, I don’t care who puts their name on the bottle.

That bottle is so pretty. If didn’t already own an older version, I might consider it.

I’m curious to know if all of the versions they have released all smell alike, or are they slightly different?

They usually tweak the juice every year.
