This sounds like a salad in a nice wooden bowl. A scent for the iron chef who exudes power and confidence.

Greens & grapefruit, with lime-tequila dressing? Garnished with lavender buds? I’d eat that salad…

I know it’s a flanker to KC Black, but I really can’t think of anything that would be less evocative of the name than citrus and greens. IMO, a masculine scent with “vintage” in the name should smell like wood-paneled studies and humidors, with maybe a hint of old books and leather chairs. Actually, “vintage black” could smell like old cars, instead: tobacco and leather seats and dust and a whiff of gasoline, maybe some asphalt…

I’m never going to smell this, I’m not familiar with Black, and I don’t know why I’m getting all whiny about it. It’s not like Kenneth Cole is the only one to come up with a scent that doesn’t match its name. And for all I know, it may smell perfectly pleasant. Maybe I didn’t get enough sleep.

It is true, it does not sound vintage or black. But an icy tequila accord with lime might be nice. I’ve smelled the original Black but can’t remember it at all…

An icy tequila accord with lime sounds GREAT. It’s the pepper that has me worried.

For whatever reason, I read the title of this as “Kenneth Cole: Warning New Black Fragrance.” I’m not sure if it’s my eyesight that’s going, or my mind…

I think it was a natural mistake. After all, it’s rather oxymoronic (if not just plain moronic) to name a NEW fragrance, Vintage anything.

Edgy? Where? I didn’t find an “edgy” note in the list.

Nothing exudes masculinity, power, and confidence like pink grapefruit and lavender buds.

my thoughts exactly! and you could have the butchest notes you want in there, and “dewy greens” would still undermine ‘em all. I really wish the copy was “sparkling” pink grapefruit.

Don’t know. Didn’t like any scent of Kenneth Cole, especially Reaction: it made me feel sick.
