Armani Prive Cedre Olympe ~ new fragrance

Giorgio Armani Prive Cedre Olympe fragranceGiorgio Armani will launch Cèdre Olympe, the fourth fragrance in the Les Eaux Armani Privé series:

The deep valleys and steep slopes of Mount Olympus are home to a few magnificent tree varieties: pine and cedar, exposed to the burning sun and searing wind. The lofty Cedar stands on steep paths; its alliance with the earth and the skies and the richness of its essence lured Giorgio Armani.

Cèdre Olympe evokes the moment when the drifting scents of resin rise beneath the outstretched branches, when the sun hits the stone walls, when the sea breeze drifts in off the Aegean Sea. Not far from this majestic tree, Bitter Orange and Bergamot distil their sun-drenched fragrance, any way the wind blows; and with the dark green scent of lemon tree leaves, the shade is almost palpable.

Giorgio Armani dedicates Cèdre Olympe to the gods of the Mediterranean.

Giorgio Armani Les Eaux Armani Privé Cèdre Olympe will be available in 100 ml Eau de Toilette. (via giorgioarmanibeauty)

Haven’t tried any of this line yet, but this one has me drooling.

I tried all the “regular” Armani Prives, but the only one I’ve tried in the Eaux collection is the Vetyver, which is pretty darned good. Might be best I not try any more of them ;-)

I really like Rose Alexandrie, good from start to finish.

It sounded nice, glad to hear it is!

I just bought that off Ebay…I hope it isn’t a fake! I find that Rose Alexandrie manages to be delicate and beautiful, with as much orange blossom as rose, yet manages to be quite long lasting too. It doesn’t develop much though, just fades to floral muskiness…but such a well done, simple, pretty scent!

        Hope it turns out ok!

Good luck! I’m still trying to straighten out my ebay fake fiasco.

The very sound of this one makes me swoon with delight.

It really does sound quite nice. Wish they came in smaller bottles though…

Does Sound Nice, Doesn’t It! All of the Armani Prive Fragrances are exceptionally well done, some a little overdone, but better to overshoot the mark than never even reach it! Eau De Jade and Pierre De Lune are Very Spectacular!

I have to say that I was not immediately impressed with the Eau de Jade, but it has grown on me tremendously. I worry constantly that I will run out of it sooner than I would like (that is, much sooner than i’d like to pay for more). :P

They are well done. Still think they’re overpriced, and so far have not been one of the lucky ones to find them in TJ Maxx…but I keep trying!

The whole Armani Privé line is on my list of “to sniff”, once I get my tired burnt out self out of the house and to the department stores.

I’ve been rocking the Eau de Jade and Cuir Améthyste quite frequently the past month.

Have you tried Bois d’Encens? That’s my favorite of them all.

I have not. It is also the one that came most highly recommended to me. I was lucky enough to find them at Marshall’s though. Bargain shoppers can’t be choosers.

I am with Farah on the Rose Alexandrie, and also liked Vetyver Babylone, which was a first for me and vetiver.

This one also has me drooling, especially as the euro is so strong that holidays in Greece are not such an affordable option anymore. Mind you, neither is this bottle!!

Sounds like I need to get a sample of the Rose, thanks!

I just bought a bottle of Osmanthus Interdite, and retrospectively clocked that you are a fan. Pretty confident you will like the Rose Alexandrie in that case, possibly even hat eatingly so.

The SA in Harvey Nicks was most forthcoming with samples of it for me and Farah, not that that is any good to you in PA….

Nope, no good at all! But I’ll find some eventually :-)

Re the Prive fragrances i was in Selfridges today & Armani have launched a new Prive fragrance jumping on the Oud bandwagon with Royal Oud -\ its in the standard black wood bottle cover but with a gold pebble lid & a gold plaque on the front with the title – believe its a world exclusive to Selfridges & yours for £170 !

    • Posted on 26 July 2010

Thanks Nathanthomas, I had heard about that one then forgot all about it. Sounds quite out of my price range, LOL…

        Posted on 26 July 2010

haha its true! especially when they don’t even smell very good! Apparently there are to be 3 in the ’1001 nights’ range – Royal Oud is exclusive to Selfridges, Rose D’arabie is exclusive to Harrods & the other one isnt out yet but im assuming it’ll also be an exclusive to some high end store. It’s all so derivative – the fragrances smell tired & like they’ve all been done before (& better) by others. The name & idea is a blatant copy of By Kilians ‘Arabian Nights’ range & if you look at the ad for Rose D’Arabie its a BLATANT copy of Tom Fords ads for his private blends!

        • Posted on 28 July 2010

Interesting! Well, he is definitely on the tail end of the oud craze.

            Posted on 30 July 2010

Oddly i was passing through Selfridges again last night & every single trace of Royal Oud had been removed, no bottles, no ads & no-\one in the Armani section could tell me what had happened to it – must be the shortest exclusive ever – it was only in the store for a couple of days then every trace of it was erased! Maybe the Tom Ford concession which is 5 feet away really did object to the ‘similarity’ of the ads & got the lawyers in! LOL

          • Posted on 30 July 2010

That is *very* weird. I wonder if they put it on counter before they were supposed to?

  8. nathanthomas
    Posted on 2 August 2010

well appaaaaaarently they sold out of their entire ‘worldwide exclusive’ consignment in 2 days (at £170 a bottle!) & that was it – no more until the worldwide launch in September -so everyone can have a go at it then!! Must be the shortest exclusive launch ever – cant believe they ran out so quickly!I When i was in Harrods yesterday you couldnt get near the counter for middle eastern women trying the Rose D’arabie so seems like Armani have a hit on their hands despite the blandness of the fragrances themselves!

    • Posted on 2 August 2010

That is not impressive w/o knowing how many bottles they had — could have been 10 or 15, right? Unless you saw piles of boxes…

      • nathanthomas
        Posted on 2 August 2010

hehe. They spent a lot of cash setting up 3 hefty display stands & it was launched in only that one store so i would hope they would order more than 10 bottles or they should sack the buyer lol! it just seemed odd to launch an armani fragrance in one store on the planet & call it a worldwide exclusive & spend cash advertising it then to run out after 2 days!

        • Posted on 3 August 2010

All true, except that sometimes they do a limited launch to see how something will sell before they spend $ on it elsewhere. Still, sounds like these did very well!
