Avon + Cynthia Rowley Flower & Petal ~ new fragrances

Cynthia Rowley for Avon Flower & Petal perfumesCynthia Rowley will launch a duo of mother-daughter fragrances for Avon before Mother's Day:

Flower and Petal are designed to symbolize the bond between women, especially between mothers and daughters. Flower was created with the mother in mind, while Petal is a lighter fragrance designed for younger girls.

The fragrances were developed by perfumers Richard Herpin and Frank Voelkl.

Flower for mothers is meant to “to liberate your flirty, feminine side”, and the floral scent features notes of Casablanca lily, freesia, cashmere woods, vanilla, skin musk, velvet woods and sandalwood. It will be available in 50 ml Eau de Parfum ($30).

Petal for daughters is to share “with the young ladies in your life who remind you why it’s magical to be a girl”; the notes for the green floral scent include lily of the valley. Petal will be available in 30 ml Eau de Toilette ($15).

    What? Nothing for grandmas?
They could have gone with: Bud, Bloom and Blown as the names.
(End of snark.) They sound nice, actually. I might sample.

Cynthia Rowley's last fragrance was pleasant enough, if nothing earth-shaking, and she really does get someone to design some charming bottles. I *love* the hobnail glass effect on these!

I love the hobnail too, esp. in the milk glass. Very nicely done!

from the list of notes I would probably like the mom scent, and my mom would like the daughter scent.

Spring must be the season for pretty bottles! Wish Avon did samples – can't want to drop $45 unsniffed just because the bottles are cute.

I have her signature perfume. It's a nice day scent, very pretty.

Avon has samples, you just have to ask your rep for them. They give them by the next order if they are not on back order.

Every scent they have has samples available…

Thanks! I haven't done the avon thing much so I didn't know they did that. Our IT guy's wife sells it, I'll have to ask him to score me some perfume! :)

*I've got her signature one too – have to agree, very pretty especially with spring coming!

Oh, look at those pretty bottles! Now, why can't Serge take a leaf out of their book? (Only half-joking, unfortunately.)

PS. 's'not fair: it looks like it won't be on sale in the UK. :-(

I have to agree that the bottles for this particular scent are adorable =0]
God help me, it reminds me of some of the nice dishes that my grandmother would set out during Christmas =0]

Perfumesecrets, my problem is that I haven't got an Avon rep and don't want one. Just want the samples :-)

Really? That's odd, most of the big Avon scents seem to launch in the UK before they get to the US.

Aha, did your grandmother keep milk glass? I adore milk glass.

Yup. As a matter of fact, my mother actually managed to save some of it after my grandmother passed a couple of years ago. She inherited some of the dishes and she has set them up in the china cabinet.

    They're gorgeous pieces.

Ah, glad they're being preserved — I really do love old glass.

Does anybody know where I could purchase the dress that was on the cover of the Avon book that launched Cynthia Rowley's Flowers?

    No, sorry.
