Miss Sixty Rock Muse ~ new fragrance

Miss Sixty Rock Muse perfumeMiss Sixty has launched a new fragrance, Rock Muse:

Because every rocker needs a muse, Miss Sixty Rock Muse is the newest instalment in the sensational rock ’n roll saga.

She’s the one who grabs the spotlight – the goddess/woman who inspires the music, the words and the scene.

She is strong, rebellious, laid back, sexy, ultra-glamorous, dazzling and magnetic all in one.

She’s the hot number the band grooves on. Flirtatious, wild and sensual, she hypnotizes and inspires everyone in her path.

Miss Sixty Rock Muse is a chypre fragrance with notes of grapefruit, bergamot, redcurrant, heliotrope, jasmine, yerba mate, frosted rose, patchouli, sandalwood, vetiver, soft musk and basmati rice. (quote via carnaby.co.uk, additional information via purebeauty.co.uk)

Oh, buh-rother. There's so much to shake your head at in the advertising copy that I don't know where to start.
For that matter, the scent sounds like it's all over the map, too.
*off to find a rocker I can be the hot groove for*

Good grief, I could never carry off a scent with those kinds of properties! I doubt if Beyonce herself could!

I swear to God this whole ad campaign makes me think of the $1.99 altar candles and the bleeding heart of Mary on the sticker. And Miss Sixty Rock Muse makes me think of Debbie Harry. She was hot but time devours us all.

Hey, WAYYY off-topic .. any of our perfumenistas watch Tim Gunn's Guide to Style? Gorshdurnit I love that man!

Mmmm…sounds like a rockin' curry recipe! Oh wait, this is meant to be a personal fragrance? In that case, I'll hold the rice, tea and cranberry sauce…

The copy brings to mind Cynthia PlasterCaster rather than any female musicians, to my mind… I'm offended by the fact that they're marketing this to “women who inspire (male) rockers” rather than “women rockers”. bah.

Didn't know whether to laugh, cry or heave a sad sigh. I hope sweet little aspiring rockerchicks everywhere stay away from this whole concept in droves. Serve the marketers (could they possibly be anyone but developmentally-delayed adult males?) right.

Don't even know who TG is. Only watch 2 shows: The Office & House. Oh, really 4 — also watch Extras & Curb Your Enthusiasm on DVD.

LOL — had to Google Cynthia Plastercaster, very glad I did. I'd say this is geared towards a way younger market than would be likely to be “women rockers”.

Don't know much about the Miss Sixty brand or who it appeals to, but based on what I've seen so far, we are talking very young.
