Amouage will launch Opus X, the latest fragrance in the niche brand’s Library Collection (see recent entries VII, VIII and IX), in March.
Inspired by the Red Mendelssohn Stradivarius that inspired the film The Red Violin.
Notes for the woody floral include centifolia rose, bloody rose accord, rosebud, rose oxide, geranium, varnish accord, leather, ambrarome, oud, ylang ylang and metallic accord.
Amouage Opus X will be available in 100 ml Eau de Parfum.

Wow, love the packaging! The notes, not so sure about-I am not attracted to metallics and oxides…too much time weighing out pottery glaze ingredients or something.
That bottle is gorgeous. I have not loved any of this series so far though — although pretty sure I’ve missed a few.
“Is…ah…our little red violin, THE, red violin?”
This just made my day….I don’t care if I never smell it. I’m glad somebody made it and put it out into the universe.
🙂
I love that bottle! Simple and luxurious.
Yep!
t packaging is gorgeous, and the notes sound fabulous (what’s rose oxide?). Going on my Try list for now.
Green / fruity rose note.
Oh!!!I’m still on my current rose-kick so this will go on the must-sniff list!Wore Rossy de Palma today, would love to compare it to the Opus as they sound similar!
I would have thought something a little more woody would suit the theme, so the notes are kinda throwing me off, but the packaging is swoon-worthy. I’ll definitely try it.
