Making Sense of Scents is a new educational program for children in grades 3 through 5:
The power of scent is a remarkable thing, yet until fairly recently a clear understanding of how it worked remained a mystery. The Sense of Smell Institute, together with The Weekly Reader, The Fragrance Foundation and Les Christophs worked together to develop a fun, inter-active and highly educational kit, “Making Sense of your Scents!” to help students understand how the sense of smell works and the important role it plays in their daily lives. This year's Sense of Smell Day, sponsored by the Sense of Smell Institute, will be on Saturday, April 29th:
Participating museums and science centers feature a variety of hands-on, interactive activities including, but not limited to: demonstrations of how the sense of smell functions in animals and humans; the link between our senses of taste and smell; how smells can alert us to danger, enhance our alertness, improve our moods and much more. There are also many creative and fragrant craft activities and entertainment in the form of puppet shows, treasure hunts, storytelling, musicians and contests.

Today is the 12th annual Sense of Smell day, and the Sense of Smell Institute is sponsoring events at a number of children's museums and science centers across the United States. For more information, see here.
From an article on wearable tech in NY NewsDay (sorry, link no longer working):
The microfiber in Puma's Naughty 1 Active Cat workout wear, new this season, releases a light ginseng fragrance as you sweat, masking odor for up to 30 washings.
That is not particularly appealing to me, but the technology is interesting.
