About 30,000 Dutch households are to receive marijuana-scented scratch cards in an effort to uncover illegal urban cannabis plantations. Authorities in Rotterdam and The Hague say they are distributing the cards to help people recognise what cannabis smells like.

Two female council employees in Motala, central Sweden, came to blows after a woman became irritated by another's choice of perfume, resulting in a physical attack and a death threat.

According to officers, the would-be bandit tried to stick-up two people with a bottle of cologne that had been colored black with a marker and looked a little like a gun. But something might have smelled a bit fishy to the intended victims. Police Lieutenant Rick Edwards says there was a scuffle and the bottle broke. He says suspect, Michael Kaminski, still stank of cologne when officers arrived on the scene
