Le Labo’s “city-exclusive” series, whereby they make a special perfume for each city in which they have a boutique or fragrance counter, and if you live elsewhere, forget about it*, either annoys you or it doesn’t. I find it mildly annoying. The perfumes aren’t impossible to get — there are ways around everything except death and taxes, right? — so to my mind the biggest annoyance is that they cost considerably more than the “regular” Le Labo fragrances.
That said, I adored their first city-exclusive, the wonderful Tubereuse 40 for New York, and I liked Vanille 44 for Paris as well. Aldehyde 44 for Dallas wasn’t my style, luckily. This year, we’ve got three newcomers to the range: Poivre 23 for London, Musc 25 for Los Angeles and Gaiac 10 for Tokyo…

Coming from Pucci next March will be Vivara Variazioni, a trio of new flankers to last year's Vivara fragrance for women. The three fragrances are meant to represent sea, sand and sky, but the scents themselves are intended to be seasonless.

Kenzo's latest is Vintage Edition, or more properly, ☮ by Kenzo Vintage Edition (that's a peace symbol, for those of you who don't have a browser capable of rendering one). It's a unisex fragrance, launched in honor of Kenzo's 20th anniversary as a perfume house:

The essence of freedom — who doesn't need some of that? Vintage Edition was developed by perfumer Annick Menardo (who was also responsible for the 1999 limited edition Kenzo Time for Peace for Him), and features notes of musk, heliotrope, cedar, tonka bean, vanilla and mandarin. After brief citrusy-vanilla opening, heliotrope is pretty much the star of the show…

Lolita Lempicka Fleur Défendue / Forbidden Flower is the latest flanker to the original Lolita Lempicka fragrance. Like its parent, it was developed by perfumer Annick Menardo.
