Hump Day. Diego Rodríguez de Silva y Velázquez was baptized on this day in 1599. Rest in peace, Kate Spade. What fragrance are you wearing?
Me: Bronze Goddess Whipped Body Creme, again.
Reminder: on 6/8, wear one of your "top 10 of summer" fragrances (unless it's winter where you are, in which case wear one of your "top 10 of winter" scents).
And for those of you who like to plan ahead, see Scent of the day ~ Friday community projects 2018, where I'll try to always have the next five or six weeks mapped out in advance.

Good sunny morning to all. ???????????????????? Today I am in Chanel Boy anticipating the arrival of my new Les Eaux de Chanel (two of the three) for an upcoming cruise.
Rest In Peace Kate Spade. I’m always extra sad when I learn of people struggling with inner demons.
Have a great day.
I am sad about Kate spade too, proof that money does not buy you happiness!!!!
I read yesterday that she’d suffered from depression for years, and refused to get help 🙁
Jealous of the Chanel, but do enjoy. I echo your sentiments about Kate Spade. Enjoy this cool Columbus weather!
You smell great!
Very sad about Kate Spade.
You smell dashing! Love Boy.
Oooh, where are you going on your cruise? Deets please. I have cruised as a vacation the past 6 years and I am taking a break this year!
Alaska. I think it is going to be a little cooler than I expected. ????
I did the Alaska inner passage cruise last year with HAL via Vancouver. I met up with 4 NSTers there – what fun! Had I left from Seattle, I would have gotten in touch with our Seattle peeps!
SOTD is Knize Ten, quite appropriate for this autummy spring we’re having. Love the Velázquez, especially the clock in the back, quite a detail!
Ha — I was so focused on the HAIR that honestly I didn’t even notice the clock!
I also didn’t see much besides the hair!
I’ve seen those pictures (and their contemporary offsprings, now there are ‘statues’ in streets and squares) too often to stop at their HAIR, skirts, etc. Sensory fatigue perhaps 😉
Falling in Love
Again 😉 ?
Ahahahaha!
You crack me up 🙂
I should say that I am still madly in love with Mr. CM8…he does so much for our family (laundry, housework, yardwork) and I appreciate him and feel blessed.
And Falling in Love the fragrance is extraordinarily addictive…I might stick with it for the rest of the week 🙂
beautifully stated 🙂
Thanks Barqs
That’s just wonderful to hear! I had to look your fragrance up, I’ve never tried any in the Philosophy line.
Quite a few years ago I shared an office with someone who was extremely adverse to fragrance…I got away with wearing scents by wearing lots from the Philosophy line…Amazing Grace, Pure Grace, Inner Grace and Baby Grace were all in rotation. However, I never got around to wearing Falling in Love…until a bottle fell in my lap thanks to a kind NSTer…I am loving it. If you are ever near a Sephora you can always pick up free samples.
Hahahha 🙂
I want to smell like you. 😉
come on over and I will spray you silly…I am in a cloud of it…
It sure sounds like LOVE.❤️❤️☺️
Surprisingly so , after almost 23 years 🙂
Aw! That made me sigh in a happy way and smile!
🙂
You smell wonderful. 🙂 I love that blackberry musk smell, reminds me of my younger days.
I smell wonderful thanks to you 🙂
and yes, it is making me feel very young…and carefree..such a simple but lovely fragrances…I am definitely going to wear it again tomorrow.
Baiser de Russie
Pleine Lune Tea
I finished a history book about Aleppo, it was recommended at the BdJ blog. I had such a hard time bringing it back to the library, I wanted to hang on to it! Next waiting for Freshwater to read when it comes in. In the meantime will be reading Oscar wao
Name of book?
Aleppo: the rise and fall of a great merchant city by Mansel
Thank you!
The author of the Brief Wondrous Life of Oscar Wao (Junot Diaz) was my freshman advisor at MIT 🙂 He was a pretty cool guy, and I’ve been thrilled to watch his career success.
He has had some recent backlash though..
Oh? Over what?
Sexual misconduct

I am so, so sad to learn this 🙁 This is so hurtful to me; I have harbored so much respect for this man over the past ~13 years.
Eau Sauvage,
Festin d’Or (tea)
You smell great! Eau Sauvage always puts me in a good mood.
Eau Sauvage is wonderful! You smell great.
I love that tea! And Eau Sauvage, of course.
You (kind of) introduced me to both 😉 !
Can i have a cup of that while sitting next to you? 🙂 You smell great and that tea is (probably) great as well.
(I have Yuzu indigo by MF, its one of my favourite teas for summer, the beautiful blue/green colour is a bonus)
Of course you can!
Festin d’Or is a lovely green tea flavoured with mint, citrus and flowers. It’s gently minty with a hint of spice. One of my favourites in summer.
Enjoying the comfort so much needed today of the iris and incense in Parfume de Marly Athalia. In a cold, gray, busy day, where I am having a hard time keeping myself awake this perfume and my third cup of coffee are helping in some way.
Have a nice and cheerful day everyone!
Hope the coffee helps! I am on cup two.????☕️
Not helping much anymore, but we will survive madtowngirl! ????☕☕☕☕☕????????????????????
Staying awake with you, on my 3rd diet coke.
Diet cook for me after lunch and for the rest of the day. There are days where caffeine seems not to work much. Today is one of those days ????????
Iris and incense sound like they would be wonderful together.
The incense is not very noticeable, but it is there in a nice way. Athalia is a pretty scent, but unfortunately after 3 hours is almost gone.
Wearing a bit of vintage Poison EdT. I must just get nose blind to it, because I swear it doesn’t last long. Maybe I should decant some into an atomizer.
Anyway, planning a lazy day for the most part, though I do have to find some new pants. My least favorite thing to shop for, let me tell you.
Have a great day all!
Gosh you smell really great!
Thank you! A well deserved classic.
I am in need of new pants too. The hardest part for me is finding a good fit that also has pockets!
I’ll never understand pocketless pants.
I have a vintage splash bottle of Poison edt. I didn’t find it to have great sillage dabbed, so I decanted some and that’s how I’ve always worn it. I love Poison but tend to overlook it but happen to have worn it just a couple of days ago. Spraying helps, but I don’t actually find it to have the monstrous projection it is reputed to. It is gorgeous and transportive, though. I especially love it in warmer weather.
In short 😉 you smell divine!
Maybe it just mixed with the hairspray…?
I will be looking into atomizers though, for next time.
I’ve bought about ten pairs of the same jeans (in three different colors and, sadly, two different sizes–currently I need the bigger size 🙁 ) over the past six or seven years. They’re comfortable, they’re cheap, they fit well, and they look perfectly decent. I’m so thrilled to have found them 🙂
I also have two collections of sizes. Sadly I have 5 pairs in the smaller size and only 2 in my current size.
Found 3 today thigh. Evening that score. 🙂
You smell fab!
Thank you! As I predicted though, needed a touch up around 3pm.
Smelling amazing!
I have some vintage squirrelled away that I should bring out for tomorrow.
No 5 L’eau. Inspired by hajusuuri and KellyC.
In other news, our iMac decided to update itself Saturday night and we have been locked out ever since. All we get is the dreaded SWOD. My oldest-who is my tech go to-is away working for the summer, so hopefully my better half will be able to figure it out. I pretty much live on my iPad, BUT all our photos and music is on the desktop.????
Twins! We smell great.
Hey twin- we do!
Apple tech support could probably help, if none of your in-house tech support people are able to help 😉
I had a similar problem with an older Macbook and was able to get it solved with a (somewhat panicked) phone call to Apple.
You smell wonderful, of course!
Mmmm good!
Day 10 of Volutes, me thinks. Or maybe box of eels for an early doc appointment.
Volutes is such a lovely scent. EdP or EdT ? i find them quite different.
Rapidly dwindling EDT
my favorite of the two. The EdP feels like a winter scent!
Day 10! You’ve earned a gold star for loyalty.
Really tiffanie
I put on my robe at night and it smells so damn good I do it agsin the next day.
SOTD is Iris Prima, which is a spring/early-summer favorite. It’s one I have to be in the right mood to wear (because of the musk, I think), but when it’s right, it’s very very nice.
Hope the day matched 🙂
I’m wearing 10 Corso Como. The incense and sandalwood are light enough for a hot summer day in Texas.
A lovely summer choice!
I came soooo close to buying the 10 CC bath oil and bubble bath a couple of days ago but made myself hold off. You smell great!
I use the 10CC body oil and shower gel, and have been pretty happy with both 🙂 I think I actually prefer their scent to the perfume now…? They’re a bit more soft-focus and diffuse (if you can be even more diffuse than the perfume).
I was going to say the same about the body lotion — great stuff.
You smell soooo good!!
I love 10CC, it’s magical.
I’ve joined Chanel No 5 L’eau club today. Excellent for summer.
Robin, reporting on Berdoues Assam of India. Yes, it’s basic and pretty much what I expected. Did not notice sandalwood during my first wearing, it’s all tea and citrus to me. Pleasant but not particularly interesting cologne for a hot day. I think I’ll have fun layering it with other scents this summer. So the verdict is that I do not regret getting that 5 ml sample but I don’t think I’ll buy more.
In the winter my skin registers the sandalwood…I bought the bottle blind…because of the elephants..and at the risk of sounding like a broken record wore it for seven weeks straight the summer of 2016
To be fair, I only tested it briefly once (on skin), so maybe I’ll find its hidden depths later. And maybe I’ll keep some for a colder weather to see if it changes – thanks!
Honestly, I don’t find it to be complicated or earth shattering…but it is an easy to grab easy to wear fragrance that I pretty much enjoyed in the warm weather…and it was a huge pick me up in the cold weather.
How much of a dent did 7 weeks make in the bottle?
I think I only have about three rows of elephants left? I guess I finished about 3/4 of the bottles until the middle Marzipan confiscated the bottle (it lives in her room now 🙂 )
psa: Sephora online sells 10 ml travel sprays of Assam, and full bottles of the Phlur now.
what what what????full bottles of Phlur? I will pretend that I did not read that 😉
Oh crap! and there is a new one that I haven’t tried called Sandara which sounds really good…yikes!!! this is why I need to stay off line…too many lemmings-LOL!!!
…and candles and a sampler set!
Smelling awesome in L’eau!
Thank you!
Hey twin!
Hey! 🙂 We are triplets with madtowngirl. 🙂
Yep!!
Wow! Lots of us wearing No. 5 L’Eau. Great choice!
I’m drinking my first cup of espresso, trying to decide what scent to wear today. Next two days are scent-free, as I have some medical appointments on Thursday and Friday, so I’m trying to make today’s scent pick extra special. I might go with Amouage Journey, as I am also driving out of town to my appointments, and that seems appropriate.
Hope your appointments go well.
Sounds serious. I hope your appointments go well.
Good luck Lisa!
Best wishes for a good outcome with your Dr. appointments.
I’m wearing Cuir de Russie Chanel EDP, brand new bottle. CdR EDP isn’t as refined as EDT, it’s sweeter too but it’s more leathery, deeper and has more sillage projection and longevity. The drydown reminds me of NARCISO EDT (black cube bottle), I know that’s not what you want to hear! LOL But I’m wearing EDP more than the previous EDT. I guess I’m enjoying it more?
Very interesting. Thanks for information. I enjoy wearing the EDT, but have not tried EDP yet.
It’s still cool and crisp out, although it will be warming up later. Sotd is No.19, needed for strength while waiting at the car repair place. I will probably switch it up for work tonight.
Good luck with the car repairs. You smell great!
You’ll smell perfect, of course.
You smell wonderful today. I hope that your car repair isn’t something major and/or expensive.
Nice!
PSA 20% off on eBay today with PICKDADSGIFT from 7 am to 7 pm PT with some fine print. Check eBay’s landing page for details.
I am going to wear two of the Maison Vanille sampler scents shortly which are all quite nice.
Thank you She-ra! I always keep an eye on all your PSA’s especially, because I always use the ones for Ebay. This one will be used for sure again. ????
off to ebay…
Boy did the Diego Velasquez portrait just send me down a rabbit hole! It reminded me of the illustrations in of my favorite books I had when I was a kid – The Birthday of The Infanta. The illustrator is Leonard Lubin. I tried to look him up, but his biographical information is more hidden than another Leonard Lubin who passed away in 2016. Reading about him put a smile on my face, so sharing it here:
Leonard Alan Lubin, who died Friday at age 67, knew more than anyone that life was meant to be enjoyed. Whether flying down a ski slope with arms akimbo and his big white beard flapping in the breeze or turning flips on the dance floor to celebrate his childrens’ weddings, he relished it all.

I’m wearing Philosophy Fresh Cream – inspired by so many posts from last week 🙂 it’s very nice and my husband loves it.
We are house twins…and I bet your Fresh Cream would layer beautifully with my Falling in Love….
Hey House Twin 🙂 I’ll have to try FIL, it’s nice to find good scents that are accessible – so I can use it with abandoned because it’s not so precious
I bet you could get a free and large sample at your local Sephora.
How cool! Had not heard of him or the book.
The illustrations are magnificent! He was surely influenced by Diego Velasquez. And, I’m giving myself a rabbit hole gold star for searching out Leonard Lubin, finding the memorial page on his high school alumni site and sending them a message. His best friend in high school had written him a lovely tribute, and I just wanted to let her know how much his illustrations meant to me, and apparently the message was received! ⭐️ Robin, thank you for posting Diego Velasquez portrait!
Rest in Peace Ms. Spade.
Wearing No. 22 EDT to act as a spine stiffener in a very high stress meeting today. Nothing helps to relax like knowing you smell perfect.
Hope the meeting goes by fast. You do smell perfect!
hope chanel does the trick
Good luck with that meeting.
Good luck with your meeting.
Hope that your meeting went well!
I’m doing community project Wednesday since I’ll be traveling Friday, in my summer fave Diorella. Super sleepy since I was woken up at 5:30 by a cat who is afraid of lightning.
but at least the cat was comforted 🙂
I love Velasquez.
Today I’m wearing Aether Carboneum – because it’s quirky and reminds me of summer , even if today is cool and cloudy.
Plus, great name!
I am wearing Prada Candy Florale. I do not enjoy the first half hour of this fragrance, but it sure changes after half hour to full hour. After that, its very pleasant and pretty. I wore this scent for my son’s wedding day almost two years ago, when I needed something calming, pleasant and pretty. Lots of stuff going on that day — all good stuff though 🙂
Prada candy has never been my cup of tea but I am sure you smell great
I love the original Candy in cool weather but have never tried any flankers.
Yay for good stuff!
I’m going to need the infanta’s hairstyle in that Velasquez to make a comeback…you’re guaranteed your personal space when your head is that wide!
Rocking Bombay Bling today, which feels built for the heat of a summer day. I get a lot of woody mango, and I’m into it.
My hair is that wide, when I wake up. LOL, one morning, I walked outside with my son as he was heading to school, he yelled mom, your hair! Go back inside! I didn’t. Ha!
Lol I love it!
????
I remember that my dad was an expert at embarrassing me at that age….
Ha! That’s adorable????
Funny!
That cracked me up! Hilarious.
SOTM has been a dab of caramel apple scented lotion. It was a gift, and I don’t normally go for gourmands, but I’m enjoying it on this cool, fall-like day.
Gypsy Water perfume oil is up next. Thanks to the NSTer who sent it in a past freebiemeet!
I recently (finally!) tried Gypsy Water and really liked it, thanks to a sample from a fabulous NSTer. 😀
RIP Mrs Spade.
In TDC I Miss Violet, enjoying the salty leathery drydown.
Hmmm…. I don’t recall getting leather, now i have to retry????
SotD = Beige and Gardenia
My early-era perfume obsession Chanel samples resurfaced during a weekend tidy up. A few dabs of these on separate wrists are nice this morning.
Chanel keeps popping up. What is the universe trying to tell me? In any case, I enjoyed this article about a “sampling of floral fields as you might see them in the Grasse region, transported to Paris.”
http://www.mimifroufrou.com/scentedsalamander/2018/06/visiting-les-champs-de-chanel-photography.html#zmUPEgHqTs2TqKCR.99
Pretty pictures. Wish I were in Paris, or Spain would be nice. My favorite Velázquez is Las Hilanderas.
Take care, everyone.
I will join you in Spain, thanks 😉
sounds wonderful, and I believe Spain has some admirable perfume destinations . . .
😉
Heh, I called a colleague yesterday to ask about a template. I mentioned that one of them was frou-frou. Of course, he just happened to be the author of the frou-frou file. We had a good laugh.
My summer is still a bit aspirational–outside it is greyish, not quite there yet. Not sure if this is a summer favorite or a perennial guilty pleasure (like grape flavored Bubble Yum when I was a kid) but I’m in Mure et Musc Extreme.
For those craving bubble gum time travel: https://www.flickr.com/photos/80314182@N02/7376560166/lightbox/
PS. Love the pop up image in the upper left corner:
“collectible_ inedible”
The .20 cent cost really took me way, way back…!????
Another blast from the past! I don’t recall 20 cents.
The weather in my area hasn’t been cooperating with the cp. Wearing OJ Ta’if to dispel another cold, cloudy day.
You smell wonderful.
????
We had rain this AM and now it’s supposed to stay clear and warm up and I chose Vent Vert to enjoy. Always a good summer weather choice, I think.
Yes it is!
Finally sun and warm temps here. Yay! Wearing year-round and summer fave Vanilla Hinoki.
I mentioned recently that my H & I had been contemplating a cross-country move. It’s official! We’ll be in Cleveland by the end of the month.
I know there are Clevelanders here, but I can’t remember who y’all are. If you live there, have lived there, or know the city, I’d love to hear from you 🙂 🙂 You can email me by clicking on my username.
Happy Hump Day, all.
Yay Cleveland! I’ve been living here for almost 2 years and I love it. Will shoot you an email sometime soon.
Also, you smell fab.
I hear Cleveland is a fun city! Hope the move goes amoothly????????
Yay! Life-long Clevelander here. If you have any questions or just want to reach out, feel free to drop me a line: lunagreen428 at the gee mail.
Seems you will be in good company in Cleveland!
Somewhat related:I loved that show Hot in Cleveland!Betty White is a superstar.????????????
Some winter weather advice I will pass along now: Get some warm, weather-resistant boots for the Cleveland winter! Your feet will thank you.
Yes, and get them early in the season, before you can’t find your size.
Brands? I know my Sorels won’t cut it. They barely keep my feet warm in Seattle.
No personal experience with these, but I have heard some good things about the following brands: Cougar, Kodiak, Pajar, and Baffin. Maybe some of the folks native to the Midwest can chime in?
I wore my Cougars for 3 years. They were the warmest boots I’ve ever had ( my feet stayed dry while digging out the car) and they are stylish. They are a little pricey for me, but i lucked out on a great sale. Actually you might be able to find some last year styles now on clearance.
Hmm…I have Sorel Joan of Arctic and they do keep my feet warm enough with a pair of smartwools too, granted I don’t spend long stretches of time outside though. I CAN recommend a winter jacket though: Marmot Montreaux. I bought mine a few years ago and I am absolutely in love with it. One of the best features imo is the fleece lining on the inside of the bodice. Also their customer service is fantastic. I snagged the zipper and bent some of the plastic teeth and I called Marmot directly and they told me sure they would replace it no cost. I am now sold on their products for life.
Best of luck with the move! That electric mattress pad and cashmere sweaters will come in handy!????
I’m going to tack on to your coat recommendation, and say Lands End down parkas. Excellent against wind and cold, also great service.
Cleveland! And soon! Wow. Best of luck on the move! I have a coworker that moved there and he’s cool and looks super happy there (he is actually from there-Brooklyn was only about a 5 year thing).
Congratulations!
Yay for a big move! I am so happy I did last fall…hope you love it!
Commando. Brother, aged 65 with pacemaker, was mugged last night. Robbed of all ID, money, phone, etc. right in front of his apt. My sis & I spent this morning getting cash & flip phone to him. At least he wasn’t hurt. He takes 14 pills a day for his heart problems. What a world! The police were on the spot, but the inconvenience of getting all new ID is a nightmare for him. You never think these things happen to someone you know. Typing this out has calmed me. Oh well, Stay calm and Carry on !
So sorry to hear about your brother! No place is safe and the elderly are often targets. I hope he doesn’t have any lasting effects from the trauma of it. Being victimized is a life changing event sometimes.
I’m really sorry to hear this. Glad he wasn’t injured.
So sorry that happened to your brother. At least he wasn’t hurt.
How aweful! So sorry to hear this. I am glad he wasnt hurt, lets hope it does not leave a big mental scar.
I am sorry to hear about your brother. I hope he feels better after such a scary and traumatic experience. We are not safe anywhere anymore.
That is just disgusting.I’m so sorry your brother got mugged.Hugs!
Oh, I’m sorry to hear that. It must have been quite frightening, and now to have to replace everything! It’s good that you and your sister have his back.
How awful, so glad he wasn’t hurt and has family to support him.
Oh geez, so sorry to read this. I’m glad he wasn’t hurt, though.
Very sorry to hear that your brother was mugged. It seems like I am hearing about that sort of stuff far too often now. Good to hear that both you and your sister have his back. Hugs.
Oh, dear. How disturbing and cruel. I’m glad he’s physically ok, though.
Oh dear. So glad he has helpful siblings.
So very sorry to hear this. It’s just so awful what human beings can do to others.
I hope that he comes through this with ease.
A pox on the mugger! Thank God for helpful siblings!
So freaking scary! Warm thoughts for him as well as you and your sister.
So incredibly sad about Kate Spade, and all suicides for that matter. RIP, indeed.
In honor of She-ra’s ongoing vanilla dedication, I’m in SL Un Bois Vanille.
In other news, I went up to Calistoga yesterday to do some exploring and was walking down the sidewalk when a grandfatherly type guy asked:
“Can I pet your dog?”
“Sure, she’s super friendly!”
“Can I pet you?”
“No, I’m not friendly!” I then growled and snapped my teeth at him. He quickstepped on down the sidewalk… ????
Maybe I’m spending too much time with my dog?
I still growl at people and my dog has been dead for nearly 3 years now. It does work a treat!
You are my hero for growling at that creepy guy!
Good for you for the growl! But jeeze Louise, what a pig…
Ugh, I need a shower after reading this. What a creep!
Good for you for not letting a creep get to you.Be safe out there!x
Ugh! What is wrong with people? Love your answer, though.
Nutter! Your respnse was appropriate.
LOVE your response to Mr. Touchy-Feely! It was a very succinct way to get your point across. ????
Yeesh! What a creepy man! Good response.
Ewwww. Why do people think that’s acceptable? I like your response though ????
Great come-back! I probably would have been too dumb-founded to say anything.
Oh, and ewwwww!
How freaking creepy!!!
I’m in Shalimar Light today. I’m not afraid to rock any version of Shalimar in the summer, but this one is just sooo pretty and comforting to me.
Very sad about Kate Spade. I always hate to hear of people struggling in such a way…
Shalimar anytime anywhere
Shalimar, yum! Is it really a “light” version?
Yes, the Shalimar Light/Eau Légère version. It’s so lemony and creamy and powedery. Love it soooo much!
So sorry about your brother, scentsenior, but at least he is OK and at least the police came right away. Things like that just shouldn’t happen and yet they do.
Hump day, am I right? (Any Park and Rec fans out there?) I love summer scents, but summery weather hasn’t quite shown up here yet. Wearing AG Le Chevrefeuille anyway! Definitely in my summer top 5, along with AA Herba Fresca & Mandarine Basilic, CDG Rhubarb, Omnia Paraiba.
Love parks and rec! I binge watched all the seasons over a long weekend a while back. Ron Swanson is my hero ????????
Yay! It’s so funny. Probably my husband’s favorite show and we’ve seen every episode multiple times.
You smell awesome. And Parks and Recreation is great!
Yes! I’ve been binge watching Will and Grace, I forgot how funny it is. And “Karen” was “Tammy” on P&R, so hysterical… I might have to watch from the beginning…
LE Chevrefeuille is on my list, I have put it in and out of my cart on FragranceNet so many times, I go around and around trying to decide how I might spend $100, and then I usually drop it on something that was not even on my radar
Get it! You won’t regret it 😉
Back it goes in the cart ????
The new one or the old one? I wonder if the new Will & Grace is any good!
Old! I’ll have to check out the new one, I can’t imagine the jokes are as edgy as they were back then.
It’s just as good! Maybe even better????
Am I a Parks and Rec fan?
Do I know the words to 5000 Candles in the Wind (aka Bye, Bye Lil Sebastian)? 😉
Miss you in the saddest fashion! 😉
LOL!
I’m wearing what would be my Friday perfume today because the weather won’t be summer like at all on Friday, but it’s a high of 74 today. Tom Ford Orchid Soleil! I love it so much. It just does it for me.
Looking forward to lunch from a favorite taco shop down the street. I’ll be bringing them back to work to have lunch with my coworker friend who is nursing a broken ankle.
That is a great perfume. You smell lovely!
Propers to you for doing a taco run for your coworker! That’s awesome.
Tacos are delicious and you’re a great friend! Also, you smell great .
Sotd is Thebes, by Sultan Pasha
Today’s weather was perfect, 25 (77 fahrenheit) to 28 degrees, sunny, blue sky, a light breeze. And NOT humid. Its the humidy that often bothers me, not the warm temperatures.
I ended up buying shoes…the other day
white maryjane pumps
I love MaryJanes! Enjoy them ???? do you have a picture?
Image from https://slimages.macysassets.com/is/image/MCY/products/9/optimized/9363909_fpx.tif?bgc=255,255,255&wid=224&qlt=90,0&layer=comp&op_sharpen=0&resMode=bicub&op_usm=0.7,1.0,0.5,0&fmt=jpeg.
Oh wow, beautiful!
And versatile. 🙂
Of course they will look awesome with a summer dress, but I think they also make a good match with blue jeans
…..white broderie anglaise top or a breton shirt…red lipstick..
😉
I am wearing them with blue jeans and a boat neck shirt in white , black diamond (fake) earnings and hit pink lipstick
Last day of vacationing in NC, and it’s been lovely. Weather was great, beach water temp was warm. Lots of rays swimming around and are awesome to watch. Long drive home starting tomorrow. I’ve been wearing CdG Lily pretty much daily and I’m not sick of it yet!
Will go back and catch up on the comments later, but just wanted to check in and say hi. I’ve missed my smelly buds here!
We are missing you here too! Glad you have had a nice time. Have a safe trip back home.
Thank you! Nice going away, but I always look forward to being home. I miss my kitties too much!
Have a safe trip home!
Thank you! Hopefully the weather further north will be better on the way back. We were driving through solid walls of rain on the way through VA. That was scary.
Save travels back home, and I hope that the traffic isn’t too bad!
Thanks Jalapeno! So do I…
Hi!!!
Helloooo!!!
Have a safe trip home!
Thanks lj!
It’s nice to read your comments. Glad you had a relaxing trip. Safe travels!
Thanks Petunia! It was nice and mostly relaxing, but I’m a bit peopled out, lol.
That strikes me as funny since you live in NYC. I’m sure the kitty kids will be glad to see you. ????
Yay for beach vacations! Glad you’ve enjoyed yourself!
Saddened by the news of Kate Spade.I loved her cheerful designs.
SOTD comes with a story…as part of my resolution to not only do a capsule wardrobe, but a “capsule life”,the perfume collection is being culled and streamlined.I took a couple of unloved-in in some cases unsmelled and unopened perfumes-to work to have a mini-sale during lunch this past Monday. There was about 20 perfumes of which 5 remained unloved and unsold. Thus, giving love today to one of them, and really enjoyed wearing it,and received a couple of great compliments.Which I never fish for,but always appreciate.
Valentino Uomo. It’s a keeper after today!
Hug your loved ones.

That is why our collections never get drastically reduced, because once we tried again some of the “unloved, unworn” ones, we find out that they are in fact good enough to keep. But at least you got rid of most of them and that is a big achievement! 🙂 ????
Totally agree with you!The ones who went all found loving new homes!Lol!
Even Angel went to a defiant non-perfumista.And it smells SO GOOD on her,I was unashamedly jealous!Having tried for years to get Angel to love ME.lol
Nice job on getting some of your “unloved, unworn” perfumes new homes! ????
Thanks Jalapeno.
It feels good to get rid of some of the excess in my life as well. Not only the perfumes.
Oooh, I love Valentino Uomo…I should wear mine!
Glad you were able to rehome some of your unused scents! I’ve been looking into capsule wardrobes…
Today I wore Le Labo Iris 39. A perfume that turned to oil. I have a decant but it was old-ish and all the alcohol has evaporated, so it turned into an oily thing but it was still possible to use it, although it didn’t last as long as my newer sample.
Ugh, sorry lucasai!
OH wow!
So it’s been one storm after another all day long here. I was in the shower this morning when the lightning got a little too close to the house and I jumped right back out of the shower faster than I thought possible!
Wearing PdN Eau Exotique and it’s just perfect.
Yikes! Sounds like you had a bit of a close call with your morning shower! ⚡
I’m always afraid of taking a shower during a storm. Glad you’re ok.
Love your Eau Exotique!
Yum, you smell great!
Another cool grey day, perfect for Angelique Noire.
You smell perfectly perfect!
Happy days NST! My clothes washer in now back in working order! No more trips to the laundromat! Now to get through about 2 weeks of backlogged laundry loads… ????
Someone here had mentioned using a Korres shower gel recently. Unfortunately, it looks like Sephora no longer carries them. ???? I’m glad I stocked up on a couple of favorites while I still could.
SOTD = ‘Replica’ Tea Escape EdT, from the sample stash. It’s the first Maison Martin Margiela I have tried that I like. It kind of reminds me of green tea flavored Pocky, or maybe green tea bubble tea. It’s something fun for warm weather.
Yay for fixed appliance
Nay for backlog…Good luck with that one!
I decided to use a laundry service when I moved back to the city. They collect and deliver which is AWESOME.
I don’t mind doing laundry, actually. Sometimes I find it relaxing. Guess that’s a holdover from college days, when laundry was a break from all the studying!
Last I knew HSN was still carrying Korres shower gel and lotion. I havnt looked for a while though.
I can find the Korres shower gel on Amazon, but would prefer to get them at a brick & mortar store if possible.
LOL on green tea Pocky which I now have to buy the next time I’m at 99 Ranch!
Pocky are even worse than potato chips,,, can’t eat just one (box)!
Glad you’ve got your washer back! I dream of one day having an in-unit W/D. I’ve been using the laundromat for the last 16 years ???? Yikes.
16 years?!?!? Wow.
SOTD = Prada Infusion de Rose
I think this entire series is Summer appropriate!
Sad about Kate Spade. While I have not spent much time on the news, it seemed no one close to her willing to be quoted was surprised at all by this turn of events. I guess one really has to want to be help for the assistance to work.
My family was also touched by the suicide of an uncle which meant my then 90 year old grandfoa outlived both sons. He left a note for grandpa but the family decided it was best to tell him that my uncle died of a heart attack considering that my other uncle was kidnapped and murdered on his way home from clubbing a few years prior (and grandpa was told that it happened on his way home from work). Anyway, I think my grandpa knew the truth. BTW, the nurder was never solved.
Onwards!
Your poor grandpa. So tragic! Sounds like your family made a good call in sparing him from the truth.
I think he knew there was something going on when he had not heard from my uncle in a while. I too think it was a good call.
So sorry to hear about your uncle. That had to be difficult for all the family.
It was and most especially for my aunt. They did not have any kids unless you count the granddaughter of one of his patients with whom they travelled often since the little girl’s parents were so into themselves.
I cannot express how deeply sorry I am, for the pain both events caused your family. It was a loving thing to do, sparing your grandfather the true details. Blessings to you and your family.
Thank you lillyjo.
On a perfume note, have you ever tried the Infusion Tuberose? I never see it mentioned, and I know you have experience with the line. Just curious.
I don’t think I have. I will make it a point to go smell it at Saks tomorrow!
Wow. That’s some heavy tragedy there.
Yep, and that’s just mom’s side of the family. My dad’s side had a lot of litigious drama. I wondered how my siblings and I turned out normal (at least my definition of normal).
I cannot even imagine how painful those events were to you and your family.
My parents and I were the ones who went to Florida to be with my aunt. For some weird reason, my aunt was not allowed to identify the body and my mom had to do it.
So so tragic…
Wearing some Chanel No 19 vintage EDT for tonight. Hope everyone made it though hump-day unscathed!
I’ve never smelled vintage but love the current. I’d imagine you smell perfect!
