If you were going to buy a bottle of Diptyque Kimonanthe anyway, you might as well get it in the spiffy pouch and box from the 34 Collection ("At diptyque, patterns have always been a defining element. Here the Thaumatrope print adorns the oval box as well as the fabric pouch housing the perfume bottle. This irresistable jewel case transforms into a treasure box."). $200 for 100 ml at Diptyque, and there are also similar presentations for Eau Mage, Ôponé and Benjoin Bohème.

So they followed footsteps of Prada, each of Olfactories had a unique pattern pouch and this is kind of the same concept
Well, I don’t actually think Prada invented the idea of a printed pouch to hold fragrance? In any case, these are not the first time Diptyque has done them.
Pouches were around probably long before Prada or Diptyque came up with The idea to idę them 😉
Yep!
I could be wrong but I have the impression that they’ve recently changed into this packaging (basically changing the box and adding a pouch), and raised the price. Ugh. I was actually thinking about getting Opone a couple of months ago and I remember it didn’t cost this much.
If it’s any consolation I have been stalking Kimonanthe for over a year and it’s been $200 the entire time.
Oh, I guess my memory was wrong. Thanks.
BTW I finally didn’t buy Opone because it’s a bit too soft too quiet for my taste.
And I could be wrong too but I thought this was special, probably limited edition, packaging. At any rate, right now Diptyque in the US shows Kimonanthe as $200 for 100 ml, either in this packaging or in its “regular” packaging.
I guess this packaging is here to stay. The website for France shows this packaging only, at 180€, and is called “new”.
I’ve wanted to try Kimonanthe for forever and the pouch is awesome (love orange and red together), but I’ve never been able to find it. I don’t think there are any Diptyque boutiques in Canada.
Erin, it’s so odd what gets distributed where, isn’t it? For the moment I can find Diptyque locally, in Nordstrom, but things do come and go so I suppose it could disappear again.
I did not love Kimonanthe as much as Kevin did, but also true that since I objected to the price, I did not spend all that much time with it.
