It's another Monday, folks! What fragrance are you wearing?
I'm in Calvin Klein Beauty. I smell "adequately pretty", to quote my own review.
Reminder: on 8/26, wear a fragrance by Calvin Klein, if you have one.
And for those of you who like to plan ahead, see Scent of the day ~ Friday community projects 2016, where I'll try to always have the next five or six weeks mapped out in advance.
Interlude Man (Amouage). Been on an Amouage kick, late last week and through the weekend. Things could be much worse! 😉
No CK fragrances in my perfume arsenal.
I have a feeling I will be the only one doing an entire week of Calvin Klein 😉
years ago I would have been able to join you…I had the original Calvin Klein along with Obsession, Eternity, CK One, Escape, Truth and Truth Lush all in full bottles….
Amouage feels good on a Monday! Wearing Dia Man myself.
Love that one too.
What a wonderful way to start off the week with Amouage! I’m wearing Dia Woman.
SOTD Diorissimo. A masterpiece and a favorite of mine. It lasts more sprayed on clothes. On skin I don’t get more than 2 hours, but I keep reapplying and I enjoy it immensely.
Beautiful.
You smell lovely!
I am doing my six word review from the lazy poll this weekend
Petit Guerlain is my SOTD
Orange Blossom
Mommy’s Hugs
Honey
Green Pistachio
Baby Kisses
Vanilla baby onesies
MF green tea..
Love this. So sweet.
Lovely- so charming.
Awwww????
<3
Wearing De Profundis today. The weather has been a little cooler so it is wearing beautifully.
Twins! Isn’t De Profundis gorgeous? I have a small decant that’s dwindling (slowly, because I’m hoarding). I keep hoping that one day it will join the export group, however briefly.
It’s just about perfect. Even my perfume-hating colleague said I smell good today. She doesn’t usually comment unless she doesn’t like my scent. I went through a small 3 ml decant but I have another small decant. If I go through both of them, I may have to consider a purchase. 🙂
It did actually, in the Vapo Tout Noir, but I believe it’s sold out. They don’t seem to release the bell jar scents in the export bottles any more.
Figures…
you both smell gorgeous!
🙂
Just got my bell jar of this, so pretty.
I emptied the bottle! Safran Troublant for the last time EVER!
J/k it was a 15-mL bottle and I have a 50-mL backup so it will be Safran Troublant until the END OF TIME.
I really do love it though and it turns out it’s a really fantastic summer scent, glowy and sunshiny-warm without ever being heavy.
I hesitated too long on this ST. I sort of wish that I hadn’t. You smell lovely. It is a great summer scent…. not that I need any more perfume. 🙂
Petunia, are you in the US? If so, I have some ST that I can share with you. Hit me up at Taiga101 in the land of Yahooooos dawt com and I’d be happy to send some your way. Cheers????
You smell wonderful.
I finally ordered Safran Troublant last night! Thanks for the summer scent observation. I will try it out in the heat if the package arrives soon.
I had long thought of it as autumnal — golden leaves and spices — but summer can’t be all colognes and light florals: ST is warm and spicy but transparent enough to feel lightweight, despite the lush dose of vanilla.
No Calvin Klein for me. Always makes me think of Kate Moss in those CKOne ads – ‘the only one for a man or a women’. So I’ll stick to unisex, which will be easy. SOTD Cuir Pleine Fleur today.
That works!
Happy Monday! Where did that weekend go?
SOTD for me is Mohur Extrait. I’ve missed this one’s sandalwood rose bliss.. so gorgeous, although I’ve yet to try it sprayed. I think I might move a bit to a sprayer and try it that way this week as well.
No CK for me either. 🙁
mmm.. Yum. You smell great today! Weekends always go by too fast.
no CK for me either..
SOTD is Annick Goutal’s Eau de Camille. I hadn’t worn this for a long time, and it is much (much) lovelier than I remember. Fleeting pleasant quiet honeysuckle green optimism.
Yum — you smell great!
Robin I think the comments on the announcement for the new Dyptiques aren’t working (at least I coudn’t comment).
The’re working!
Good, sorry I was so late to see your comment! Busy day.
Very fleeting on me, but so lovely!
3 hours tops. But worth it!
Haven’t worn mine in a long time. Way too much perfume, and way too little time.
The good thing is it is so fleeting…which allows for different perfume later!
Such a gem…I wish Annick Goutal would bring it back the way Eau de Ciel was brought back….
Huh – Calvin Klein is kind of hunky. Who knew? Don’t think I’ve ever even tried a CK fragrance. Will have to consult the spreadsheet.
Wow, never?
Nope, never. Not even a random sample here or there. I’ll be watching this space for people’s favorites.
Ditto. Haven’t tried even one, according to my spreadsheet (which is far more trustworthy than my brain…)
Me either. The whole Calvin Klein empire of jeans and fragrance and home goods never tempted me. Not even a spritz in the department store…though I will be interested in hearing what others found good.
I feel really old because not only did I wear many Calvin Klein fragrances when they first came out I also owned a pair of Calvin Klein jeans many years ago!
I wore some of them in real time, too-so you can’t be THAT old ????Granted, some were from scent strips in magazines, lol.
Elisa- Scent strips did not exist when I first became obsessed with fragrance…but when they made their appearance in magazines it was thrilling for me….. to be able to sample without having to venture into the dept store! (the ability to purchase samples and decants also did not exist at that time)
http://www.nytimes.com/1988/03/27/magazine/overpowering-the-scent-market.html?pagewanted=all
I was curious about them so here you go!
and I love the way the article states “in days of old perfume was sold mainly in department stores”…yup! that about sums it up!
I just realised that I own just the one Calvin Klein fragrance. Which I will wear this week. Today, however, I’m wearing Ambre Fétiche, which I layered over Durance’s Ambre Musc body lotion.
Gorgeous, one of my favourite ambers. But I am not familiar with the Durance lotion, it sounds hefty!
It isn’t actually. It lasts for a long time, but has a light and pleasing sillage. It’s discontinued by the way. I bought mine years ago, and thankfully it still smells just as good.
I wear AF with L’Artisan l’Eau d’Ambre cream, quite nice.
Dior Homme for me today.
Smelling great.
Prada Infusion d’Iris is what I’m wearing today.
I’m currently drinking a cup of lemon ginger tea.
You smell wonderful.
Beautiful!
Wearing Terre d’Hermès today, very likely to switch later in the day. Never bought a CK fragrance, but I remember CK one being aroung, maybe it was my sister’s or a lot of samples!
I meant aroud, apologies.
You smell great without CK’s help, though 🙂
Morning all! No CK over here either so I will have to do my own thing today.
Getting a slow start to the day after a very busy (work) weekend, so no scent yet but am planning on a hefty dose of Hérmes Vetiver Tonka.
I am seriously contemplating selling my house, buying a small RV and hitting the road to do some travel nursing. T-Rex would is all for it but wondering how my fumes would fare…?
Happy Monday ????
I love that idea! Very adventurous.
I second that…go for it!
Thanks for your encouragement!
My sister is about to do just that…without the nursing. She and her partner bought a big trailer and pickup. They’ll be hitting the road within the next year for a few years. I’m jealous…. It’s something my husband and I have considered. We are so used to living in small places, it might just work!
Maybe get a portable wine cooler for the fumes?
Good for them! They
Will have a blast! This was my first thought, too. A tow vehicle and a trailer…still I’m planning mode though. Best of luck to your sister and her partner????
I am in favor of this! Your perfumes will be fine as long as they are kept in a dark box, free from excess heat. The one thing is finding a good park for an RV. You are not the only one with the rather brilliant idea of living in RV and doing mobile work, and as a result park space for RVs have become very scarce (at least here on the PNW).
I am considering a “stealth” van type RV equipped with solar and multiple batteries to avoid the campgrounds. Free camping on BLM and NF land, plus the added bonus of lots of solitude…
I think my fumes will fit in the fridge in the van if I option in the larger model????
You should totally do it. I’m obsessed with Tiny House anything. The only drawback is the composting toilet.
Well, thankfully, in the world of traveling potties, there are many options, although none of them can really be considered pleasant. All the more reason to travel with my perfumes!
I was wearing Jo Malone Earl Grey & Cucumber, but although I love the concept, the scent doesn’t work for me: not enough tea, not enough cucumber, just sweetish indifference. I wonder if the Rare Teas collection will ever reach Brussels or it’s way too late already.
So I sprayed myself with Coco Noir in the supermarket, as I wasn’t loving the JM and it was fading anyway. I like it better now, because I’m over the initial complete disappointment (not enough Coco, not enough noir), but it smells much nicer on paper than on my skin for some reason.
The parfum is better than the EDP..on me anyway
I meant for Coco Noir
Yes, I remember it being better as well, but the store didn’t have it 🙁
I had the same experience with Earl grey & Cucumber….I really thought it would work for me based on the notes…but there was something so off putting once applied to my skin..I gifted my bottle to my father who really liked it….
And I did sample the Rare Teas collection…nothing earth shattering to my nose but there was one I liked as it reminded me a bit of Aliage….
Thanks!
On day 2 of my vacation and the only appointment that I have to keep is another dentist appointment. I’m so sick of them. I haven’t taken a shower yet and I’m sitting in vintage Bal. I’m thinking that Infusion d’Iris will do for the dentist even though it isn’t my style. I’m looking forward to tearing open the package that has my huge bottle of vintage Bal when it arrives today. Yeah, I can get excited about the facial soap and cream I ordered but it isn’t the same.
Package! Always brightens up my day too.
Enjoy your day 2 of vacation!
I’m wearing on of Smell Bent’s Pop Mantra scents, Two weeks. It is described as jasmine and lavender, but all I’m getting is lavender, which is not my favorite note.
It feels like a summer’s ending kind of day. Cold, wet, and gloomy this morning. I’m wearing Smugglers Soul.
We have been having record heat in my part of the world, but a side result is that the leaves in the trees are getting that thin, parchment look about them. Autumn is definitely around the corner . . .
SOTD is Gucci Guilty, again. Finally broke down and bought a travel spray when I was at Sephora last week; goodness knows I wear it often enough. . .
Don’t actually have any CK scents, but I may go looking for a tiny bottle of Obsession to try. Hmmm, does the “our version of” scents count? 😉
Hey, why not?
SOTD is Miller & Bertaux Green^4. For the first time ever, I noticed the 3 green pearls floating in the bottle. Clearly I don’t wear my glasses when putting on perfume….
Those floating pearls are lovely.
Love the scent and the bottle.
I was feeling tired of thin, airy scents, which are bearable in the heat, so I picked up something with a little more heft this morning: vintage No. 19 edt. I definitely smell *more* than I have lately, but in a good way! I’m living dangerously, because I haven’t even checked the forecast for the day. See what a daredevil I am?! 😀
You smell fabulous ( you daredevil, you 🙂 !!!)
Luckily, in my experience 19 seems to thrive without being oppressive in just about any weather.
RIght now I am wearing the scent of sweat and cat fur. I just finished taking our three furbabies to the boarding kennel in preparation for our trip to the Dakotas (both North and South). It is a typical August day on the Gulf Coast, hot and humid. The forecast high temps for the time we will be there are mostly 70s and low 80s, which sounds wonderful! I have no idea what perfume to take; I haven’t even thought about it. In fact, I barely even feel like taking the trouble to pack and go on a trip, which means I must need it very badly.
Well, I live in South Dakota and today it will be hot, but later this week it will be cooler. You can bring about any perfume with you as the days keep changing. I think fall is on the way.
Are you somewhere around Pierre? I did see that Pierre would be pretty hot today and tomorrow. We will be spending a couple of days in Pierre next week. It looks as if Bismarck, Medora, and Deadwood will all be really pleasant temps. Even mid to high 80s are not bad if the humidity is low, and I can handle hot days as long as there is some relief at night. The trouble here is that even at night is doesn’t get much below 80; combined with high humidity, it is miserable.
No, I am in Sioux Falls. There has been some humidity on and off this summer. You will find it is cooler at night.
Gorgeous outside this morning-sunny, cooler, and dry. Took advantage of the cooler temp and am wearing Huitieme Art Poudre de Riz with a small spritz of Dita Von Teese. I love this girlie combo.
That combo sounds great!
I recommend it.
It was hot like hell in PDX, and all I could wear was Florida water. So glad to be in a proper perfume!
The weather today is such a relief. Proper perfume and a sweater.
A sweater? What’s that? ????
I keep meaning to try the DvT. Never seem to run into it, though.
I only tried it because someone gave me an unsolicited decant. Wouldn’t have sought it out otherwise. I’ll be one of the few decants that I will actually finish! It’s only available online now since it is d/c. If you like retro florals or aldehydic florals, then you might like it.
Yes to both! It sounded up my alley when I read the review a while back. I didn’t realize it was already discontinued. Not likely I’ll go out of my way to order it, but maybe I’ll stick on a wish list and see what happens. 🙂
If/when I buy that 20ml bottle that’s been sitting in my Beautyspin cart for ages, and if they still have it(panics now), I’d be happy to spot you some. I’ll keep you posted (I’m trying to be good since I spent too much this quarter).
Very kind of you, thank you! It can be so hard to be good, can’t it? 🙂
I have never smelled either of these but I am sure you smell fabulous!
Such a great day in NYC today..enjoy
Thanks! I hope you get to take advantage of this beautiful day!
I don’t know either of your perfumes but the combination sounds lovely.
Thanks! I’m enjoying it????
I used to own calone fest Escape, but it’s long lost. Wearing Amouage Dia Man, always a mood booster.
I have a sample of it, which I’ve never tried. For some reason I haven’t tried many Amouage men fragrances, while I’ve got most of the women’s covered.
I used to own L’Eau d’Issey. Finished multiple bottles in fact. A friend of mine used to wear Escape, although she later switched to the Issey.
I wore No. 19 to work today but its fading fast – luckily I have an on-theme bottle of CK Truth in my desk drawer so that’s what I’ll wear after lunch.
Perfect!
I’m in the jasmine tea symphony Imperial Tea.
Just want to give a little shout out to Japan’s PM Shinzō Abe for his Super Mario moment. Amidst all the news horrors yesterday, he gave us some genuine levity!
That was pretty cool, wasn’t it? I cheered!
I thought it was so funny and cute of him! Agreed!!!
That was perfectly charming. I’ve been perpetually intrigued by Japan since childhood, so the build up to the next summer games will be fun to watch. 2020 will be here before we know it.
Yeah, that was very cool!
I just saw that! (yes, I am behind)
I’m in 24, Faubourg today. So much more my style than the JCE creations.
I adore 24 Faubourg. A perfume that I always have no matter what!
Mine, too! ???? How’s the new pup?
I am wearing Eau Duelle EDP…
I think i prefer Vanille Insensee or Vanilla Flash as my go to vanillas but this is nice too. I should do a side by side of all three to see what the differences are.
I like Eau Duelle. I drained a sample last summer-it was a milder summer. Have you tried the new Nirvana Bourbon? Similar to all if those, I think.
HAve not tried Bourbon yet but will check it out next time I’m at Sephora.
Have you tried. Byredo Gypsy Water. It has similar aesthetics to Vanille Insensee. How about Vanille Hinoki
I have one of the small travel sprays of Gypsy Water…need to revisit again. Haven’t sniffed Vanille Hinoki yet.
Happy Monday!
1) This was stiflingly, incredibly hot weekend – 100F+ temps. I still got out and about, but basically spent my time leapfrogging from air conditioned space to air conditioned space. No sleep to be had without A/C, so violated apartment building rules and hung out at the pool with everyone else violating apartment rules late into the night/early morning.
2) Praise god/dess, we got a wonderful reprieve from the heat this morning- highs in the mid 70s. Whew!
3) Scent of the day: Marc Jacobs Decadence, which is as decadent as a baby’s slobbery kiss. Very, very pretty, with a rich grounding woodsy base to make the sweet floral scent last. Lovely on a moderately warm summer day.
Yes, we must enjoy the respite! Looks like we’ll be back in the 90’s in a few days. . .
Oh, goodness, that’s right! But appropriate- the very last blast of summer, and then school!
SOTD: White Shoulders
I’ll be heading to Copenhagen in a couple of weeks and was wondering 1)if there’s anyone who lives there and would like to go sniffing with me and 2)is Zarkoperfumes the only perfume brand from Denmark?
I don’t live there but visited it, it is a lovely city, you will have great time!
I wish I was going with you!
I have no Calvin Kline (and have always found the aesthetic somehow annoying). So I am doing a week of Fragonard instead. My fat fingers mistyped that as Fragobarf, and today’s SOTD nearly qualified. “Beau Gosse”, allegedly some kind of citrus thing, merely smells scrubbed clean. Just started watching some TV series about a guy who clears up crime scenes – I bet he uses this one professionally. I recommend it heartily to any NST folk who need to wipe roadkill off the car, etc.
Klein not Kline. I bet Patsy would have an aesthetic worth looking at.
I am with you..no CK for me.
I’m in Gucci Flora today from a carded sample I’ve had kicking around forever. Seems relatively generic, a bit harsh at first. Will huff my arm again in a while once it settles.
Errands to run and then going to two silent movies tonight downtown. We are on a movie kick, taking advantage of Film Forum running double features. So far it it’s been Rear Window/Vertigo and Contempt/Breathless. Tonight’s silents are Sunrise/Nosferatu. Maybe I should have been matching my scents to the movies! Hmmm…tonight needs to be something sultry and dark (or at least named that way)…
Fun! They had a month of Orson Welles films there last year and my husband went way more than he probably should have.
I can’t get into the silent films, but I know there are many fans.
The series includes two Orson Welles… After this, I think I’m done until MASH and McCabe & Mrs Miller. I’m sure my husband will go to more.
Oh, fun! I’ll be at Film Forum tomorrow night to see the Hieronymus Bosch documentary. Don’t know if I could sit through a double feature anymore, but I’ve been eyeing those.
I said the same thing re: double features.
Bosch is out there!
I’m looking forward to seeing that one except that it’s at 9pm on a school night. Can’t do double features or see late movies. I’m officially old.
the last Calvin Klein bottle I owned was Truth Lush which was drained years ago…
SOTD- Berdoues Grand Cru Cologne Oud Al Sahraa (“oud of the desert” with mandarin, myrrh and oud)
In honor of my niece’s birthday today (and a Happy Birthday to your son , Robin!) I am wearing a decant of the full bottle I gifted her…she is discovering oud and really liked both Jo Malone Velvet Rose & Oud and Berdoues Oud Al Sahraa…given that the Berdoues was a third of the price I went with that one to buy for her….plus she has promised me the bottle when she drains it ( I am dealing with serious bottle addiction with those Berdoues!)
and her younger sister has “borrowed” my Assam of India to work on those row of elephants 🙂
It looked cool and grey this morning so I put on some Jo Malone Velvet Rose & Oud – and now it is sunny again. Is Berdoues also more of a cool-weather scent?
I find the Velvet Rose & Oud to be richer and heavier on the oud than the Berdoues…someone on fragrantica described Oud Al Sahraa as “a luxurious ultra lightweight silk scarf, delicate but with exquisite coloring”….a pretty good description…the oud is not overdone and there is this balsamic quality (perhaps the myrrh?) and a touch of sweetness (vanilla? amber?) but not too sweet…it is somewhat diaphanous to my nose so I am able to wear it now but I think it would be really great in the fall/early winter….
Thank you, and what a lovely gift!
Uh-oh, sale at TPC – 50% off a number of lines. How can one resist!
I pulled the trigger on a decant of Miller Harris Geranium Bourbon, one I’ve been wanting to try.
Thanks for the PSA!
Oooh, my bank account did not need to know that. 🙂
As an aside, has anyone else had issues accessing TPC’s wish list? I get an error message when I try to add to it.
I can access mine, but I know I added stuff the other day that isn’t there. I didn’t try to add anything today so don’t know about that. My failing memory plus the error saved me money this morning, though 🙂
Ooooh! Thank you dear enabler. I was just able to score a 15ml decant of Majda Bekkali J’Ai Fait Un Reve Pour Lui. for 33.99. This is one I’ve been lusting after for years, but never quite motivated to get a full bottle of it.
So happy I could enable you in this endeavor.. it’s a very nice savings!
Ugh. I’ve broken my no-perfume promise twice this week. I should know better than buying decants in this heat, but first the STC Guerlains and now this!
I missed out on the STC sale. I had my eye on one but took my chances and waited until the percentage off increased but by then it was too late.
I. Just. Can’t. But I’ll peek.
Wish I didn’t read this..Picked up some Etat decants
I peeked at those. Thought about Bijou Romantique…
That is the one I got 🙂
Oy. I just broke my no-spend vow. Methinks I smell the sweet scent of debt!
Busy, busy Monday.
SOTD is Arquiste Nanban.
Gorgeous! :^)
Some CK One for me today. I also own and wear Reveal and Truth. I think of these, Truth is my favorite and very under appreciated.
Agree…I loved Truth and Truth Lush as well…
No scent today. I had an early morning client and going to a couple of house call clients later on this afternoon. I may put on a tiny dab of Majda Bekkali J’Ai Fait Un Reve Pour Lui from the micro sample I’ve been holding onto for about three years. I was just able to score a 15ml decant of it from TPC half off sale – enabled by floragal – so I figure I can finish that sample this week. To some people it might seem like kind of a boring wood based frag but there’s something in it that I just love.
I love the name! I’m a softie for the French ones. J’ai Fait is even more charming than Dans Tes Bras. 😀
Great to see Grace Coddington in the photo at the top of the post. I like what she’s wearing. I’ll wear CdG Grace today and see if I enjoy it more than last time. =^..^=
I want that bottle so badly. Ordered a sample just in case I fall in love. I do like light roses but suspect it may be too fleeting even for me.
That bottle is adorable. Enjoy you’re sample. The roses are gentle and lovely. I like Grace on other people but not on me, I think it’s the musk.
Hello, NST. I’m working at home again today, and I’ve HUGELY over sprayed Epic woman, because I could, because the Dak-cat never complains, because the neighbour’s cigar smoke annoys me, because I can’t think clearly, because I need to write 3,000 sensible words (though 3,000 elegant words would be better), but mostly because I love it.
It’s getting warmer here, but reluctantly- Spring keeps appearing for morning roll call then skiving off on projects in more interesting places. A truant Spring! Must be a metaphor for something! Hey, be happy and safe, all. I’m going to it iron seven shirts, then start work. The excitement…I can’t contain myself. Really.
Ooh, wonder whether I could use that: “Can’t come to work today – I oversprayed!”
I’d give it a go… for sure, it’s a variation on “upset tummy” or something.
Vetiver Pour Elle again which isn’t terribly femme on me, and which I’ve been liking quite a bit. I should be scrambling around all day, as I leave bright and early tomorrow for my research trip and feel not a bit ready…
Funny – VpE is like a flower-sprigged dress on me, albeit in a non-little-girl way…
And this is the little decant from your bottle 2(?) years ago! But you make everything like a classy dame, and I make everything like a ragamuffin.
I bought Obsession in 1990 from Barneys( I think ) in NY at the start of an 18 month OE and pretty much wore it every day ….and then never again. But I did a memory lane test yesterday …with Boucheron, Coco, Opium, Dune, Shalimar…my early 20s favourites. None of them seemed as rich and warm as I remembered ( with the exception of Dune ). Magie Noir also seems to have less depth these days. I think Waterdragon’s Black Cashmere ( she gifted me a sample ) has made me a little nostalgic for warm woody orientals so that will be my mission this week. Mainstream and Mall suggestions please!
Every time I meet you, I will bring you another sample of BC. I’d post it, but that the postal service is a bunch of [adjective unspecified] [insert plural noun of choice] !!!! I hate courier companies with the burning passion of ten supernovas! I’d rather have a root canal than deal with their smugly pettifogging bureaucracy…I need to write. I don’t want to. The dear man is away, and Dakkie and me, we’re lonely. I’m going to go and write, just see if I don’t.
Thank you. I think you might like Dame’s Dark Horse although it might be a bit musky towards the end. The NZ postal service is definitely guilty of crimes against perfume lovers. Completely crazy.
Maybe Tuscany Pour Donna as a floriental..?
Thanks. Will hunt it out.
Spicebomb? Elizabeth & James Nirvana Bourbon? The Tom Ford Noirs? Chanel Egoiste?
Samsara!
I know Spicebomb and Samsara well …but haven’t sniffed the others so thanks for the suggestions.
Sampling Angelique Noire from a new blind bought bottle. Not sure yet what I think, its quite sweet but with some spice. On the other hand i got it so cheap that I can’t complain 🙂
Ha its making me crave dessert, just had to get some chocolate. ????
Funny how a scent can sometimes whet your appetite!
Not only do I not own any CK scents, I don’t think I have ever (knowingly) smelled one. No issue with them, just never happened to try any.
Wearing Chanel No 22 for the 3rd day running.
Last week was my first time wearing it, and I am addicted
No CK in my current collection either!I used to love CK Be back in the days, along with Le Male my signature scents for a while.SOTD YSL Paris.Which is where I’d rather be right about now!Happy week NSTers!xo
It looks like spring here, even though it doesn’t quite feel like it. I was very excited yesterday to spot the first flowers coming out on neighbour’s magnolia. It’s a rather straggly tree, but it’s still a magnolia and therefore beautiful. So Iris Nobile for me today – it’s a warm floral to me, I’ll keep the greener things for when it also feels like spring.
Yay for hints of spring!
The maggynolias (my great niece used to say it that way) have been in flower at the top of the trees for a couple of weeks now. I know Ak is warmer than Wn, but it was only 5 (5!!!) this morning. Spring is flirting with us…dancing in, dropping hints, dashing off madly in all direction, then prancing back for another flutterby … I can’t wait to pack up all my jerseys and heavy coats!
Oh, and I forgot: I think that possibly perhaps maybe we will be in Wn in two weeks, in which case, I won’t damn my soul to Courierpost hell by calmly ignoring all the regulations about the contents of the package addressed to you…I’ll just bring it with me.
No CK. I had one of the Summer Euphoria flankers that I enjoyed, but I recall no details. SOTD = by Killian Amber Aoud. I like this a lot…it does variations on a theme of amber and woody sweetness to my nose during a nice long day, and it doesn’t wear on my nerves the way Amber Aurea or Rose Musk sometimes can.
I started today in Hiris, and am now in Cuir D’Ange. I have smelled elegantly wonderful all day, which seems like a triumph considering how the day felt. Who knows that a phone breaking in a classroom would be so inconvenient? Oh, and that it happened while trying to call museums to plan field trips? Super! At least I smell great.
Sorry for the bad day, and yes, you smelled perfect!
SOTD = Bvlgari Black
Nuclear levels – 6 spritzes and I smell like a cuddly biker ALL Day. In other perfume news, I may have smelled 31RC in the wild IN THE OFFICE guys, how cool is that if I can confirm it?!? I don’t think it was me because the clothes I’m wearing were freshly laundered and I’m wearing a 6-strand cable bracelet which I haven’t worn in forever.
Hey, that is majorly cool.
No CK for me. I wore CK One back in the day, but nothing since.
We woke to a refreshing 15C this morning so I celebrated with Heeley Cardinal.
That sounds like a nice temperature. I just looked upthe Heeley site …you are always my perfume house educator. Like correspondence school!
