Guerlain renovates flagship store in Paris

Guerlain, flagship boutique

Guerlain has renovated their flagship store at 68 Avenue des Champs-Élysées in Paris. The new store opens to consumers today, and is now 10,764 square-feet (it has doubled in size). The four story facility includes a restaurant, Le 68, run by French Michelin-starred chef Guy Martin.

American architect Peter Marino retained the marble floors and counters, and added a metal ceiling by the Haas Brothers and four chandeliers from Baccarat. Other features: a revamped beauty institute, separate spaces for men's fragrance, makeovers and home fragrance, and a "hall of mirrors" to display historic Guerlain collections.

Before you get all misty eyed about Mitsouko & Shalimar & whatnot, bear in mind that was all paid for by La Petite Robe Noire & Orchidée Impériale face creams :-)

Looks a bit cold to my taste. I was hoping for a Guerlinade décor, something plusher and warmer.

Always wished someone in Paris opened a Pepé Le Pew store…
