Up for grabs: Tauer Perfumes Majestic Tuberose soap

Tauer Perfumes Majestic Tuberose soap

What is it: As some of you may know, Tauer Perfumes ran into some problems shipping their products to customers in the United States due to increased air freight security measures. They're now back in business here, and to celebrate, Andy Tauer is giving away ten 100 g bars of handmade glycerine soap in Majestic Tuberose. There will be 10 winners, 1 bar each. Sorry, US only this time!

How do I get it: For a chance to win, leave a comment on the website telling us that you live in the US. Also tell us a) your favorite Tauer fragrance or b) your favorite scented soap or c) what you wish Andy Tauer would make next. Or go ahead and tell us all three.

Be sure to use the “Post a comment” box; do not reply to another comment! Replies to comments will be deleted!

The contest will be open until noon or so on Friday, and I'll announce the winners on Saturday.

The fine print: Don't enter the contest unless I have permission to use the email address in your reader account to contact you. If the email address in your reader account is incorrect, you might want to fix it. If you are the winner and you fail to send me your mailing details within a couple weeks, I’ll give your prize away to someone else.

Oh exciting! I’m a sucker for Reverie Au Jardin…

  2. OK, so I’ll just tell you all three.

    A) I love so many Tauers. I’d say my favorite is probably Miriam, which is technically Tableau de Parfums. If i had to go for the main line, I’d say maybe Carillon Pour un Ange, followed by Reverie au Jardin and Incense Rose.
    B) I love scented soaps. One of my faves is LUSH Lust.
    C) What I wish for from Andy? There are a few things that are coming up I’m super excited about (particularly his gardenia fragrance). But I’d love to see him make a jasmine bomb. An insane, Andy-ed up jasmine bomb. Yeah!

  3. Lucy says:

I live in the US and you may use my information to contact me anytime.

I have only had the pleasure of smelling one of Mr. Tauer’s creations, so Carillon Pour Un Ange it is!

Thank you for another wonderful giveaway.

  4. elise says:

I live in the US and also love Carillon Pour Un Ange (and I love the name of it too!) I don’t wear it much, but pull it out periodically in the eve…so it is a “just for me” scent most of the time!
    Thanks for the draw!

  5. Dzingy says:

My favorite Tauer perfume is Miriam.

  6. Rapunzel says:

My favorite scented soaps are from Acca Kappa, especially White Moss.

  7. monkeytoe says:

I live in the US, my favorite Tauer fragrance is Incense Rose, my favorite scented soap is usually the one I am using (LAFCO Feu de Bois), and I would love to see Andy make whatever he feels inspires him–I like surprises!

  8. Elizabeth says:

I live in the US. My favorite Tauer perfume is Zeta, my favorite scented soap is Lush Snowcake, and I think that Andy Tauer should do a heliotrope perfume next!

  9. jirish says:

Does this mean Andy is branching out into soaps as well? I know he has always done some as Christmas giveaways. I’d love to actually be able to buy some. It’s hard to pick my favorite Tauer, since I have so many. If forced, I guess I’d go with Incense Rose.

  10. ringthing says:

Oh, marvelous giveaway, thanks! My favorite Tauer is Une Rose Chypree; favorite soap is Tambela Buttermilk, Honey and Oatmeal; I would love a Tauer soap scented with linden blossom. Don’t know if that’s even possible :)

  11. matildaben says:

I live in the U.S. My favorite Andy Tauer is l’Air du Desert Marocain; my favorite scented soap is Atelier Cologne Orange Sanguine.

  12. egabbert says:

I live in the US. I actually own one of these, but I’ve been hoarding it. My theory is, if I got another, I’d use ‘em. My fave Tauer is either URC or Incense Rose, I can never decide. Thanks for the draw!

  13. moon_grrl says:

I live in the US and my favorite Tauer is Vetiver Dance.

  14. JolieFleurs says:

I live in the U.S, and my favorites of Andy Tauer are l’Air du Desert Marocain, Incense Rose and Miriam.

I probably shouldn’t ask to be entered, since tuberose doesn’t agree with me, but I am a Scented Soap Ho and would love to have one of Andy’s!

Some of my favorite scented soaps include Claus Porto, Roget & Gallet, good ol’ Maja, and Panier de Sens (their rose is especially lovely, and the packaging adorable)

I would love for Andy’s take on carnation, as well ss the jasmine bomb someone mentioned upthread!

Thanks as always to Andy and NST for such a generous draw.

  15. crichey89 says:

I live in the US and my favorite soap is Lush, Honey I Washed the Kids.

  16. d3m0lici0n says:

I live in the US and you have permission to use my mail to contact me. My favorite Tauer is incense rose. Thanks.

  17. Absolute Scentualist says:

Hi Robin. Thank you (and Andy, of course) for the draw! I live in the US.

    A. My favorite Andy Tauer fragrance of the ones I’ve tried so far has to be Orange Star.

    B. My favorite bar of soap is a tough decision, but I like Satsuma from The Body Shop, China Rain from Body Time, Chanel No. 5 in soap is exquisite and the Moroccanoil bar is good until I find a more Moroccan/spicy incense bar to replace it.

    C. Please, please, please bring back Dark Passage!!! :)

  18. meg says:

I live in the US and my favorite Tauer is Une Rose Chypree. Thanks!!

  19. duck1 says:

    My favorite is Incense Rosé.

  21. Atreau says:

I live in the US, my favorite scented soap is Lush Snowcake.

  22. Quarry says:

I live in the U.S. My favorite Tauer is L ’Air du Desert Marocain. Husband and I love a soap called Earth Bar–black tea leaves, hemp seed oil, lavender, cedarwood, patchouli, sweet almond oil. I also swoon over L’Ombre dans L’Eau in soap bar form.

  23. Jemi says:

I live in the U.S., and you have permission to use my e-mail address.

    a) My favorite Tauer scent is Lonestar Memories.
    b) My favorite scented soap is Etro.
    c) I wish Andy Tauer would make . . . his fragrances more readily accessible at a shop close to me?

Thank you so much for the draw!!

  24. calrayo says:

I live in the US. I alternate between bar soap and shower gel; right now I have Pacifica’s Persian Rose gel, and a bar of some local hippie dippy anise soap. Both are wonderful and suit different moods, and while both are strongly scented in the shower itself, neither linger on my skin and therefore don’t interfere with any other perfume.

  25. Rappleyea says:

Out of the clear blue a couple of weeks ago, I received a sample of Tauer’s Miriam (along with the DVD, both from Surrender to Chance – I think I must have won something), and it is by far my favorite Tauer. Love it!!

I live in the U. S. (although Tuscany sounds nice…) and you have my permission to use the email address associated with my account.

  26. bellemoon says:

How exciting! I live in the U.S. My favorite soap is the gardenia from Pretty Baby Herbal Soap.

  27. ockeghem says:

I live in the U.S. My favorite Tauer perfume is L’air du Desert Marocain, followed by Une Rose Chypree and Incense Rose. My favorite soap isn’t really that scented, but it’s beautiful — made by a Benedictine monastery near Salzburg in the shape of a rose.

  28. Sydscents says:

Ooh I always wanted to try a Tauer soap. My current favorite Tauer is Carillon Pour un Ange. I live in the US. You have permission to use my email address, etc.

  29. OperaFan says:

    I live in the US.
My favorite Tauer changes constantly, but I do love L’AdDM and Vetivir Dance, and I would love to try this soap!
    .

  30. sbe13 says:

I live in the US. I have never had the pleasure of trying an Andy Tauer, but when I finally get to sample one, my guess is that I’ll love L’air du Desert Marocain the best. My favorite scented soap is either Diptyque Tam Dao (also a fave perfume of mine) or the L’occitane soap that is the milk scent…mmmmmmm :)

  31. Mary Carol says:

My favorite Tauer scent is Orange Star. Love it!

I’m going to have to give a third vote for the “jasmine bomb” perfume as something I’d like to see Andy make.

Right now, my favorite scented soap is Red Poppy by Claus Porto. Not actually a poppy smell. (Do they really have much of a scent?). It does have a nice lightly spicy smell, and the bar is huge, so it lasts forever.

I live is the US and you have permission to use my e-mail address. Thanks to Andy and Robin for the drawing!

  32. Sajini says:

Wow great giveaway.and so glad to hear their shipping is back on track. I live in the US. I got a sample of L’air de desert Morocain and both my husband and I think it smells like Jane Russell just lit a beeswax candle in a hay barn.. It’s the only Tauer I’ve smelled, and it’s my favorite. Favorite scented soap is geranium orange from Neals Yard. I’d love Andy to do something with a bit of frankincense.

  33. LCT says:

I love Lonestar Memories. I wear it when I’m in a plaid shirt, jeans and a ponytail kind of mood. I live in the US and thanks for the draw!

  34. fleurdelys says:

I live in the US. I love Andy’s retro-style Miriam, and wish he would do a carnation fragrance. Thanks for the draw!

  35. Gennyleigh says:

I live in the US and you can use my email address. I’m currently wearing Une Rose Chypree by Andy.

  36. Kathryn says:

I live in the US and you have permission to use my email address.. My favorite Tauer perfume is Une Rose Chypree. Lately my favorite scented soap has been Yves Rocher’s Tradition de Hammam because its cozy oriental scent goes well with the perfumes I wear this time of year. I hope that Andy’s next scent will surprise me with something I’ve never quite imagined, as many of his creations have done before. Thanks for this draw!

  37. poodle says:

I live in the US and you can use my email.
I haven’t tried all the Tauer scents but two that I love are Incense Rose and Lonestar Memories. Miriam is pretty nice too. I’d love to try one of Andy’s soaps so thanks for the chance.

  38. Joanne says:

I live in the US and you may use my e-mail.
I’ve only tried the Miriam, which was just “okay” for me. I do love scented soaps, and I’d love to try one of Tauer’s–he always seems such a gentleman in every thing I’ve read about him. How nice is that?!!

  39. FeralJasmine says:

I live in the US and you’re welcome to use my email. I love Incense Rose, I love perfumed soap, and I swoon for tuberoses! It seems meant to be. Thanks so much, all of you, for doing the giveaway.

  40. eliza says:

I live in the US and you can use my e-mail. My favorite Tauer is Carillon Pour un Ange. Normally, I do not wear scented soap because I don’t want it interfering with my perfumes and I don’t want to be stuck with the scent for as long as it takes to use up the bar. However, I would gladly have days and days of a Tauer scent :)

  41. ceciliat says:

I live in the US and you can use my email. My favorite is L’air du desert Morocain, but I would love to try this tuberose. This note has been difficult for me — it seems to be overwhelmingly sweet in so many tuberose-centric fumes so I’d love to find something (even a soap) that is more true to the actual flower :-). As always, thanks for the draw!

  42. jennykatzmusic says:

Ah, the tuberose, I love you so! I just tried “Zeta,” though, and think that *it* would make a pretty darn good soap, too. I’m in the US and would love to be entered for this draw! Thank you!
    Hugs to all! Jenny

  43. squirrelmilk says:

I live in the US and you have permission to use my email to contact me. My favorite Andy Tauer is L’Air du Desert Marocain; my favorite scented soap is Diptyque Do Son.

  50. kes77 says:

I live in the US and you may use my email.

    My favorite Tauer is Miriam.

  51. Suzy Q says:

My favorite scented soap is Pacifica Mediterranean Fig. My local Whole Foods used to carry it and now they don’t. NOT happy about that.

I live in the U.S. and you have my permission…

  52. chrisskins says:

I live in the USA and I love bar soap. My favorite scented soap is Rance. My favorite soap that I can actually get my hands on is Cetaphil bar soap (really).

  53. Fernando says:

I live in the US. My favorite Tauer fragrance? Hard to choose, but let’s say L’Air du Desert for me, Rose Chypree for my wife. And if this soap is anything like the Loretta soap he made last year, it’s my favorite scented soap!

  57. hajusuuri says:

Wow, how cool is this? My fave Andy Tauers are a toss-up between URC and Loretta, and my favorite scented soap (so far) is Diptyque’s Tam Dao. Would love to see Andy’s take on jasmine. I live in the U.S. Thanks so much for this draw!

  62. mough says:

LOVE L’AdDM, and Orange Star, the BEST for a crisp, fall day in WY. I am from the US of A. Favorite soap would be, at present, Carnation by Roger and Gallet. Not sure on that spelling. Could be backwards, even…I love any great flowery soaps, esp. tuberose, gardenia, etc. Jasmine. Scented body cremes would be fab! Great success to all Tauer Endeavors in 2013!

  63. garamascara says:

I live in North Cackalacky, USA. I am currently finishing up a bar of Nicolai Rose soap and I love it, I feel like it is good mojo for romance. I would love to try a bar of Mr. Tauer’s tuberose soap. Thank you!

I live in the USA. My favorite Tauer is Lonestar Memories.

My favorite soap is “White hyacinth” from the gift shop of Buckingham Palace.

  65. NaturalSelektion says:

I live in the US and you can use my email. I absolutely love L’Air Du Desert Marocain. It has the propensity to be overwhelming at times… but when it’s the right time it’s absolutely decadent! Thank you so very much.

  68. Taffy says:

So glad Andy is able to ship again!

  83. Joe says:

Nice draw! I live in the US.

I think my favorite Tauer is Carillon pour un Ange; my favorite soap recently is a Sandalwood made by a small NJ company called LEH Soap Company. I’d LOVE to see Tauer do another iris, since I never was able to smell his Orris that I’ve heard so much about.

  84. Emily says:

    Oh, this sounds divine.

    1) My favorite Tauer is kind of not a Tauer; it’s his Lys du Desert for Luckyscent Decennial. In the actual Tauer line, I wouldn’t mind a bottle of Incense Rose or Lonestar Memories. 2) Favorite scented bar soap is a frangipani from Australia that I’ve never been able to satisfactorily replace in the US. 3) I’m going to go retro and wish for a Tauer carnation.

I live in the US and you may contact me via my account’s e-mail address.

  85. andregooren says:

I live in the United States.

  93. blauriche says:

I live in the US. These days all I can think of are vanilla type fragrances, though perhaps it’s because I haven’t found the one I’m searching for yet. I haven’t been able to try Tauer perfumes yet. I was going to order samples from his site one day but it was right when he announced he couldn’t ship to America for the time being.

  94. jepster says:
