Lanvin Marry Me a la Folie ~ new fragrance

Posted by Robin on 10 January 2013 10 Comments

Lanvin Marry me à la Folie

Lanvin will launch Marry Me à la Folie, a new limited edition flanker to 2010′s Marry Me! For Women and a follow-up to last year's Marry Me! Love Edition. The floral fragrance for women celebrates young love and pays tribute to designer Alber Elbaz's passion for neon.

The notes include bitter orange, blackcurrant, rose, jasmine, musk and cedar.

Lanvin Marry Me à la Folie will launch in February; I will update with sizes and concentration when I can.

Update:  Marry Me à la Folie is in 50 ml Eau de Parfum.

Probably, although I’ve still never smelled the original.

Snooze fest as well. The early early Lanvin perfumes are divine…but the resent ones…not so much ;)

I cry for the house of Lanvin’s perfumes. There’s not only such a terrible disjoint between both the house’s classic perfumes and their current (although I do think modern Arpege is pretty decent), but also between the wonderful designs of Alber Elbaz and the perfumes. I feel like Elbaz designs for women, but the perfumes seem targeted at… I don’t know who. I can’t imagine many teens are even very aware of Lanvin. Barf.

Really true…and it surprises me. Either he doesn’t care about perfume, or doesn’t know about perfume, or lacks the power to do anything about it. You would think they’d have done one decent grownup scent by now.

(I do think Rumeur was an attempt, but I hated it)

I know it’ll never happen, but I wish they’d bring back Scandal in a reasonably faithful reorchestration. I’d buy enough to make it worth their while (ha).

I know that “je t’aime a la folie” means something along the lines of “I am madly in love with you” or “I love you to distraction” (which I guess is what “Marry Me a la Folie” is getting at?), yet my brain translates the name of this fragrance as “Marry me, fool.” Kinda like how I imagine Mr. T popped the question to Mrs. T.

No lemmings for me today..oh well, sometimes it’s better that way! At least my wallet thinks so.

What a cheap looking bottle for such an esteemed brand.
