Huitieme Art Parfums Poudre de Riz ~ new fragrance

Huitième Art Parfums Poudre de Riz

Niche line Huitième Art Parfums has launched Poudre de Riz:

“The air in the closed room was filled with heavy scents: soap, face powder and the pungent smell of an Eau de Cologne.”

“Poudre de Riz” was inspired by this sentence from the novel “Hell” by Henri Barbusse written in 1908. A delicate ambery scent that recalls the charm of a forgotten era with a chord of rice powder in combination with rose petals, the eternal sensuality of Monoi oil and vanilla beans.

Additional notes include sandalwood, iris, cedar, tonka bean, tolu and benzoin.

Huitième Art Parfums Poudre de Riz is available in 50 ml Eau de Parfum, and can be found now at First in Fragrance in Germany.

Hmm. I do like the scent of rice powder but JM Vanilla & Anise and L’artisan Bois Farine do the trick for me. Galimard used to do a room spray called Poudre de Riz that would have worn well as a personal scent.

There are so many cosmetic powder fragrances at the moment that you can have your pick :-)

Oh, the scent of old-fashioned face powder! Should be lovely.

Sounds quite comfy and cozy for the cooler months ahead judging by the notes. I may have to give this a try.

Not sure, this description does not seem to be evocative to me. Is it just me?
I love the line though, would definitely try this out when I get my hands on a tester or a sample.

Btw, I have read Hell (L’Enfer) by Henri Barbusse. That sentence is probably the only one in the entire book that can be quoted on a public platform. LOL!
