True Blood Forsaken ~ new fragrance

Posted by Robin on 16 August 2012 18 Comments

Forsaken perfume, True Blood

Forsaken is the new fragrance inspired by the HBO television series True Blood:

Forsaken will be available to consumers in an Eau de Parfum, a body cream and shimmering body veil powder. The fragrance is evocative of the dark and seductive world of True Blood, capturing the soul of the show and combining it with trendsetting, iconic products. Prominent fragrance house Givaudan developed Forsaken with an addictive blend of light and dark notes. Pulpy fruits paired with crisp pear notes are followed by mid notes of night blooming jasmine, also fittingly known as Queen of the Night. The scent closes with the dark muskiness of amber and patchouli. Ultra feminine, yet sultry, the fragrance will cast a spell on everyone.

True Blood Forsaken is available through HSN, and will debut elsewhere later in the year. The scent is sold in 50 ml Eau de Parfum and matching home and body products.

My inner goth girl is muttering ‘ooh yes’ in a suitably glum manner. I love True Blood and Eric Northman …oh yes, to hell with Bill- go Eric! I will have to smell this – please let it smell like a fit to such an adult series. Please. Did I mention please?
    The pear concerns me though…

Yes indeed, nothing says “dark and vampiric” like pear…

Most of the reviews on the HSN and fragrantica tout it as a fresh, clean, floral, unfortunately though predictably.

I do love how the jewels resemble blood drops.

I want so much to wear this and find a tall, Viking vampire at my door. His invitation will always be open. :-)

A fresh scent doesn’t sound “seductive”.

    Ah, I quote:
“The fragrance is evocative of the dark and seductive world of True Blood, capturing the soul of the show and combining it with trendsetting, iconic products. (…) Ultra feminine, yet sultry, the fragrance will cast a spell on everyone.”

Just when I thought the fragrance industry could not get more ridicilous – this. A fragrance flanker of a TV-serie populated with characters looking like rabid rabbits with maladjusted front teeth. Tadaaa!

…and I apologize for my perhaps rude behaviour by not presenting my self, as the earlier post is the firts here on NST: I am Swedish, and an ignorant rookie among perfumistas but very keen to learn. I adore the witty and insightful writings of Robin, Angela and Kevin and use NST as a good morning and a good night information/entertainment source almost on a daily basis.

Oh, no need to present yourself, we’re very informal! But welcome :-)

I wish they’d do one for Vampire Diaries. I would not be able to resist.

Damon is the *hottest* vampire to grace the screen with his presence, imho :) I would be a sucka for this as well!!
