Royal Crown ~ new niche line

Royal Crown line

Royal Crown is a new-ish Italian niche line founded by Antonio Martino. They debut with seven fragrances: Musk Ubar, Rain, Tabac Royal, Celebration, Poudre de Fleurs, Tenebra and Noor.

Musk Ubar ~ for men. “Musk Ubar by Royal is a fragrance verging on the divine; noble and wild, with a bewitching power. Angelica, wormwood and geranium provide a sensational and spicy start. The triumvirate of rose, jasmine and galbanum in the heart exude a beguiling sensuality that heightens its erotic character upon a bed of musk and ambergris. A vibrant homage to the daring spirit of a great captain or adventurer…”

Rain ~ for men. “Rain by Royal Crown is a contemporary, yet also classic and elegant fragrance for men that evokes images of fresh spring rain. Rain preludes with crisp, luminous citric notes of tangerine leaves, bergamot and neroli that lead to a heart of jasmine, rose and reseda. A base of sandalwood provides a woody undertone complemented by heliotrope, vetiver and ambergris. Rain belongs to an adventurer, looking for unknown lands, who loves large open spaces and likes to explore the hidden spirit of faraway places.”

Tabac Royal ~ for men. “Royal Crown presents us with a majestic tobacco: Tabac Royal. A rich, complex and elegant fragrance created for charismatic men looking for sensuous and refined evening fragrances. Tabac Royal starts with a spicy firework of cinnamon, lemon and pink pepper. The fragrance’s namesake declares its strong presence in the heart accompanied by heliotrope and notes of vanilla. Masculine sandalwood, tobacco and a tart patchouli round off this composition.”

Celebration ~ unisex. “Royal Crown celebrates Italy’s 150th anniversary with an exciting unisex fragrance! Only the best Mediterranean ingredients have been encased in an elegant crystal flacon to mark this national celebration. This remarkable fragrance opens with citrus fruits that meet a sunny blend of spearmint, tangerine and bergamot, which is flanked by lilies and iris notes…”

Poudre de Fleurs ~ for women. “Sophisticated and assertively feminine, Poudre de Fleurs perfectly embodies the glamour and refinement of a precious jewel. After well-tempered fresh notes of neroli, tangerine and lime leaves, we arrive at a floral heart of rose, jasmine and gardenia, which in turn is backed by a savvy base composed of vanilla, patchouly and sandalwood. This opulent floral bouquet is the incarnation of absolute sensuality…”

Tenebra ~ for women. “Tenebra by Royal Crown can truly be described as the incarnation of seduction in its purest form. A fresh trio of neroli, bergamot and heliotrope leads Tenebra directly to the carnal desires of the heart. What else other than tuberose could have its finger in the pie here and rightly so! Its lustful nature is reinforced by vanilla, iris and a passionate warm labdanum. Bulgarian rose, narcissus and also violets belong to the beguiling floral notes which provide, in conjunction with wood, tobacco, ambergris and honey the erotic allure of a daring haute couture dress…”

Noor ~ for women. “Noor by Royal Crown sees itself as a profound exploration into the feminine universe. The result is a sophisticated, oriental fragrance for a woman of character, untamed and tremendously attractive. In the top notes, coriander, ylang-ylang and elemi already divulge the complexity of the fragrance. A mysterious heart of opoponax, patchouly and jasmine blend together and rest upon a smoky- incense base of benzoin agarwood, myrrh and vetiver that creates the grand finale…”

Royal Crown Musk Ubar, Rain, Tabac Royal, Celebration, Poudre de Fleurs, Tenebra and Noor are available now at First in Fragrance in Germany, 100 ml Eau de Parfum for €435.

“What else other than tuberose could have its finger in the pie here and rightly so!” = my belly laugh of the morning.

Same here ! And given the carnal connotations ‘pie’ can have, references to fingers in pie is in poor taste. Admittedly, it is probably a translation issue along the lines of Kennedy’s ‘ Ich bin ein Berliner’ comment. But still!

“finger in the pie” is an English idiom

      Yes!

Sounds like a finger in the eye more than in a pie! Tabac Royale is one I’d try, but the others just seem to be too much. Celebration has citrus, mint, iris, and lilly? Really? Do you need all of those AND spearmint to make a fragrance. Sure, you’ll be noticed, but for what?
I think I’m burning out on new fragrances. It’s overwhelming.

Noor sounds tempting but as far the others go no, thanks. If I want to smell that minty, I’ll use Scope as an eau de cologne!

As funny as the “finger in the pie” comment is, the whole Royal Crown name is even funnier living here in a Southern border state. A typical snack at a back-country gas station would be: “An RC cola an’ a moon pie.” But you’ve got to make sure to get the right pronunciation of “pie”! It’s about three syllables!

Whereas my first thought (especially when seeing those fugly caps) was Crown Royal. Do these come in little purple sacks?

Those bottle tops are so silly! They look like those rear-window air fresheners that were popular for a while …

really, I think are beautiful bottles – jewel and their packaging is amazing! Certainly, it is my opinion;)

Seems like every Italian line that comes out is very citrus-heavy up top. Noor’s list of notes made me look twice, since there was no bergamot.

Not that there is anything wrong with that – I enjoy citrus as much as anyone – it just makes me not especially interested in pursuing the line. I remember Luckyscent had a sample pack of some new Italian line and I almost fell for it, but then I read the notes lists and they all seemed a variation on a theme.

    I love spearmint in perfume.

Wait a minute. This guy was a politician? This would akin to Donald Rumsfeld launching a fragrance line here in the US.

Rumsfeld’s first fragrance could be called “Unknowns.” Then he could launch two flankers, “Known Unknowns” and “Unknown Unknowns.”

And it could be launched simultaneously east, west, south and north somewhat.

Four hundred and how many Euros for the bottle? At that price point you would have to be at least twice as great as Amouage Lyric or whatever your favorite from that line is. I think my first few apartments cost less per month than this stuff (mind you that was almost 20 years ago). I am not even tempted.

Sooo….men get to run around having adventures, and women get to be dressed up and sexy. Gee, how freaking far we’ve come.

    I hate marketing.

A little cranky today, aren’t we? I send you all to bed with a spritz of Jacomo #8 (or other comfort scent of your choosing) and a nap!

Yeah, I have been lately. I definately need to stop reading political blogs for a while.

It’ll get easier after the caucuses. Once the Republican candidates move thier campaigns out of the statee, they’ll be easier to ignore/avoid.

If I could just match the runners to those of Carroll’s creatures…but as it is and with all the bloviating it’s impossible to pick just one Dodo…

Hahahahaha! I love the caucus race in Alice in Wonderland! I can only imagine how all consuming it must be to be in a state where the candidates put so much attention. Being in Oregon, we’re lucky if they come through here at all! Wait, did I say lucky? I mean, we’re mostly blessed with their absence!

In an ordinary election year, we wouldn’t have this relentless drive to annoy Io…excuse me, I meant dedicated campaigning in the state of Iowa. Sorry about that.

But this time around? Several of them haven’t even left the state for more than a day or two! It is the most frustrating thing in the world that (Bachmann in particular) they just won’t go freakin’ home!

Why is the Iowa caucus still looked upon as such an indicator, anyway? Particularly now that everyone know’s how farcial the Republican Straw Poll is as well? It’s like still buying porkbellies as an investment.

Noor does sound interesting. But yes. One more niche line with some pretension and 6 fragrances out “for starters”? Puhleeeeese.

    I love this New Line!!
I’m from Armenia , and purchase in Fortnum and Mason , in London this Christmas TABAC ROYAL , i think is amazing, the aroma of tobacco has never heard before, a delicate but incisive (and very very persistent)
certainly is not cheap, but I find it much more interesting when compared to fragraze so expensive as Clive Christian!
