Kinski Eau de Toilette ~ new fragrance

Kinski Eau de Toilette

New at Colette in Paris is a fragrance in honor of actor Klaus Kinski, Kinski Eau de Toilette:

Produced under licence to the Kinski Foundation to mark the 20th anniversary of the actor’s death, KINSKI the fragrance is a richly decadent, textured scent with heady top notes including cassis, juniper and castoreum; a heart with oceanic notes inspired by Kinski’s love of the sea; and a base of animalic and woody notes that reflect his own almost feral sensuality.

The bottle design is an expressionistic rendering of Kinski’s own face, fragmented like the actor’s splintered personality.

Kinski Eau de Toilette is available in 100 ml, €117 exclu. VAT.

Castoreum in the top notes? Crikey. Am interested to sniff this if the opp arises despite worrying references to oceanic notes…..

Yeah, if it wasn’t for the aquatic notes I’d be highly interested.

Was this a Geza Schoen, I wonder – only because the bottle is one the the EM styles – well, the whole thing gives me EM/A Beautiful Mind vibes.

Oh, good eye — you’re right. Colette is never highly informative, so we’ll have to wait & see.

Well this would certainly be interesting.

Where’s the note for manky crazy?

I think the combo of cassis, juniper + castoreum ought to cover that ;-)

Just tried this tonight since I received it randomly with a split. It’s actually kind of an interesting, complex masculine. Smoky, peppery, woody, with a really good animalic base. Worth trying.

I’d say there’s nothing appreciably “oceanic” in the usual sense; maybe very briefly when first applied, and more salty than aquatic, but barely perceptible and short lived, at least to my nose.

    And yes, according to LuckyScent:
“… a new fragrance from the team behind the cult fragrance brand Escentric Molecules: Geza Schoen, Jeff Lounds and Me Company.”

Longer list of notes there as well:
Cassis, juniper berry, schinus molle (Peruvian pepper) [aka pink pepper AFAIK], castoreum, marijuana acccord, nutmeg, plum, orchid, magnolia, orange flower, rose, benzoin, vetiver, cedar, patchouly, styrax, cistus, costus (ginger), musk, moss, ambergris

This was really good on me… Didn’t get any aquatic notes, just spice and a bt of sweetness.
