David Yurman Limited Edition ~ new fragrance

David Yurman Oud

David Yurman has launched David Yurman Oud David Yurman Limited Edition,* a new limited edition fragrance for women:

David Yurman fulfills the desire for a distinctive scent that is exotic and intense. It resonates with femininity and the lure of attraction. Rarified ingredients like natural Agarwood, one of the most prized woods found in the Middle East that works in synergy with exquisite Rose Taif, a cross between a Bulgarian and Turkish Rose. In keeping with its individuality, the David Yurman Limited Edition is dressed in the splendor of a faceted crystal bottle in a plush Persian red, and adorned with a sculpted gold cap inspired by David Yurman’s iconic cable design. The iconic bottle is presented in a luxurious Persian red lacquered box that can also be used as a jewelry box.

David Yurman Oud Limited Edition can be found now at Saks Fifth Avenue, $250 for 75 ml, concentration unknown.

Aaargh! Why can’t IFRA ban faux oud?

Exactly. Ban oud (and triple-ban oud + rose), bring back my oakmoss, LOL…

I heartly second (and third) your comments, Lil & Robin! After that last article from Wired I feel like doing my own protest sit-in at IFRA hq.

Occupy IFRA! Oakmoss and hydroxycitronellal are the 99%! (Well, technically they are the 1%, because ethyl alcohol is the 99%, but you get the point.)

            Lil that’s really funny!

Ah well, see corrections above — at least it is not *called* Oud, although it does appear to be a rose + oud fragrance all the same.

told ya, every ‘expensive’ brand is doing Oud now LOL

soon Chanel and Cartier might as well follow

It is getting kind of amusing, which is too bad because for all I know this one is fabulous.

Can we also ban overpriced chain jewelry which, apart from the designer’s name, is distinguished by clunkiness?

Would love to see some original ideas instead of everyone just hopping on the bandwagon for the “quick buck.” Think I’ll keep my focus on the Indies…

In total agreement with Lil, LaMaroc, and Robin! The fact that for me oud is rather “meh” simply adds to my desire to be snarky this morning (that and a cold damp fog…)

It sounds promising, even though oud is kind of last year. For that price, if I want woods and roses, I’ll just go and get some OJ Ta’if….

Does anyone know if the David Yurman fragrance line is any good? The garish colored juices have kept me far at bay. Are they all this expensive?

The Trish McEnvoy Oud was a bit of an abomination.

The original David Yurman edp is pretty decent. I have a small bottle of that and I do like to wear it every once in a while – sometimes I think it smells pretty good and other times it bores me. I got it in a swap – I don’t know if I’d pay full price for it. I think it would actually be a very nice masculine fragrance. I’ve not tried the other ones in colored juice that were released last spring.
