Hanae Mori No. 3 ~ new perfume

Hanae Mori No. 3

Hanae Mori has launched the third fragrance in the Eau de Collection range (see Hanae Mori No. 1 and Hanae Mori No. 2).

Sunrise. Midday. Sunset. These three golden moments inspire N° 3, the new limited-edition eau de toilette from Hanae Mori Paris, unbinding new elegance day into evening. Each drop of N° 3 bears a golden hue from three types of sunflowers from France. Ingredients were gathered on three continents and blended by hand to render this scent of three alluring notes. Three is its statement of timelessness: rich heritage, chic present and beautiful future in each unforgettable spray. Three are the natural energy sources—sun, wind and air—that power one-third of its making. Three are the words in the greatest statement in life and giving: I love you.

Hanae Mori No. 3 is a limited edition, and is available in 100 ml Eau de Toilette. It can be found now at Nordstrom. (via nordstrom)

I love the first Hanae Mori soooo much!

None of the sunflowers I grew ever had much beyond that nice “plant” smell. Hanae Mori No. 1 is one of my fave “happy” perfumes with all the tart berries going on and No. 2 looked nice for summer. I don’t know what to think of this one since the description is so vague, but the reference to sunflowers reminds me of that Sunflowers perfume my SIL practically takes a bath in. *cringe* I hope it doesn’t resemble that one, no offence to Sunflowers lovers.

I totally agree. Sometimes i buy my wife sunflowers for her birthday or v-day because they are her favorite, and they look so pretty but they smell sort of planty (as you say).

I’m with you, Absolute, about no. 2. Tried it out a few weeks ago and thought it might be good to retry when the weather gets warmer. If no. 3 is supposed to be summer, not sure where they would place no. 2?

Marjorie Rose, thanks for your thoughts on HN No. 2. I’ll have to try it since I’m still searching for a suitable replacement for my long gone and beloved Shiseido Relaxing.

Maybe No. 1 works for winter, No. 2 for spring with all the green-ness, and No. 3 for summer? That would give me hope for autumn being especially lovely. I didn’t recall any particular theme when the first LE came out, but No. 1 is great for winter. I was worried it would be too much like Butterfly, but they’re different enough that owning both isn’t redundant. No. 1 reminds me of an Escada LE’s older sister in a good way.

No. 3, however, is not even sparking remote interest. Who knows? Hopefully I’ll be wrong and it will be fabulous, but yes, I don’t think sunflowers are known for fragrance though they’re beautiful and the rabbits and squirrels in my yard can’t stay away from them, either.

Tomato leaves, otoh, I’d happily roll around in and would spray a good rendition all over myself. I love that smell and am always rubbing the leaves on my hands when I grow them so it will linger for a while! :)

Simple Originals makes a Tomato Blossom lotion that is really very nice, and paraben free. Made w/ “natural botanical extraits.” Since it’s a lotion, and not a body butter, it works best in summer when the natural humidity is higher.

It’s incredibly vague, and no list of notes. Oh well. I did smell either #1 or #2 but now I can’t even remember which one.

The first Hanae More, with the vanilla notes, is so amazing. I love the way it smells on my wife.

    # 2 was definitely more of a summery fragrance.

I will try to grab a sample of #3 at the store so my wife can try.

The press release sounds wonderful, however if I want a ‘planty’ smell, I would rather roll around on a tomato plant.
Sunflowers are beautiful, but not exactly known for the scent.

I really love the bottle—that little asymmetrical stone(?) cap is fabulous! Not that a pretty bottle will entice me at this point; sunflowers? No thanks. But nicely done on the bottle!

It is butterfly wings. I have a bottle of the first one (it is just called Hanae Mori but I think it is also referred to as “Red Butterflies”) and it is quite pretty. As is the pink silk pashmina they were offering as a GWP. ;)

Two is the number of eyes that could not stay open. Two licks of sense were not found. Two is the only even prime number. One half is how much I care. Two thumbs down for the bizzare, uninformative copy.

Two is the number of R’s that are found in the word “bizarre.” Two cheeks aflame with embarrassment. Two divided by two is the number of typos I made.

I think I should start mailing around my resume. B3

LOL! Typos are always forgiven, since we make plenty of our own.

I thought the Prix de Faux contest was over…? :-) Sunflowers grow abundantly here and while I love their hardy cheerfulness, they don’t smell like anything much. So I have no idea what this new scent will be like, which reduces my wanting to try it proportionately. Kind of hard to imagine bottling “I love you” anyway. (warning: writer may be excessively grumpy due to more snow and sleet on the way)

It’s my favorite of the Eau de Collection. All are fruity florals but IMHO this one’s the best. : )

Nordstrom has #4! 4 has been my lucky/favorite # for as long as I can remember so I can only hope it’s the best one yet. Notes: pink florals, Sicilian bergamot, black currant, French marigold, orange blossom, wild strawberry, tonka bean, tea rose, toffee, white peach, purple sage, benzoin, Siam patchouli, Tahitian vanilla. http://shop.nordstrom.com/s/hanae-mori-eau-de-collection-n-4-nordstrom-exclusive/3205596?origin=category&resultback=0
