Gorilla Perfumes at Lush Tuca Tuca ~ new perfume

Tuca Tuca by Gorilla Perfumes at Lush

Lush has introduced a new fragrance range, Gorilla Perfumes at Lush. The debut perfume is Tuca Tuca:

It’s that fun and flirtatious girl inside us all – she’s mischievous with a naughty sense of humour and an infectious giggle. She likes to dance like no-one’s watching and run through park sprinklers with abandonment, just because she can. [...]

Like any good summer day, Tuca Tuca starts with a blast of fresh summer air, violet top notes accompany a rich floral feel from cassie absolute. As the sun reaches midday the warm vanilla and ylang ylang move the perfume into its middle notes and then, as the sun sets, we’re left with a slightly naughty violet leaf and vetivert bottom, the end to a perfect day!

Gorilla Perfumes at Lush Tuca Tuca is available in 27g (£23) or 9g (£11); a matching massage bar is also sold. Purchases come with a code for a free mp3 download of Lush’s cover version of Raffaella Carra’s ‘Tuca Tuca’, the song that inspired the fragrance. The fragrance can be found now at Lush in the UK. Quite lovely – I impulsively bought a 10ml a couple of days ago. The drydown is a *bit* sweet for my taste, but overall I revel in it – imagine the creamiest, butteriest banana wrapped in a violet leaf.

I didn’t know Lush had a fragrance line
and I didn’t they had it over in the U.S ?

They’ve always done fragrances, yes. Assume this one will get to the US soon, but it isn’t online yet.

Violet leaf and banana sounds really lovely in an odd sort of way. And I love that the drydown isn’t full of caramelized vanilla musk. :)

FYI – I read elsewhere that this line is the result of the LUSH purchase of BNTBTBB. They’ll launch some new scents and some old from the former BNTBTBB line.

They already owned B Never, it was the same people, and yes, I read at Basenotes that they will relaunch some of the scents from that line.

Rock on! I was reading this thread for that reason: Breath of God and Cocktail first to be re-launched, I hope? But now I’m intrigued by this, too. Banana leaf you say? I liked the seaweed and banana notes in LadyBoy and violet sounds more up my alley than the amber base of that one…

My friend is a manager at a Lush store and she says they are bringing quite a few over from B, around fall. Not sure about Cocktail (which I love!) – but Dirty will be re-launched as Dirty Manspray, in a really neat tin-wrapped bottle.

        Dirty MANSPRAY?? Gosh, that’s funny!

I know! Love that name, haha.

P.S. Erin, Breath of God IS next!

This DOES sound nice! I don’t think a violet leaf and vetiver bottom sounds naughty, but it does sound to my taste.

P.S. Wearing this today, just got home and now the Vetiver is really kicking its boots up! But that gorgeous, buttery, overripe banana is still very present.

Check out the Gorilla Perfumes website, they have launched the full range now ( in the UK) including oldies like ‘Ginger’, and BNever favourites. Yay!

Tuca Tuca was definitely not the one for me. Unfortunately, it was migraine inducing. My favourite of the new line without a doubt is ‘The Smell of Freedom’. Unsuprising as I’m an Orientals sort of gal!
