Paco Rabanne Lady Million ~ new perfume

Paco Rabanne Lady Million fragrance

Paco Rabanne will launch Lady Million, the feminine “alter ego” of Paco Rabanne 1 Million, in July. The Lady Million fragrance is a fresh woody floral, and is fronted by model Dree Hemingway.

Lady Million was developed by perfumers Anne Flipo, Beatrice Piquet and Dominique Ropion; the notes include citron, raspberry, neroli, orange flower, jasmine, gardenia, patchouli and honey.

Paco Rabanne Lady Million will be available in 30, 50 and 80 ml Eau de Parfum. (via abc-luxe, osmoz.fr)

Update: In the US, Lady Million will launch at Sephora in September.  (via wwd)

Sounds like it has the potential to be a sweet, syrupy mess.

Yeah, I don’t know about the juice but I’d kind of like to wear that bottle on my finger…

And can someone please give that model a hairbrush?

or a front panel for her dress? the girls are about to make a showing!

looks like she’s wearing a poorly cut Hefty bag…that’s about to slip away!

hhmmm, my hair is messy….and I have a whole box full of those designer dresses just waiting to happen….where’s MY modelling contract?

            Forthcoming, no doubt! :)

Suzanne, I thought it was a trash bag, too. I mean I REALLY THOUGHT IT WAS A TRASH BAG.

Daisy, about the front of the dress: no kidding! I looked at it and thought, there’s a nip slip waiting to happen.

Teased hair seems to be in again lately…

There is “teased,” and then there is “woke up in the bushes after a night of drinking.” I think this is the latter.

well, the only thing that could make the statement “woke up in the bushes after a night of drinking.” any worse would be the qualifier: “…again….”
Dree H. is really pretty…but they’ve got her doing the “I’m a trashed hooker” thing and it’s not very appealing (at least to me)

I didn’t know who she was until I looked at the wikipedia link. She looks disturbingly unhealthy in that picture–it makes this look a lot better by comparison.

I still can’t figure out what she’s doing with her fingers. What is that? Is she holding something?

Miss Kitty, she is snapping her fingers. Remember:

I think that may be the desired effect! The “party girl” image. Much less cute in real life.

What is that woman doing, what is she wearing, and what is wrong with her hair????

they lost me at “raspberry” which , sorry folks, always ends up smelling like poo.

    • Posted on 27 May 2010

Agreed. I don’t even like Hot Couture, which seems to have a lot of fans.

    • Jill
      Posted on 27 May 2010

Raspberry is a tough note for me too, although I do like it in Bryant Park. Berries in general are hit-or-miss for me because there’s often the sweet and syrupy factor which isn’t necessarily my thing.

What a BAD, BAD concept! “Lady Million” sounds soooo stupid! 1 million is the original scent so why not “1 million for her” or “she” or “her”? But Lady is for something mature and sophisticated which this product really doesn’t want to be. It wants to be a cool, modern thing.
And the bottle… What does it have to do with gold except the color? It looks like a shaped crystal and not a gold bar. They used to cut diamonds and not gold!
This whole thing is just… SILLY!

      Why not “Millionairess”?

      • Posted on 27 May 2010

Paris Hilton has that trademarked already for a future flanker, but she might spell it “Millionheiress”.

    Posted on 27 May 2010

Her pose is… odd. And please, tell me she’s not making that finger-rubbing “money” gesture. (But then, what IS she doing with her hand?)

    • Daisy
      Posted on 27 May 2010

I assumed that is exactly what she’s doing with her fingers. I got the impression that she’s indicating she’s awaiting payment for “services rendered” (oh my!)

    • smellies
      Posted on 11 August 2010

on the add you will see she is clicking..she makes things appear by clicking..like a nice car and big diamond ring on her finger ect thats the pose

Citrus and honey, and orange blossom, actually sounds very nice. And the bottle is lovely too.
There’s a number of perfumes I wouldn’t have, if I paid attention to daft advertising. This might be another one of those.

I think this fragrance sounds luscious, gourmand, fruity-floral, perfect for a woman…a perfect complement to the men’s 1 MILLION fragrance!

The notes don’t sound half bad. I’m not sure when unkempt-and-slutty became a fashion statement though. Or why a scent called “Lady Million” needs to have a spokesperson who’s made to look like a cheap hooker who can’t afford a hairbrush until her next “encounter”….OK, yes, I’m crabby today but I at least I brushed my hair this morning :-)

The notes don’t sound bad, but then–is it a bad sign that this fragrance is credited to three perfumers? Things designed by committees are seldom brilliant.
I do like that there will be a 30 ml size, though. It seems as if it is hard to find smaller than 50 ml, and unless you really love a fragrance, you never use it up.
As for the model/photo, yeah, it’s slutty, but then so is a large proportion of advertising these days. Subtlety went out a long time ago.

I would like to sniff. low hopes of course! As for the model- I clicked on your link and she is the great grand-daughter of Ernest Hemingway! Interesting.

I smelt this perfume at the launch and saw the tralier for it..i really liked the trailer it is not as trashy as what the photo makes it out to be..it quite fun and classy.
I had a smell of this one and i was really impressed by the fragrance it was really beautiful on my skin and lasted from the launch until i got home around 6 hours later…it is a must try, dont wipe it off because of the model whom is ernest hemmingways great grandaughter (bree) that was for free

I don’t understand how this lady looks slutty. She looks like she doesn’t care either what we think, and that is probably not a bad thing.

I’m excited to try this out.

btw, what is a slut exactly?!

well, I tried it…on the paper, that is. I don’t know! I can never tell by that. i asked for a sample, and the saleswoman said it’s been launching for awhile, and therefore there are no samples. Weird. I thought it just came out. She said they would not be carrying it because it wasn’t doing well, double-weird. The perfume sales people are either super-helpful, or totally disinterested, over here in Canada! I did smell the Guilty though, and I think I’ll end up with that eventually, but I’m waiting first to see what the new opium and poison are like…though they are different birds, I can’t buy everything anymore!

It was kind of unpleasant to me. I don’t know why. The notes just don’t work together for me. I do like the bottle. Oh well. Can’t wait to hear what you think of it Robin. 1 million was fine but I know I’ve smelled something similar to it. Far better than Lady Million though! That’s for sure! : )
