DS & Durga Shake Shake Senora

Brooklyn-based indie perfumers D.S. & Durga have launched three new limited edition spring/summer fragrances for their collection at Anthropologie:

Shake Shake Senora (shown) ~ “A calypso melody is like a tropical flower. Island marigold, heliotrope & vanilla orchid.”

Petitgrain Sur Fleur ~ “A rare grade of orange blossom wood co-distilled with its blossoms. Rich tuberose & Provencal lavender.”

Pomelo Blossom ~ “Delicate pomelo blossom. Zesty pink grapefruit peel & white musk. For balmy summer nights.”

DS & Durga Shake Shake Senora, Petitgrain Sur Fleur & Pomelo Blossom are available in 50 ml, concentration unknown, for $58 each. (via press release)

I still haven’t tried that first round of DS&D/Anthropologie fragrances yet. Petitgrain looks good.

I need to get to Anthropologie for a sniffing expedition soon, for these and other items.

I do too…but my local Anthropologie isn’t so hot when it comes to testers.

I actually had an opportunity to try these briefly this weekend, and I think they’re probably worth a second sniff. The Senora is strong on the vanilla orchid, I am not sure what marigold smells like but I didn’t detect much heliotrope. However, later on it took on a very boozy, almost rum-like quality on me, which was somewhat fun if a little too sweet for my liking. The Pomelo was a very true smelling citrus that got quite bitter in the drydown, and I couldn’t see myself wearing it (and I’m a grapefruit freak) because it started to get sour. The Petitgrain was my favorite- simple and pretty floral while not being too “white-flowery”. None of them lasted particularly long (except of course for the sour drydown).

I’d love to hear some other opinions!

Oh thanks, those sound worth smelling at least!

I would almost buy Shake Senora for the name alone, conjuring up as it does the great Harry Belafonte and our misspent youth, when we were sweet-smelling and supple. Does anyone remember Beetlejuice? And the finale, with Winona Ryder dancing in midair to Shake, Senora? Here’s a link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ic87SfqQAAM. Watch for the youthful (and supple) Alec Baldwin, Michael Keaton, Geena Davis…..

Hi everybody, I’d like to buy Pomelo Blossom but I live in Paris, do you know where can I buy it in France or online?
    Thank you very much

You can buy it online at Anthropologie, but I do not know if they ship overseas, sorry!
