Les Parfums de Rosine Rosissimo ~ new fragrance

Les Parfums de Rosine Rosissimo cologne

French niche line Les Parfums de Rosine has launched Rosissimo, the line’s third fragrance for men (following Rose d’Homme and Twill Rose).

Rosissimo is a men’s perfume created to echo the originality of many garden roses emanating, surprisingly, a lemon fragrance with an occasional hint of grapefruit. A tribute to rich hidden depths of fresh roses, Rosissimo is a clear signature perfume whose strength and elegance will astonish.

The notes for the hesperidic floral include lemon, grapefruit, bitter orange, rosemary, verbena, jasmine, freesia, rose, precious woods, leather, cistus oil, fir Balsam, vetiver and tree moss.

Les Parfums de Rosine Rosissimo is available in 50 and 100 ml Eau de Parfum. (via les-parfums-de-rosine)

I wonder if this will be like Un Zeste de Rose with an herbal punch (caress?) from the rosemary. Leather in a man’s scent is nice–always evokes a sense of luxury. Tree moss is iffy—tends to go a little sour and when they say precious woods–is that code for Oud?
Still, Rosine does a really nice job so I’m sure to pick up a sample when I can (ie. there’s always a “next” sample order, right?). Never sniffed Twill Rose but Rose d’Homme is a gorgeous scent for a man or a woman!
Oh and a side note about their bottles….Nice frosted, hefty glass, the tassles are cute….but the manly cord tied around the cap gets in the way.

In my experience, “precious woods” usually means “a complex blend of synthetics that smells woody, but doesn’t smell like any specific wood that you could put your finger on”. Probably Santalol and Iso E Super and Ebanol and a few other things I’ve never heard of.

Still, this sounds nice, IF–and that’s a big if–it is really intensely rosy. Most men’s rose scents shy away from that, and I still haven’t found the absolutely perfect masculine rose scent, not for lack of trying.

well that just sounds yummy! lol….but it’s a Rosine and I like most of their line so it’ll be sniff worthy for sure.

No great men’s rose? wow, there’s so many too…I love Rose d’Homme with it’s slightly jammy, musky rose….and Lyric Man has a big almost tart rose….kind of opposite ends of the rose spectrum for me. So what men’s rose comes the closest for you? Now I’m all curious.

I found Montale Louban smells extremely similar to Lyric Man.

Pyramus, my perfect masculine rose is Montale Black Aoud (oh, la la… Arabian nights!). C&S Dark Rose is a good runner up with less in-your-face “punch.”

I think the LeLabo Rose 31 could be nice on a man – it is kind of peppery.

Could be, it sounds very citrusy.

I’ve never sampled this line – the word rose always scares me as i’m NOT a rose fan. The notes for this one make it sound like something I’d like though. Maybe not for my SO but for me.

They’ve got a gajillion rose perfumes, but they’re not all heavy on the rose, really.

I’m looking forward to trying this one and Une rose au bord de la mer.
I like this line. All of its fragrances are good quality rose scents. I prefer the fresher ones, like Écume de rose and Rose d’été.

So far, Ecume is the only one I ever bought. Didn’t store well though, unfortunately…

I had a bottle of Poussiere de Rose that turned, possibly before I received it, and I have and love Ecume de Rose. I hope mine lasts – is yours unwearable now? I also like Rosa Flamenca and Rose Kashmirie. This new one sounds good from the description!

Mine is mostly vinegar now, sadly. Lasted a couple years before it turned. Oh well.

Guess I’d better wear mine a lot this year, then. Darn – I really like Ecume!

Hey, who knows…maybe my bottle was old to begin with? You never know when you buy.

Rose perfumes are hard for me, I grow over 100 kinds with a focus on strongly scented or unusually colored ones, so maybe I get my fix that way!
The Rosines I have sampled have all been very nice tho!

Sounds really nice; I love rose scents on men (C&S No. 88, Cabaret, Lyric). Haven’t smelled Twill Rose and Rose d’Homme was too… Stetsony? for me personally – that dratted balsamic thing that just kills me.

This sounds great! I think I’m wishing that Une Zeste was more lemon-citrusy instead of being so rose-forward.

I also just received another vial of Rose dHomme in a swap and need to give that a proper wear… but it seems very elegant.

My fave citrus (orange) with a hint of rose (and LOTS of saffron) is still Diptyque Tarocco, to which I think many unjustly gave short shrift.

I have just tried it and it is gorgeous. I think I’m in love LOL
Fresh, unisex rose with a very noticeable verbena in the opening. I’ll have to wait to the drydown for the leather and the woods.

I tried Une rose au bord de la Mer and I loved it too. It could easily become my favourite in the line.

I just tried this in Paris and loved it. Sadly they didn’t have any samples left so all I had to go on was trying it in the store on my last day. My BF and I both loved it, but it didn’t last on him at all, and it did better on me, which is very unusual. I wonder how I missed Rose au Bord de la Mer, oh well, at least I mssed the 100 degree weather this week! Fresh but not too fresh, rose in the back seat, like with most of the Rosine fragrances, but not traditionally masculine smelling at all.
