Leslie Blodgett Perfume Diaries Golden Light ~ new perfume

Leslie Blodgett Perfume Diaries Golden Light

Leslie Blodgett of Bare Escentuals has launched Golden Light, a new fragrance in her limited edition Perfume Diaries series (see Perfume Diaries Bare Skin and Santa Barbara).

Like sunshine in a bottle, this bright and happy scent boosts your spirits and brings a smile with every spritz. Inspired by her happy-go-lucky summer days growing up (fresh squeezed lemonade, anyone?), Leslie Blodgett has turned a special childhood memory into a delightful new scent. An uplifting blend of crisp citrus, juicy fruits and mellow musk, this fresh fragrance, created exclusively for Sephora, warms both the heart and soul.

The notes include mandarin, kiwi, bergamot, red currant, water lily, honeysuckle, peony, teakwood, musk and orris.

Leslie Blodgett Perfume Diaries Golden Light is available in 50 ml Eau de Parfum (above center; $55), .07 oz solid perfume (above left; $35) or 10 ml Eau de Parfum rollerball (above right, $16), and can be purchased now at Sephora. (via sephora)

Another one? I just finally sniffed the second one – Malibu something or other. It was a standard fruity-floral to my nose, maybe a bit of something beach-y in there.

The first one was pretty good – I didn’t buy it because I already have several things like it that are better, but I thought it was well done.

They’re doing these really fast, aren’t they? The first two struck me as nice enough but no big deal.

I just sniffed the Skin one this week, it’s really very nice…if it were $35 not $55, I would have bought it…
Of course I have spent much more on unsniffed things that caught my attention on line, so its really unfair to Ms Blodgett!

Yes — I think that would be a more reasonable price for what these are.

I liked the spiciness of the Skin one, but it was really linear on me – I have enough spicy winter stuff. I agree, though, if it had been $30 – $35, I might have bought it.

    Who is Leslie Blodgett?

    Her fragrances never got here.

The bottle has that private brand look. It also looks like it should cost less, in the Yves Rocher / Body Shop range.

The pendant looks a bit flat to contain fragrance, even solid.

She’s the lady who created Bare Minerals make-up – I think that her scents are exclusive to Sephora.

I’m glad to see this in a rollerball option, however. If the first two come in the same, I’d be curious to pick them up and could live with myself for dropping only $16 a piece. This sounds like a lovely citrus though I’m not huge into peony and wonder how dominant that particular note would be.

I know the second one comes in a rollerball, and would think the first one did too?

Just echoing CynthiaW: Another one? Already? She should work on making a rollerball for Bare Skin, her first fragrance– which, might I add, is fantastic!

Just checked — there is one, but it’s in a set w/ all 3.

I’ll have to check that out. Where did you see it?

Never mind– just checked at Sephora. One more thing to put me in the poorhouse. :)

The trade mag Beauty Packaging was surprisingly critical of the Perfume Diaries Series – I can’t find the article online, but the jist of it was why would women want to wear someone else’s diary-inspired fragrance? The writer felt it was a big misstep in the brand.

Anyway, the first reminded me of a hybrid EL Sensuous, which I have.

Beyond that, it is, so far, not a terribly interesting diary — that is, they have not tied the scents to any compelling stories.

LOL! And here I was trying not to be snarky and evil!
