Baby Phat Dare Me ~ new fragrance

Kimora Lee Simmons Dare MeBaby Phat Dare Me perfume

Kimora Lee Simmons’ Baby Phat line has launched Dare Me, a new fragrance for women:

Dare to be seductive. This women’s clean and citrus Baby Phat scent by Kimora Lee Simmons will channel your inner desires.

The notes feature magnolia, green almond macaroon, neroli, coconut milk, honeysuckle, nectar, honey breche, white milkwood, musk, tonka bean and sandalwood.

Baby Phat Dare Me can be found now at Kohls, 30 ml Eau de Toilette for $28. (via kohls)

Update: Dare Me is the first Baby Phat fragrance that will launch directly in mass rather than prestige. In addition to the 30 ml, it will also be in 15 ml ($17) and in a “travel size” ($12.99). Women’s Wear Daily lists the notes as magnolia, island coconut, honeysuckle, white milkwood, creme de musk and sandalwood, and quotes Kimora Lee Simmons as saying “It’s fruity, but not overly fruity. It’s got a little fruit and floral with coconut — it’s very girly and sexy and spring-summery.” (via wwd)

“Honey breche”? Can that really be correct? Because a breche is a breach, a gap, or a hole, and so they seem to be saying that there is an element of their scent that they have decided to name “honey-hole”.

“Green almond macaroon” sounds kind of off, too. Green almonds are basically the fruit of the almond tree, and would you really make macaroons out of green almonds? Almond nuts, yes, but the fruit?

Thank god I am not in this demographic in any imaginable way.

I think in French it can also mean honey comb, although obviously you would not say “honey breche” in French. Why they’ve chose to describe it thus on such a low end scent I can’t say. Ditto on the green almond macaroon.

Yes, “miel en breche” = honey-comb. The “flacon” is “tres” camp !!

“Camp” is a nice way of putting it, I think. Eeek.

Ohhhhh. I wanna try! I wonder why are her fragrances getting the low end of the stick these days! Kohls? What happened to Macy’s??

She’s not alone, right? Britney’s last 2 launched into lower tier stores also. And someone else, too, the name will come to me later. Looks like this is what happens if your last release did not do gangbuster business: you’re in Target & Kohls instead of Macys & Dillards. Going to be interesting to see where J Lo Blue Glow appears.

I saw Britney Spears’ Hidden Fantasy at Macy’s in San Francisco and my Macy’s got Circus. When I was at Macy’s last week all traces of brit’s scents were gone, though. No Circus, no Curious, No FANTASY, no nothing.

My Macy’s didn’t get Circus at all, and unless I’m mistaken, Kohls had it right after it launched. They’ve still got a pretty good selection online, even older LEs like In Control Curious.

Sounds like some sort of custard-based dessert more than a fragrance, but I’ll smell it anyway. I actually liked Fabulousity for all it’s grape and fruit notes. The notes for Dare Me tempt my sweet tooth more than my nose. :)

I’ve not liked any of the other Baby Phat perfumes, but the almond and coconut does make this one sound more interesting. I imagine it’ll be too sweet though.

I smelled this 2day at Target and it smells just like Beyonce Heat. It gets more creamier on the skin then Heat which makes me like it more. I actually didnt mind the bottle. Its fine but I wont be needing any. I do like it more then the previous Baby Phat scents. : )
