Infusion de Tubéreuse is a “crisp floral with green notes”; notes include tuberose, petitgrain, blood orange and dynamone.

Infusion de Vétiver is “a fusion of green notes that is brisk and clean”; notes include vetiver, tarragon, pepper and purple ginger.

Prada does vetiver? I’m definitely trying this one!

I’d certainly give both a try. Anyone know what dynamone is?

I searched and found absolutely nothing. Dynamon is apparently a fertilizer, but somehow I don’t think that’s it.

Appears to be a chemical of some sort. It seems to also be in ELDO Delicious Closet Queen.

      “Tenacious faintly amber like odor”.

According to a post in The Scented Salamander blog: “Dynamone is the name of an aromachemical with an ambery character derived from cistus ladaniferus. It is reputed for its great diffusive power and its persistence although it is also acknowledged as being a tricky material to use in perfumery”

I wouldn’t mind sampling these, but there’s something about the other Infusions I’ve tried (Iris & Homme) that isn’t really to my taste. I swapped a bottle of Iris away in fact, though I kept a decant and can appreciate why many would like it. I’m still curious to try the Orange that everyone seems to hate.

    • Robin
      Posted on 20 February 2010

Blech. Don’t even like to think about the orange. Love all the others.

It smells like Red Bull with those little orange hard candies that come in the colorful wrappers plopped at the bottom. Which, if you add beer would give you Sparks. So, I would say it’s a pretty realistic Sparks accord. Now I actually want to try it again.

The orange one seriously smells like furniture polish to me :( .

I have a feeling that if they’re half good, they’ll do much better than the Fleurs d’Oranger.

These sound interesting, though I confess I’ve never sniffed the other Infusions. Or maybe I did try the Iris in Sephora back before I could claim Perfumista status…I can’t remember. Time to give this line a sniff.

Purple ginger is a flower–who knew? Learn something new every day. I love vetiver, but the tarragon and pepper are really off-putting to me. I haven’t liked any of the Pradas, but who knows, maybe there’ll be one for me yet.

I’m not getting my hopes up for these like I did the orange flower one. But I’ll definitely give them a try. Maybe they didn’t put a bar of soap in this time.

    • Robin
      Posted on 20 February 2010

Let’s hope. Although I LOVE the shaving soap in Prada Homme, so I think it was something more about the baby aspirin orange than the soap.

I haven’t “gotten” vetiver yet, but I definitely try it and I’m completely salivating over the idea of the tuberose one.

      Oh, you’ll get it eventually!

    Posted on 20 February 2010

Would love to try both, particularly the vetiver. I love Infusion d’Iris.

  13. Posted on 20 February 2010

These both sound like must-try fragrances for me. I like, but don’t love, Infusion d’Iris. Still need to try the much-praised L’Eau Ambrée, too! Thanks for the article!

    • Robin
      Posted on 20 February 2010

Will be interesting to see if they can win you over if you didn’t like the iris…even the L’Eau Ambree reminded me of the iris one.

      • Posted on 21 February 2010

Well, I actually like the iris one quite a bit. I just don’t love it the way I love Bois d’Iris. Iris isn’t my favorite note, anyway. However, amber, vetiver, and tuberose ARE favorites. So we shall see.

  14. Posted on 20 February 2010

Did not like the previous, so I expect another two toilet cleaners.

  15. k-scott
    Posted on 20 February 2010

Wow, I will be SO excited to try both of these. Hope they don’t disappoint like Infusion de Fleur Oranger and are on par with Infusion d’Iris, Infusion d’Homme, and L’Eau Ambree, all of which I adore.

  16. lemonprint
    Posted on 20 February 2010

I keep trying my sample of Infusion d’Iris, and I’m slowly coming to the conclusion that I might not like it. Which is odd for me; when a bunch of perfumistas agree, it’s usually on something that I’ll like (I’ve bought some things unsniffed that way).

So I’m not as excited about these as I want to be, but I’ll certainly at least try the tuberose. I got a bottle of a simple Lollia citrus & tuberose that was EXACTLY what I was wanting for the dead of winter and it’s reminded me I rather like tuberose.

    • Robin
      Posted on 21 February 2010

Oh, I don’t think it’s universally loved! And it got a terrible review in Perfumes: The Guide.

  17. Posted on 20 February 2010

Oh, these both look and sound lovely. Infusion d’ Iris is my everyday fragrance, but I have never had a chance to smell the orange blossom one. Is the vetiver meant to be part of the men’s line? The packaging strikes me as more masculine. Not that I would care, I would try it either way.

    • Robin
      Posted on 21 February 2010

According to Cosmetics Mag, yes, the tuberose is for women & the vetiver for men.

  18. Iris
    Posted on 20 February 2010

I have to try these! Except for the orange, there isn’t a Prada that I don’t love (or own). IWhere can they be found? Maybe Nieman’s?

They haven’t launched yet, but NM will have them when they do.

I have to check it out.. give it a sniff. How would you campare this one(the Infusion d’ Iris) to 39 Le Labo?

    • CynthiaW
      Posted on 20 February 2010

Other than the fact that they both feature iris, I don’t think that they are similar at all. Iris 39 is very juicy and has a citrus edge to it that Infusion d’Iris doesn’t have (at least not to my pedestrian nose). I like Infusion, but I loooooooooooove Iris 39.

      • ajuarez
        Posted on 21 February 2010

Thanks, CynthiaW why does it always happen to me? the most expensive are the ones I Looooove.

    • Robin
      Posted on 21 February 2010

The Prada is a more ethereal scent, and IIRC the base is much paler than the LL.

  20. Posted on 20 February 2010

I pretty like most of their products. Quickly tried the Orange one in Bloomie’s but found it eh. Been meaning to try the Ambree, but keeps slipping my mind, as does everything lately. HA! These two will make the must try list. :-)

The Iris didn’t work for me for some reason it gave me a headache.I was pretty excited about the Orange one I really didn’t like it reminded me a furniture polish for sure. So, I don’t think I will like these.

    • Robin
      Posted on 21 February 2010

Two less to worry about then.

    • CynthiaW
      Posted on 21 February 2010

The Iris gave me a headache the first few times that I tried it and I put it away – after reading several good reviews and moving further into my sniffing hobby, I pulled it out and it worked fine. I don’t know if it was a time of year thing or if I grew more tolerant of whatever gave me a headache as I spent more time sniffing perfume.

Tuberose & Vetiver??? They shoulda just have named them “Infusion d’Lemming I & II” hehehehehe.

I like the original Amber pour homme, but the Infusion d’Homme was too similar IMHO.

I hope these two are radically different.
By the way, how are they marketed? as unisex or femme (tuberose) and homme (vetiver)?

The packaging looks nice, and a little retro.

I love all the Prada frags I’ve tried, though I haven’t tried L’Eau Ambrée or Fleur de Oranger yet, but have been tempted to pick them up since I love the general style and “feel” of the house frags. These both sound fantastic. I usually adore tuberose (though I recently bought a wee decant of CDG’s Daphne and it was a horrid mess on me *shudder*) and have been expanding into vetiver, too. I think Prada in particular will do a great job with it.

    • Robin
      Posted on 21 February 2010

Daphne didn’t really work on me either, although it impressed me…

  27. alexandrakwan
    Posted on 21 February 2010

both sounds very appealing, anyone know when they will be released? I love this Iris, but seems the humid and hot weather of HK summar can’t stand the IDR as well……Fleur’s de Oranger is a tad bit too powdery, tho a very faithful description of how orange flower should smell ( my mum recognise it right on first sniff)…..I hope this tuberrose and vetiver is as good as the iris~~~

I liked and got minis of both Id’I and Id’H and wore them occasionally. Then I started sampling the other Prada fragrances and found I didn’t like any of them, there is something in the base that they seem to have in common that does NOT agree with me. I found this plasticky note very present in L’eau Ambrée, which as Robin says is extremely similar to I’dI, so now I can’t wear I’dI any more – the dreaded note isn’t so dominant there but my brain has forever made the connection and can’t be fooled. But I like the idea of these so I’ll definitely try them anyway, and just be sure to have something strong at hand to cover up the mess. Aromatics Elixir or something.

    • boojum
      Posted on 21 February 2010

Ah, shoot, I know what you mean. I have the same problem with the Bvlgari line.

      • Helle
        Posted on 22 February 2010

O, too bad about Bulgari. Robin is right below though, it can be a relief to keep things off one’s radar. But the concept of these appeals to me so I know I’ll try them anyway.

    • Robin
      Posted on 21 February 2010

Useful to have a whole line you don’t need to worry about though.

    • Aparatchick
      Posted on 21 February 2010

At least you could smell something! I’ve tried the Iris countless time and all I can smell is a very, very faint scent that vaguely pleasant. Hate it when I can’t even smell something other people rave about. Happens with Parfum Sacre too of all things!

      • Helle
        Posted on 22 February 2010

That must be really annoying. I’ve heard many people can’t smell Id’I though, and it is a kind of a sheer scent. But Parfum Sacré – is not exactly what I’d call sheer. How strange!

      • Posted on 22 February 2010

I could not smell Parfum Sacre the first time I tried it, although that may have been because it was winter and my nose was blocked up. The second time all I smelled was lemon and rose – but the third! Love. Swooning.

I MUST MUST MUST try (and even get) the vetiver!!!
though I might wait till next January to get a bottle though in the sale!
I saw Flear d’Oranger being sold for under £30 in a British department store!

    • Robin
      Posted on 22 February 2010

I’m surprised it was even there…I think they tried to pull it from mainstream stores after 4 months, although I know the discounters still have it.

      • Joe
        Posted on 22 February 2010

Wow! So even Prada recognized the disaster? What a waste… you’d think they’d have found a home somewhere (well, aside from the discounters). It must be a tough call to weigh the cost of pulling a product against the damage to a brand by leaving something out there that smells horrible.

        • Robin
          Posted on 22 February 2010

No, not at all — that was their plan for this series, to make them truly LE in the sense that they wouldn’t be hanging around on counters forever.

I´m dying to try them both, specially tubereuse!!!
So far I have liked very much all prada line, I specially love Amber pour homme and Infusion FDO( I know many of you don´t like it but It has became my scent of recovery after hard workout at the gym).so far the only one I haven´t liked much it´s the first prada. I coulf wear it but in small amount and maybe layered with something fresh. There is a certain note in it I cannot name that reminds me of fruit about to pass

    • Robin

Robin, I went to John Lewis today and asked when they are coming out but even the Prada representative couldn’t tell. Do you know when they are coming out? I’m itching to try them!!

  34. Posted on 23 February 2010

    Pretty bottles! I want.

  35. prism
    Posted on 19 March 2010

    available in Prada boutiques already

Tubereuse left basically NO impression on me

Vetiver smells like Infusion D’Homme from the bottle, on skin it smells like a mixture of d’Homme and Aromatonic from Lancome. which is a fragrance i like, but wouldn’t buy (anymore). especially not for Prada prices lol. it’s VERY green, cold and fresh. sharp citrus too.

    final verdict: nice…. but forgetable.

i stick with the original two Infusions of Iris, both for women and men :)
