Rancid beer grains

At Seattle’s Blue Marble Energy, chemists are cooking up a perfume made from the waste products of a local organic brewery, including rancid beer grains, green algae and a “sludge” consisting of 50,000 different kinds of bacteria.

The grains replace petroelum in the production process making the perfume, called Eos, completely carbon neutral.

If it smells good, more power to ‘em, and I’ll definitely support it if I can!

Buying a locally produced or niche parfum that doesn’t advertise as much probably saves more petroleum, but I love the idea!

I think this is mostly sold locally (?)

Wow. Takes recycling to an entirely new level. When I first thought of beer and perfume, I had to think of my college days. Throw in a splash of coffee and some Dior (I think that and No. 5 were what I was wearing then) and voilah! lol Not so sure I’d want to smell like that again…

I don’t want to smell like that again either!
