Tallulah Jane Tallulah, Gotham & 333 ~ new fragrances

Tallulah Jane Tallulah, Gotham & 333

Tallulah Jane is a new indie perfume house based in New York City, “crafting natural fragrances made from botanical essences and absolutes”. They debut with three fragrances:

Tallulah ~ “The signature fragrance from Tallulah Jane, Tallulah is our favorite jasmine scent of all time! Creamy jasmine notes flirt with heady tuberose for a scent that is timeless yet nouveau.”

Gotham ~ “Tallulah Jane’s Gotham fragrance is a sparkling, earthy oriental, deep and sexy, yet bright and crisp. Equal parts Bloomsbury and Bay of Bengal, this scent is a blend of exoticspiices [sic] and rose, rounded off with the earthy depth of patchouli.”

333 ~ “Tallulah Jane’s 333 fragrance is an exquisite triple threat: three different types of chamomile and lavender are combined with three essences of citrus tree, neroli, petitgrain and bitter orange. The result? An elegantly patrician fragrance with more than a hint of attitude.”

Tallulah Jane Tallulah, Gotham & 333 are $58 for 8 ml roll-on, and can be found now at Spirit Beauty Lounge. (via press release)

They also have a website, and from the looks of things, Tallulah has borrowed a gun or two from Juliette:

There’s a $25 sample set of three available there.

Could be interesting. Prices are definitely niche. Can’t tell if the bottles are very cute or very tacky… but I’m certainly not the target. I do like the copy reference to “Bloomsbury and Bay of Bengal”.

The Gotham immediately remembered me of some girls at high school, who were wearing this real patchouli scent. I found it awful.

Rose & patchouli can be very nice though…

I like the smell of roses. Mostly a rose perfume is wearing me. I had a bottle of Lady Vengeance from Juliette has a Gun, but I couldn’t wear it. I gave it away.

I like the idea of rose and patchouli but I am not sure where to start. I would like something rose, and patchouli and a little tiny bit gourmand. I just recieved my sample of Rose Praline from Parfums de Rosine. It is nice, but not as dark as I would have liked. And I haven’t smelled them side-by-side but it reminded me of Stella. Any suggestions for a deep-foody-rosy-patchouli, Robin?

          Hmmm, maybe Mugler Angel Rose?

And not foody, but for rose + patch try L’Artisan Voleur de Roses, Bond no. 9 Bryant Park, Czech & Speake Dark Rose

Hmm…. I think I want to try these as I’m always interested in naturals. The problem is though that they have to smell quite a bit better than what I blend for my aromatherapy clients. Otherwise, what’s the point?

      No point, agree!

I like the idea of “natural” fragrances too, but I also am often concerned that they will not have much depth or complexity. I have been toying with the idea of ordering some natural indian attar fragrance oils, but what concerns me is the suggestion on the websites that one wears the oil on their clothes rather than their skin.

333 is an “exquisite triple threat”, lol. Actually, if I didn’t already have a large amount of full bottle perfumes, I would trial these. they sound like a handy little trio if they are actually nice fragrances.

    Well… 3 is not 12.

I like the bottles from what I can see. What is, “Bay of Bengal?” Every city I have been in where there happened to be an actual bay didn’t smell like it would make the ranks of being included as an ingredient for perfume.

Oh well, cynical humor took over.

Just tried them all. They are quite nice. The rose one is mostly rosy to my nose, just a hint of patchouli.

    Definitely sample worthy!
