You can still smell the forest. It goes on a bit green pine but settles into a soft sweet wood scent. On me it doesn't last long on it's own but is really wonderful as a layer when you want to bump up the wood in another fragrance. There really isn't much 'development' of the scent...once the fresh pine burns off what you get is what you've got.
