Accessorize ~ new fragrance

accessorize

UK chain Accessorize has launched a signature fragrance, also called Accessorize. Their parent company, Monsoon, launched their own scent last year.

Accessorize was inspired by Japanese artist Kitagawa Utamoro, and is reportedly a “sophisticated fresh floral fragrance with an oriental twist”; the notes include bergamot, orange flower water, lychee, mandarin blossom, jasmine, cherry blossom, peony, cassis, violet, rose, crystal musk, vanilla flower and creamy amber.

Accessorize Eau de Toilette is available in 50 ml Eau de Toilette for £17.50. (via monsoon.co.uk)

Somehow, I like the box but not the bottle. Wonder why that is? This one sounds a little too wet and sploshy to me.

Agree — the box is nicer. The bottle looks chintzy, although as always that much about the cap.

Orange juice was the first thing that came into my my mind als I read orange flower water. The bottle is cute although.

      Orange blossom sounds better.

Orange Flower Water is pretty yummy stuff, though,. As well as a scent, it is an ingredient in things like Ramos Fizzes and Moroccan food.

I think the bottle would be much prettier if they omitted the ridiculous “Accessorize”. I’d like the box – I love pretty perfume boxes and repurpose them for everything.

I see your point, but it’s the name of the perfume — they just about had to use it, no?

I really quite like Accesorize for, well.. accessories, but I’m afraid the marketing department will have translated their signature cutesy fussiness to acquatic sugar cane or somesuch horror. So, pass.

I’m with you. If they had left off the design and the name it would have been a lovely bottle. (Let me state again my bias towards simple, sophisticated glass bottles.) Luckily, it doesn’t sound like it will ultimately matter to me, since I think cherry blossom is the devil and the rest sounds too fresh and watery.

Whoops–this was meant to be a response to Boojum. I hit a wrong key somewhere and deleted everything, then I mis-posted my response. Dang it.

Sorry! There ought to be an easy way for me to move comments where they belong, but if there is I don’t know it.

Oh, no, it was totally my fault. I will live with the consequences. :)
