Not a Pole here, Ms. Kitty, but of Polish heritage. Skarb is actually a very strange scent; very vegetal (the copy didn’t bother me much on that one either! I found it poetic). Cześć!

My mom would have laughed her head off at that copy and gone on to create her own riffs on it to provoke further hilarity.

Ha! OMG! At first I was excited that it had a Polish name, being a Pole myself. But it went downhill from there. (And as Polish words go, that wasn’t exactly a beautiful, poetic one.) Wow. Ok, I remember the “how men cry” thing mentioned in The Guide. Nice. Ok, you’re right, this wasn’t nearly as ridiculous.

I’ve really liked what they’ve done so far at H&G, so absolutely want to smell it, and in the end couldn’t care less either way what it was inspired by. The prevailing (and widely accepted) idea in the fragrance industry that we need “stories” to be attracted to new fragrances strikes me as a bunch of hooey.
