Tocca Bianca ~ new perfume

Tocca Bianca fragranceTocca Bianca fragrance

Tocca Beauty has launched Bianca, the line’s latest fragrance for women:

Expertly blended, the luxurious aroma of Bianca eau de parfum is inspired by the fragrance of European teas. Bianca opens with a light citrus blend of lemon orpur and mandarin. Green tea and rose petals bloom, while a whisper of musk and sugar linger on the skin.

Tocca Bianca is available in 50 ml Eau de Parfum. It can be found at QVC in the US ($68) or SpaceNK in the UK (£50.90). (quote via qvc)

Sounds like a nice warm weather scent, possibly.

      Could be!

You know…I’ve liked several scents from this line, but loved none.

I think they’re just not my style.

Not mine either, kind of generic, nice but not outstanding in any way.

Exactly. They’re not bad, they’re not overly sweet fruity-floral messes like so much out there, they’re completely inoffensive, but not terribly interesting then, either. Like, not love. Nice for the office or visiting Aunt Hildie at the nursing home.

    They admit to sugar?

That’s refreshingly honest at least. Everyone needs a little sugar, no?

Interesting, the difference in price between the US and UK. £50.90 is about US$84.

      Posted on 21 October 2009

The UK price includes tax (VAT – 18% or so) – the US price doesn’t because it varies by state, but that bumps the price up a bit.

The could also have different price points to capitalize on a strong Euro and our somewhat frail Dollar. If that’s the case then I wish other luxe goods vendors would get on board.

There’s usually a price difference, but usually we pay more! So this is payback, LOL…

Ha, so true! But SpaceNK charges exorbitant prices for lines it sells exclusively.

And QVC is the opposite: they usually don’t sell expensive perfumes.

The only thing that intrigued me on this one is that I have a set of salt and pepper shakers that look almost identical to these bottles in the pic.

      LOL!

For some reason it always confuses me when you use two or three pictures of the same bottle – but then I’m easily confused! LOL! But I agree, the pair looks like salt and pepper shakers!

Sorry! Sometimes they look so lonely up there all by themselves. So I double or triple them :-)

Sounds pretty nice, though does seem more suited to warm weather. I like Stella from this line, but haven’t tried anything else yet. The Tocca line strikes me as very romantic.

Nobody seems to launch in season any more.

I almost love Tocca’s Florence, but it’s white flowers…and the whole, is just a little bit to soft.

Sorry to say I can’t remember than one…

  7. Posted on 21 October 2009

I haven’t tried any of Tocca’s offerings. There’s a shop in Melbourne that stocks the line, I might ring them and see if they can send a sample. This sounds like a citrusy Tommy Girl to me. I like the bottle!

  8. Posted on 21 October 2009

I sniffed all the Tocca stuff at Sephora and now don’t seem to remember which one I liked…I know I liked one tho…I’m always a little hesitant about buying a perfume with a name associated with it…is it just me? I feel weird if I wear “bianca” perfume and my name is angela…

Doesn’t bother me, but maybe it bothers lots of people!

Judging from the color of the juice, it looks to be a nice spring time scent.

  10. Posted on 21 October 2009

I’ve been quite illogically wanting to love a scent in this line. I love the bottles and I want to support the nice little local store that carries Tocca, because it’s one of the very few perfume-selling stores in town.

    And I love tea.

But…. Rose petals. Citrus. Pretty pale green juice. In winter. I can’t get excited, even though I want to.

i really like their candles and enjoyed feu de touch
i also like their scents but not enough to buy!!

I’ve liked the one candle I tried too…I’d say the candles are probably better than the perfumes.

Tocca scents always make me think of Fellini divas; gorgeous but over-ripe and heavily powdered and painted. They give the impression of caked-on product and scent—the mixing of body oils, pancake makeup grease, dry shampoo and baby powder. Oddly enough, even though Tocca scents aren’t my thing, I still find them beautiful. Just not my particular kind of beautiful. And so reasonably priced, for what they are. “Cleopatra” enough lasting power, that I wouldn’t be surprised if it could survive for centuries in a tomb.

    • Robin
      Posted on 22 October 2009

Trying to decide if I even find them beautiful. I think I would have said pretty, but not beautiful.

I have sampled this scent. It is very delicate and does not last long after applied. I do however, like this particular perfume very much because it is so feminine, but also have a difficult time justifying paying the price indicated.
