Ulrich Lang Nightscape ~ new fragrance

Ulrich Lang Nightscape photo

Ulrich Lang has launched Nightscape, a new fragrance for men:

A modern take on Patchouli, Nightscape is a sensual, mysterious and long lasting scent with notes of bergamot, “green” notes, a floral heart note of jasmine and geranium interwoven with cedarwood and a base of soft leather notes, musk, amber, tonka bean and patchouli.

In keeping with tradition, Ulrich Lang asked a new artist to interpret this fragrance visually. Carrying a small lab sample of nightscape around with him, young American photographer Matt Licari hit the streets of his home town New York City and got inspired by the fascinating metropolis.

Ulrich Lang Nightscape is available now at Aedes; 100 ml Eau de Toilette for $110. (via aedes)

Gosh, I don’t know who Ulrich Lang is, but the description and the the ad photography are more beautiful than I’ve seen for any men’s fragrance launch for a loooong time. Much more alluring than Jude Law looking rugged leaning against a motorcyle, or whatever.

I am so with you on that! It is a beautiful, alluring picture providing lots of space for my own imagination.

I found Anvers 2 very wearable for a men’s scent, so wouldn’t rule this one out if I came across it!

Yes — they did a good job on both of the 1st too, although I didn’t really adore either.

Anvers 2 is excellent! Even the original Anvers was interesting even if I wouldn’t necessarily wear it. So, patch, eh? I’m scared of patch, but what with his track record, I’ll want to sniff this one at least.

Patch used to scare me too, but it’s always so clean these days.

Ah, refreshing! For once I could read ad copy and safely drink my coffee simultaneously! Will wonders never cease?
Patch is scary but I try to keep an open mind/nostril since you just never know if it’s gonna be a big dose, a little dose, clean & polite or all hairy &nasty. Never heard of Ulrich before—but it sure sounds nice and I like how they’re handling it…..no angry naked man glaring at me through spendy sunglasses **shuddering**……

What, angry naked men in sunglasses don’t do it for you?

Friendly naked men in sunglasses are more my type.

LOL! good to see you back, even if it’s a quick pass through on your way back to the yard work…

This could be delicious and I love the photo and package design. and now that I looked up Anvers 2, I may need some U. Lang samples!

I’m becoming a patch ho like my mother (don’t tell her I called her a ho, ok?). Recently bought a decant of Borneo 1834 and I can’t believe that everyone on earth doesn’t find that heavenly! I’ll bet Nightscape is barely patchy, though.

:-) actually I really like patchouli. To me it smells like earth, which I like the smell of. Gosh, I like the smell of all sorts of things really.

earth, like damp loamy soil after a summer rain=good.
earth like around the barnyard= run away screaming.

Joe, never call your mother a ho.

The photography is great, kind of represents the seductive edge to a city. Judging from the notes in the lineup, the juice probably has the same personality. I think I’ll be gifting the husband with this one.
