Bunch o’ limited edition collector bottles 2009, part 12

More limited edition collector fragrance bottles, with the usual disclaimers: in most of these cases, the juice is unchanged, just the bottle is “special” (or not, as the case may be), and some of these may not be available in the US.

Ooh.. I like that C&S bottle and I’ve been dying for some No. 88. Of course, I probably won’t love the price!

I’m guessing no, you won’t! And 500 ml!!!

The only way that I’d ever use 500 ml is if I decided to take a bath in it!

500ml ?? egad…..well you could split it up….or will it to your future generations….forever….

Holy moly. My first thought was how nice that No. 88 bottle is but I definitely didn’t notice it was 500ml.

the Lolita Lempicka Midnight bottle is cool….tacky, but cool.

I am not loving it. I want that SL though, and the L’Eau d’Issey.

      • Posted on 12 October 2009

Only 30 available worldwide of the Lutens! Now that’s exclusivity.

And I am also in love with the L’Eau D’Issey bottle, which, correct me if I’m wrong, is the first time they’ve ever deviated from the iconic lighthouse flaçon. Do my eyes deceive me or are those three coloured lines actually inside the bottle? (The red one looks as if it ought to be the spray tube.)

It looks like Superman Bites the Apple to me.

I like the Habit Rouge bottle too, but I already have enough of that to last me forever.

And I haven’t got any other than an ugly decant.

      • CynthiaW
        Posted on 12 October 2009

Well, mine is an ugly decant – but it’s still 65ml, so I don’t need anymore.

Sadly, I’ve realized that Habit Rouge is not for me unless someday I magically wake up and have a powder fetish. I should swap away most of my big decant?

And even more sadly, I just discovered this weekend that PdNicolai New York is like a variation on the powder theme on Habit Rouge. Oh well.

      • Robin

I’d swap it, yes. Why not?

That question mark was an accident. Woops.

Ditto…love the 88 and the HR, but certainly 500 ml is too much regardless of the (undoubtedly ridiculous) price. Haven’t tested HR yet at all, and have been meaning to do so…looks like now would be a good time.

    • Robin
      Posted on 12 October 2009

      Do try HR!

    • CynthiaW
      Posted on 12 October 2009

I just looked at the regular price for No. 88 – it’s $185 for 100ml, so I’m sure that 500ml, plus the LE bottle will be completely ridiculous.

You have to wonder what they’re thinking there. In that large of a size, the bottle would lose a lot of its appeal, too. There, talked myself out of it already. ;)

I know, right? It’s like a pair of shoes that is really cute in a size 5 and they look terrible in a size 13. Actually, now that I look at it closer, I think that I like the regular bottle better. Of course, at $185 for 100ml, I’m liable to stick with an ugly decant. :)

Hey Boojum: I’ll happily send you some HR (and I promise to send it this time before you buy some for yourself!).

        Posted on 12 October 2009

Hey, that’d be great, thanks! HR isn’t one I see at every discounter like the Tuscany, so a repeat is unlikely. :)

Regarding the Lutens, what is that, a clear bottle with a cobweb etched onto it? Heck, if you want a cowebby bottle, I’m sure I have a few of those on my perfume shelf. (Lately I’ve noticed my place is cobweb city! Who has time to clean when I’m trying to sniff the gajillion samples I have piled up?).

    • Robin
      Posted on 12 October 2009

Looks like it! (and don’t remind me: my place is cobweb city too)

I just keep my eyes glued to the monitor (or a book, the tv, whatever is handy). Most days, I don’t even notice…

I didn’t realize the LL Midnight frag was an annual release. I don’t know which year I have, but the bottle’s quite pretty in an old fashioned sort of way. Though I think even the original LL bottle’s quite pretty. Love the stuff. :)

    • CynthiaW
      Posted on 12 October 2009

Does the LL Midnight smell differently than regular LL?

    • Robin
      Posted on 12 October 2009

      I hope I’m right…I think it’s every year? It’s regularly, anyway.

      • CynthiaW
        Posted on 13 October 2009

I looked it up on their website and it’s definitely different – I liked the notes when I read them. I was going to c&p them, but the site wouldn’t let me.

        • Robin
          Posted on 13 October 2009

Yes, I do know for sure it’s different, just not absolutely 100% positive that they release it every year.

That Serge Lutens one is tempting but I could buy myself so much other, more useful things. I’ve been waiting to have enough for an iPod. And I really loved VC&ACE’s Muguet Blanc. And I should start saving more…. xP

But jeez. It’s so beautiful. I find it hard to believe that etched bottles are worth that much. I don’t even think CRYSTAL is worth that much.

My iPod died so I’m about to buy another one too. Hopefully I’ll be good about perfume this quarter!
