I think they should tactfully not have had her speak at all. Unless they were aiming for the breathy, dumb starlet effect? And was the misspelling of ‘fragrance’ as ‘frangrance’ on the first newspaper a mistake, or a subtle and witty comment on the talents of journalists?

No, I’m quite sure it was meant as witty commentary :-)

Her speaking didn’t fit in with the rest of the ad, which I kinda liked, otherwise!

        No…it’s really kind of obvious that it’s a mash-up.

    Oh, I loved the Ad!
But I’m a sucker for these retrò feeling stuff.
Even if they are badly made…
    And the antenna…
And that stupid self-glueing dress…tacky tacky!
Well, I’m laughing. I really enjoyed it – should I feel ashamed? ;)

I laughed too! Very few celebrity perfume commercials go for the funny route, so I appreciate it even if it could have been much better done. Actually, sort of feels like some assistant came up with this while messing around in video editing software just for a lark…

Maybe its the rainy, overcast day or the fact that I haven’t had my coffee yet, but I found the whole thing rather annoying…not cute and retro as I suppose they intended…

Hey, have a coffee! I’m already on my 3rd cup of tea.

I couldn’t help but yawn after watching this. Not cute nor retro, just another skin flick. And if I order the samples, can I get the freedom of choosing my own design when I spray it on? Corny!

Not just you. I’m a huge fan of this era, and I like it generally when ads make allusions to it…but ‘not as cute or retro as you intended’ pretty much sums up how I received this one. That part where she spoke felt so MTV too, didn’t fit at all!

I thought it was kind of fun….reminded me of Rudulph the Red Nose Reindeer where they have the newspaper headlines “biggest storm of the year! Christmas cancelled!”
However—they should discourage CA from speaking….that was odd. Like: in case you all don’t recognize me, I’m Christina….

Well hey, some of us don’t recognize her!
