British paper The Sun reports that all four members of the jury of the successful UK talent show The X-Factor, including media mogul Simon Cowell and singer Cheryl Cole, have signed fragrance deals to release their ‘own’ scents for the holiday season.
— From X-Factor fragrances to hit markets before Christmas at the Independent. You may (or may not) remember that they had a couple scents back in 2007: Day Dream and Night Star. Many thanks to Ailsa for the link!

Oh no.
You know, it’s really surprising that American Idol doesn’t have a perfume. Or maybe they do and I don’t know about it.
Yeah, right. Randy Jackson? Ellen DeGeneres? Ryan Seacrest? Well, okay, Seacrest would be a cool product name, but still.
Ellen DeGeneres?!? Did they get rid of Paula Abdul?
Yeps. Ellen’s a regular judge, and Abdul is out.
Hmph. Can’t picture it. Oh well, I watched one season and I’m not going to watch again: that show is one big time drain!
This was my reaction. Eau de Cowell? Noo thanks.
However, if they’re anything like the previous X-Factor scents, they’ll be of the relatively low profile, straight-to-the-TK-Maxx-bargain-table variety. I had the experience of smelling the previous offering whilst having a bored rummage at said location – it smelt like somebody’s old pick ‘n’ mix.
The Cheryl one will totally sell. Hardcore Girls Aloud fans would never let such a (potentially hilarious) piece of Cheryl-related tat go unbought.
Don’t know who Cheryl is. Don’t want to know!
I’m laughing so hard, I’m crying. Thanks for that!
De nada, it’s our specialty.
I think American Idol does have a scent out. Simon Cowell and fragrance- I think I’ll keep a clothespin nearby.
Figures. I missed it.
oh good lord!!
Oh Lordy, what a waste of resources. Is this a vanity project for the celebs involved, or is the show just trying to squeeze every cent out of the franchise while they still have good ratings? I know, probably both… I like Ellen DeGeneres, by the way–she’s not a bad dancer herself, in a casual way.
I’m assuming they’re planning to make money, so you can decide if that’s a vanity project or not, LOL…most perfume manufacturers aren’t interested in celebrity’s egos, just getting their share of the $
