Nina Ricci will launch L’Air du Printemps, a new limited edition springtime flanker for their iconic L’Air du Temps fragrance, this coming March.
L’Air du Printemps was developed by perfumer Olivier Cresp, and retains the fresh facets of the original while adding a more powdery and sensual aspect with “modern and crystalline notes”. The fragrance notes include pear, cédrat, cristalline floral accord, rose, jasmine, frangipani, sandalwood, cedar and skin musk.
Nina Ricci L’Air du Printemps will be available in 100 ml Eau de Toilette. (via vogue.fr, odftp, levif.be)

Am looking for a fresh sparkling spring fragrance and am getting no joy. This may be it! Am a sucker for anything with frangipani and/or freesia!

The original L'Air du Temps is one of those fragrances…I've never liked it, and yet I keep trying it. I kind of want a bottle because it's cheap and, well, dry, and sometimes I want something “not sweet.” I don't like it, but I want it. Is this nuts?
At any rate, I'm sure I'll give this a sniff when I run across it.
I think you want to want it. I feel that way about many things. I personally want to want a NIna Ricci fragrance, but do not yet want one in particular. Perhaps if the original is dry, I do actually want it, but just don't know it yet.

Well, you know what? You nailed it. Plus, I just looked it up over on Makeupalley, and apparently the LdT testers at drugstores, etc. have sometimes gone off a bit. I know the Ulta where I've tried it sometimes has old testers that have gone “off.” So next time I get a chance I'll try it at a high end dept. store. Maybe a fresh bottle would make the difference.
Damselfly, it's funny…you never hear about anybody chasing down vintage L'Air du Temps, but the old stuff must be so much better than what they're selling now.
you can find the “original recipe” w/little problem on EBAY. i am not a seller, i’m a devotee.
sometimes there’s a glut; sometimes it’s not there. but shop around for it on ebay, and NEVER — i repeat, never, get the spray. there is always some dry remnant in the atomizer, and the result is something like rancid orange juice and something i’d rather not name in print.
shop for “vintage l’air du temps,” or “vintage perfumes.” it is glorious stuff. the new versions aren’t worth the soap & h2o you’ll go thru to get them off as quickly as possible.

Well, that's certainly no worse than wanting something you don't actually like! I never liked Wind Song, either, but every time I'm at the grocery store I have to stop myself from buying a bottle. Maybe it's nostalgia I'm after.

Purty, purty. I never cared for L'Air du temp..too boring? This is another I'm tempted to buy unsniffed. What for god's sake, is a crystalline note? or cedrat? Too much cedar would be the only deal breaker for me.

Cedrat is a kind of citrus. Crystalline presumably is some “special effect”, but can't say exactly what it will mean here.

never ever ever get spray, always get the splash. the atomizer is never clear, and the result is something no human ever wants to smell, much less wear.
why hasn’t anyone been here in a year? i’m always behind the times.
get the splash, and get edp rather than edt if you want staying power. if you just want to try it first, edt is usually cheaper.
