LOL — true, but at least it’s more information instead of less, I’ll always go for that.

Hm. Entire brands some of us have never heard of.

The only DuPont I know of is the chemical empire that originated down the road from you, R… and that’s not a great fragrance association in my mind. “The largest corporate producer of air pollution in the US”… an unfortunate name to share! :-)

Yes, Dupont is not what you’d want to call your perfume in the US…I think they’re sold much more widely overseas, and I take it esp. in Eastern Europe, maybe? And in Duty Free. I never see them here at all except at discounters.

mmmmm Eau d’Industrie…..the scent that just keeps giving….giving you headaches, impaired immune system, lung cancer, and birth defects…….not a big seller in the US I’d imagine.

You know some of us would be lemming a sample if Comme des Garçons released Eau d’Industrie, though. :D

yeah, you’re right. they could do a whole series….Un Peu de Mercurie—-and we could say things like “wow, this really does smell just like Lake Erie!” ;-)

Eau de Mistake by the Lake? Would have to contain drops of LeBron James’ sweat, of course…

I personally know at least one person who would pay good money for that…

            … ok, ok, I admit it – it’s me!

Dupont is a very well-known and highly respected brand name in France: (as Robin mentions below) it instantly conjures up beautiful lighters and luxurious fountain pens. My mother’s lighter (black lacquer and gold – from the 1930s) got lost in one of my house moves. I wish I still had it (not to use, but to wonder at). Nothing unfortunate about that name at all.

I of course realize it’s an entirely different company, Bela. I was merely commenting that the huge American corporation we know as DuPont has unfortunate associations.

Umm… I kind of like the sound of the notes… maybe? Of course, that doesn’t mean that it *won’t* be a hot mess. And DuPont is a weird name.

Could be nice! And you know, as sick as I am of pink perfume, there’s something about this bottle that I really like.

so, is the pink egg-carton-y thing the bottle?

It looks like honeycomb made by a hyper-feminine bee. Not that there’s anything wrong with that.

Yes! They’re known for their cigarette lighters (and pens & stuff) and I think this is a copy of one of their lighters. Here’s the original though:

            ahh, I see. Thanks Robin.
It looks very industrial in shiny carbon…..but the pink one above? Ok, if I saw that fall out of someone’s purse, I would think it had tampons in it. Sorry Kitty, did I just ruin it for you?

            *shrieks*
OMG – it does look like a tampon holder. And it doesn’t look like it will be anywhere that I can easily sniff- I can’t see ordering a sample of it either.

I’d probably sniff something called Smoldering Jungle – but not the Eau d’Agent Orange.

Twice, yes, but third time, my tongue went on strike and I just made a sort of whistling sound. The pink bottle I woujld like to see in real life, just to see whether it doesn’t REALLY look like a toothpaste and brush holder, or a manicure set, or something else from the $2 dollar shop. :-) :-)

I came across this yesterday in some perfume counter. It’s sweet fruity-floral in the first stage, that all remains is some rose and musky smell, no suprise, it’s kinda boring when the market is flooded with rose-scented fragrance~ and the lasting power on me is….mei……around an hour? for a edp that’s kind disappointing, while my infusion d’iris lasted for an entire night ( i can still smell it when i woke up today lol)….

I received a bottle of ST Dupont pour femme and I cannot understand why a company would think it could sell such a thing. It is simply fragrance noise. The correspondent of overload fashion. The market is over-generous with boring (and pungent) stuff – the proof is they dare to come up with another catastrophe.

      Fragrance noise — perfect description!
