Italian niche line Profumi di Pantelleria has launched Approdo (translation: landfall):
In the distance, a white triangle emerges from the surface of the sea. It seems to rise and approach, until you glimpse the hull of a sailing yacht siding across the water with elegant, harmonious movements. A little later, it draws close to the quay; once the mooring operations have been completed, a group of smiling people disembarks: the pleasure they feel about having shared an enjoyable, personally enriching experience is immediately palpable. Approdo tells the wonderful emotions that are the gift of a direct relationship with the sea. The pleasure of setting foot back on the land blends with the sweet regret at leaving behind the lived experience.
And the fragrance description: “The smells of saltiness, of the sea breeze give a mineral, almost metallic hint, fresh and pungent, to the warm odours of woods, aromatic herbs, spices and flowers.” The notes feature tangerine, basil, violet leaves, mineral notes, magnolia, white pepper, black pepper, maté, patchouli, cedar and vetiver.
Profumi di Pantelleria Approdo is available in 100 ml Eau de Parfum. (via press release)

I will watch for this. I love the description and notes list. Must look up “maté”, though. I’m glad it has an accent over the “e” — I wouldn’t want to smell a SHIPmate after a long voyage, LOL.
P.S. The maté, I’m guessing is “Yerba maté”. Check out the Wikipedia article, if you are interested.
That’s what I assumed it was … it’s not all that uncommon in perfume.

It’s the usual. I wish it was more clear if it had actual aquatic/ozone notes. I really like the original Profumi di Pantelleria scent…or at least, I did. Haven’t smelled it in years.

This sounds like something I would really like – as long as the marine notes are oceanic and not ozonic or watery.
I actually liked the imagery – it painted a nice picture in my head. I like the idea of being someone who swans about on yachts – although in reality, I’d probably trip and fall in the water.
What? *scratches head* I don’t know about the ad copy, but the fragrance isn’t usually what I’d go for anyway, so I suppose it doesn’t need to make sense to me.
If it isn’t aquatic, I might like it! And don’t care about the ad copy either way, LOL…
I love this kind of copies! I always describe perfmues who “touch” me like that, as a story, a poem, an event or a mystic adventure.
I can imagine it rather then by the notes.
Ans as long as it is NOT an aquatic/ozone stuff (which I find horribly synthethic!) I put it on my need-to-smell list.

(I expected it to continue with) “edge of the mothership, a white pyramid four city blocks high. It twists, turns, hums and then sprays us with perfume as a voice with an italian accent says in a deep baritone ‘APPROOODOOOO!!’” hehehehehe
