I tested LOVE ETC. the other day. Does anyone remember the Spice Girls Bodyspray from way back in 1997? There you go. Fruity Floral. Fruity Floral. And then just the smallest whisper of sandalwood. A million efforts smell like this.

That movie was fun. Clive Owens gives me jollies and the name is very similar to the BBW one. But I would think maybe save those names for VDay releases.

I like Body Shops body butters, not found of their perfume.

I read the Perfume book but didn't see the movie. Not sure I want to, but might at some point.

Yes, Lush makes lots of stuff. And it isn't as reasonably priced as TBS either. But they'll make samples of most anything in the store!

miss kitty v, I was able to grab a half ounce bottle of Fuzzy Peach for more than half price when it got the ax and have been considering mixing some with a bit of vodka or alcohol to make my own "perfume" as well as to make the oil last longer. Their Mango (also discontinued, surprise surprise) is also just delicious and I'm glad I got a one ounce bottle of that one. It should last for years. :)

Robin, I have been curious about trying Lush since that's the same vibe I get from them as well. I mean they practically beat you over the head with it. But there's just such an overwhelming amount of product that it boggles the mind and I've no idea where to begin.

Joe, I think TBS's decline has been slow but steady, and I think their attempt to be BBW's slightly more activist and earthy big sister is a huge part of the problem. They even put out an amber scent around the holidays a couple years back that was apparently very similar to BBW's Sensual Amber. And many of their perfume oils don't seem to be around for as long as they once were, either, with a definite decline in staying power.

The TBS I remember focused on environmentally conscious beauty and if not activism, at least awareness of how and what goes into the making of a product. I felt good shopping there because their quality, price, and ethics were all part of what made their products and image.

The competition has even extended to an eerily similar aromatherapy range to the one Crabtree & Evelyn released around the same time. If I want BBW or C&E, I'll *go* to BBW or C&E.

I just want my old TBS back. But like all good things (ambergris, sandalwood, citrus oils), nothing lasts forever, and the only constant is change. :(
