Habit Rouge is really very classic. I fell good when wearing it and it stays.

Sorry for all the Brits looking for the EdPerfum, have to correct myself: recently flew from Liverpool and the shop looked different. Must have been Leeds-Bradford, East Midlands (even more surprising to find a rare perfume in the duty free...!), Manchester, or just Luton Airport (London). Can't trace it back, I'm flying too often...

Actually, I just realise I'm being being really arrogant... it's just the way it's said, not a person's decision. It's just the common way to say it. I guess in German many from an older generation say Rasierwasser even if they rarely mean an actual Rasierwasser (after shave/tonic), but rather an EdT/EdC or perfume or whatever.

I know what you mean!! In the UK men only speak about AFTER SHAVES! That's even worse... always makes me cringe. Anything that smells, is liquid, and is applied to skin is refered to as 'after shave'... :D

Oh, no, no. She hates fragrances. Not just perfumes, but anything that has a smell. She won't even eat food that has flavor. It's a nightmare.

Celestia: Boucheron Pour Homme was the first EdP I remember wearing WAAAAAY back in the 90s. It still seems true that "mainstream" American men who wear perfume don't like the WORD "perfume." I often ask: "What perfume are you wearing?" And such men look upset! HA! "My COLOGNE is..."

I just wanted to mention that Flower By Kenzo Eau d'Ete (2006)smells like a "lite" version of HR to my nose.
In the past there have been so few men's fragrances that came in EDP, let alone extrait, so the 60 ml is quite shocking for those of us in North America! Heritage was available in EDP but not here. I seem to recall that Boucheron and YSL might have had those concentrations too. L'Instant de Guerlain Pour Homme is sometimes greeted with "It smells too perfumey!", which I think means that it's too strong for most men in North America. Wait till they try the Intense version! Apparently Homme will be coming out with a more intense version in the fall, which shouldn't hurt it since it's fresh to begin with.
Back in the nineties, when I used to go to Paris every two years, I used to eat at The Brasseries Flottes on the Rue Cambon daily. I remember the owner used to wear Habit Rouge so I got him a bottle. I wonder if he is still alive...

LL: interesting comments on the EdP...many things to many people! I liked Legere better before I wore it at the same time I wore classic HR...when they are worn side by side I think Legere suffers. (So never compare!) Legere is certainly a "wow", strong scent on me...people smell me coming a block away. (SO funny about HR EdP at Liverpool airport!)

Bela: Guerlain and Nice...a good combo! Wonder if the new formulation of HR would be less masculine to your nose....
