Ryoko was a character in Tenchi Muyo

Those Ryoko things are kind of cute. They remind me of a Tamagochi (remember that kids’ fad?). I could use some more Amour. I wonder if Sephora will stock these.

The He Wood bottle is nice, but I”m not so into oils. I also love their original bottle too much — would someone remind me to buy 30ml, please?

Joe, you really gotta buy a 30 ml bottle of HeWood one of these days. Don’t forget!!!!

          lol

I love the Men’s DSquared, I sneak sprays from my husband’s bottle… not the women’s so much.

What’s really scary is that those tamagotchi things came out something like 13 years ago LOL
I had a dinky dino, he was a cute little dinosaur haha

Joe, I don’t like oils or roll ons, so I’m not needing that, but the leather case is cute.

The Ryokos are adorable, but have liked past year’s designs better.

Darn, I just bought a large bottle of Amour, and I love it…Any recommendations on his other scents?

    • Robin
      Posted on 29 June 2009

Amour is definitely my favorite from that list. Flower is probably the biggest seller though!

Amour is like a stronger “Annam” ! I have never tried Flower so…

I only have Flower and do like it on occasion. It’s nice and light.

If we ever get together to do our big perfume swap, you can try my Winter Flowers — and I’ll trade you for an Amour decant if you like it. I don’t know Annam. KenzoAir is also good if you like vetiver/anise. Power wasn’t bad, but didn’t wow me.

      Posted on 29 June 2009

Power bowled me over…in a bad way. BOOM! Shame, bc I liked it on paper and LOVED the bottle, but that seems to be how Kenzo is for me. Great on paper, meh on skin. :(

      Posted on 29 June 2009

I LOVE LOVE LOVE Winter Flowers. It’s next on my list to purchase.

I wear Amour and Indian Holi on cozy days, and Flower when I wear summer skirts… it’s such a bright, feminine scent.

Ok, someone help me out, because those photos are confusing me. Is the “pebble” that tiny little thing in the huge bubble, or is the tiny little thing a window in the huge bubble that is the pebble?

Okay, here’s my vision of wearing the EL solid perfume pendant….it’s hot outside….you’re feeling a bit overheated yourself….and then your melting solid perfume (not so solid now) begins oozing out of the locket and all over your top…..

    • Joe
      Posted on 29 June 2009

I sometimes wonder how those work… I assume they’ve perfected “ooze-proof” technology? Oh, the stories I can tell about lip balms and pots of Carmex.

      • Daisy
        Posted on 29 June 2009

rather like a lipstick left in the cup holder in the middle console of the car….out in the sun all day? goes from being a twist up stick to a mushy pot of color in the cap.

        • boojum
          Posted on 29 June 2009

…and here, I’m really hoping Joe has no idea what you’re talking about…

          • Daisy
            Posted on 29 June 2009

He’s got to have at least one female friend who’s left a lipstick in the car, in the sun….I mean, am I the only one who has done that?? And I’ve done it more than once (can’t learn)

          • Daisy
            Posted on 29 June 2009

and anyhow, my Neutrogena 15 SPF lip balm has succumbed to the sun twice as fast as lipstick…..and in the winter I freeze the dickens out of tubes of Blistex…which seperates and makes a mess too….This sort of stuff wouldn’t happen if I’d carry a decent sized purse!

          • Joe
            Posted on 29 June 2009

I do get the *concept* even if I’ve never done that to lipstick myself. ;) However, I’m more likely to leave lip balm in my pocket and run it through the clothes dryer than leave it in a hot car — you’d be surprised that sometimes the balm case doesn’t have any leakage, but when it does… grease stain nightmare!

          • boojum
            Posted on 29 June 2009

Oh, my husband has left his lip balm in his work pants more times than I care to count, and it makes me FUMING mad. He’s a good hearted guy, but he carelessly does SO many things like that that just make my life difficult.

My daughter keeps leaving her Chapstick in her jeans pocket – so far down that it stays in there during the “shake all clothing items before washing to see what falls out” test. Last winter I found FOUR – count them, FOUR – empty Chapsticks in the dryer. (Luckily no ill effects on the clothing.) And then she comes into my room looking for MY Blistex DCT… Teenagers.

Ugh, I melted my favorite Vincent Longo that way. Several lip balms, too. Also melted an “emergency” deodorant stick in the glove box. At least it smells fresh in there.

          • Daisy
            Posted on 29 June 2009

LOL good to know your glove box doesn’t have any personal odor problems…..I hate a sweaty smelling glove box….keeps the owners manual nice and fresh….lololol
Funny but you know…I’ve been in people’s cars before that I WISH they’d melt a deodorant stick ANYWHERE in their car….p-u

    • Robin

LOL! I think it’s pretty though.

      Posted on 29 June 2009

I have this weird mad scientist mentality that makes me want to buy it and see what happens. I can’t see how it could NOT melt when it hits a certain temperature.

    • ggperfume
      Posted on 29 June 2009

Don’t wear the pendant until you’ve used up all the perfume. If only I liked the scent more, I could use up my sample bottle and then I’d have a perfect little “worry stone”. The shape and texture of the bottle is just right– so soothing. . .

  7. Posted on 29 June 2009

Nearly all of these bottles are quite attractive, but DKNY really need to give all the Be Delicious flankers / new bottles a rest. Really. Really really.

The Kenzo Amour Ryoko bottles are v cute though! The red and pink remind me of Gucci Rush & Rush 2 only for the shape, the silver is very classy! Why do I never see these kinds of things when I am out shopping? (other than DKNY, which again I see all. the. time.)

    • Robin
      Posted on 29 June 2009

I never see them either! And usually love pop art stuff, but agree: DKNY has done enough with Be Delicious now.

      • Tama
        Posted on 29 June 2009

Maybe nobody buys it and they are grasping at straws to get it some attention.

A young lady I work with wears Kenzo Amour and I’ve gotta tell you, iit smells amazing on her. How’s they get a fragrance to be so heavy on the vanilla – which is a note I typically can’t stomach – and get it to come across as non-foody or gourmand? It really is lovely.

Have you not read my comments?? bad spelling, worse grammar….my punctuation is ‘creative’ though and I should get points for that….there’s no explaining why sometimes I leave entire words out…..

on KenzoUSA.com, i noticed Tokyo for men is also available in the Ryoko line.

    Posted on 29 June 2009

Hmm… now I finally know what that weird design was all about when I ordered the 20ml of Flower from Scentiments – it was the Ryoko “bottle”. I was kind of disappointed in it because the regular bottle is so pretty, but I don’t display bottles, so it wasn’t that big of a deal – until I went to use it. It’s kind of a sucky design from a usage standpoint – not that easy to spray and kind of annoying.

    • Robin
      Posted on 29 June 2009

Oh dear, is it hard to spray? What a shame, they’re so darned cute.

      • CynthiaW
        Posted on 29 June 2009

It is for me – it doesn’t seem to want to stay in my hand and spray at the same time. It isn’t impossible, but it’s not a quick spritz and go either.

    Posted on 30 June 2009

Boojum, it’s definitely not you! I have checked out the comments above, and I still can’t tell what the Ryoko things are… They look nice, but I still have no idea where the perfume comes out from. Probably, if I ever see them and attempt to test them out, from somewhere perfectly aimed at my eye!

I think that that Estee Lauder compact looks like some sort of shiny jungle canteen…is that just me? Lol.

Those Ryoko pebbles are just gorgeous!

    • Robin
      Posted on 30 June 2009

I liked the ones that actually looked like real pebbles, but cant’ remember what year that was.

I don’t get it. What ARE The pebble things?
